Definitely agree that Starrk should of had a better battle and with someone's bankai. Hell, would of been a good time to show Ukitake's bankai, especially since we never got to see it period. And yes, Starrk should of had a volume cover! Liked his character and resurreccion, my third favorite arrancar behind Halibel and Grimmjow. Good video! Damn you Kubo...
Wouldn't have him to begin with without kubo's design. The man definitely needed more time, but shounen jump is a betch.
Stark was one of the things that pissed me off the most about Bleach. I loved him as a character. But, at the end when I realised they were letting some of the Espada live and Stark had to die, oh hell no. Big boobs and Discount Vegeta can get a pass, but not Stark? Imagine if he had made it to the final battle and we got to see him gun battle a bunch of Quincy? More of Bleach's big missed opportunities.

Wanna know what really irks me? In the battle when Mayuri just pulled out the Spanish arracrar dude, the moth lady and Luppi from the grave, but where was starkk?! Still dead apparently. I would've cried literal tears of joy if he came back. Most people don't even give a damn about the moth and Luppi, I'm cool with the spanish arrancar dude but no starkk??

It's interesting how most of the espada died an ironic death. Apollo was a scientist, and science killed him; Ulquiorra realized what a heart is seconds before he died; Barragan was killed by his own power; Stark died alone; just to name a few.

The splitting souls concept is interesting, and I never see anyone talk about this, because it is among the only explanations for Kenpachi and his lieutenant, later revealed to be his zampacto spirit, Yachiru.
Yachiru always was Kenpachi's zampacto spirit, but it was shown time and again that they can act separately and each having their own personalities and priorities. Hell Yachiru even had her own release state for her sword.
This concept of subdividing ones self to alleviate boredom or loneliness comes in because when does Kenpachi first meet her? After yet another of a long line of battles, with him alone in the forests of Zaraki with no one left who could challenge his place as king of the mountain.
Only then does Yachiru show up. Unafraid of him, and it is only then that he first bequeathes himself a name, as well as giving one to her
It is repeated time and again that the zampacto is not something separate from you but literally, specifically your soul made manifest. His soul could not speak to him, and it went so far as to make something external to talk with because Kenny would never introspect without it.
It even goes deeper when we learn Kenpachi even subconsciously shut himself off from his blade to try and make his fights fun again and how Yachiru really only wanted to have that dialogue as Soul Reaper and Zanpakuto whenever Kenpachi would try and ask his sword it's name after the Ichigo fight Yachiru would always try speaking up to start it like she wants but Kenny would just tell her to shut up cause he's just unaware of what she's doing and just thinking she's gonna say her normal cheering on while he's trying to have a serious moment
Honestly it'd have been kinda fun to see Kenpachi vs Stark before he awakened his zanpakuto and she disappeared with this new context for Yachiru the 2 split souls both taking different paths of handling it Stark openly embracing his other half to try and fill his loneliness and Kenpachi who rejects his other half despite her best efforts to try and ease his boredom
yeah, not many people talk about how similar Starrk and Kenpachi are. Both insanely high spiritual pressure, both have loli's who're part of them, etc.

I've always envied the weak. The souls of all my friends diminished, just by being in my presence. I was left alone . . . and isolated. In the depths of my loneliness, we divided our soul into two. I can't recall what our original form was. Maybe it wasn't like either one of us. In the end, I finally realized it didn't matter. It was the only way I could escape the solitude. That's why I envied the weak; you can stay with the pack if your weak. Since it was impossible for me to be weak, at least I had a comrade who matched my strength.

I want Starrk to return. He's my favorite character in Bleach. He not only has one of the most unique powers and fighting style, but he's the Arrancar counterpart to Shunsui, who's already impressive himself.
Edit: Also, Tekking, you forgot to mention that Starrk is lazy. That's why he was defeated so easily. He wasn't as motivated to fight as the other Espada. He even states his intentions to sit out the war to Shunsui.

Not lazy really. More like Lillinette had all the optimism and motivation. They were once one soul so would have to be alter-egos of each other.
Two things i thought would be mentioned in a video but didn't:
1) Stark was so chill that they even discussed with Shunsui if they really should fight, or can just pretend;
2) Stark, who was strongest espada(supposedly). Had to fuse with his companion for his release. And Kenpachi, who is one of the strongest shinigami. Had his zanpakuto as his companion.
This is why I think Stark didn't get a bonkai fight. But I think that Stark's power was shown to it's fullest.

When i thought lillenette died in the anime i was pretty upset for stark. He wasnt presented as a bad dude and its incredibly relatable to be a lonely guy finding conpanions that are doing bad things and get sucked in just to feel like you belong

Read a fanfic once where starrk fought barragan and won because barragan couldn't effect the wolves starrk could make because they were pure soul fragments.
In bleach, people die, but the souls just keep going, they continuously reincarnate forever.
It was a neat concept, I know that the espada were ranked by spiritual pressure, but it was fun to think that there was a reason he was number one, that he'd be the only one who could defeat barragan.
If what Aizen said about Shinigami fights being about the reiatsu (look at his conversation with Sui-Feng or Soi Fon when she stabs him and her ability doesn't work) THEN if the same thing applies to Arrancar (which is probably true) then the immense reiatsu of Starrk makes him immune to Baraggan's ability.
One way to look at things. And with my simple mind, it makes enough sense to me.
The words Wasted Potential come to mind when thinking of Starrk, but then again that's true of all the Espada with the exception of Grimmjow and Ulquiorra.

I think that was what Kubo was going for. If you think about it, all of the espada are very minimalistic characters, and very poetic also, one-note even. Haribel is the living representation of her aspect of dead and her being betrayed by Aizen is tragic as well, Ulquiorra is a tragic and beautiful tale of philosophical nihilism and the same goes for Starkk.
I know Bleach is a battle manga, but I think Starkk's story is beautifully tragic, and I think Kubo did an amazing job.

Its like tite kubo just created starkk on a whim because he forgot he needed a primera espada. Its sad actually, he had so much potential.

I doubt that, because it seems like if he just needed an Ace Barragan would have been it, him being the King and all. If anything, Starrk seems like a subversion of the established power structure, because he was the mysterious outlier that no one had an explanation for.
Kubo just went back to the well too often making that also true of Yammy.

Starrk destroys the cover with his spiritual pressure every time Kubo tried to make one, so Kubo just gave up.

Would've been cool if Kubo made a cover with Starrk leaning on the book binding and Lilynette on the back of the manga leaning on the binding also. So if you open both ends they're leaning on each other's backs. Also wish he came back in the final arc like Grimmjow did.
Starrk is my favorite member of the Espada, though Harribel is a close second. He just seems like a nice guy. Plus he has the best name, Coyote Starrk. I wish we'd had more time with him though. Poor guy got robbed.
I personally think Shunsui and he related on a deep level and that's why their fight was very... Respectful? They respected each other a lot. Also, as for Lillinette... I personally believe she and Yachiru/Nozarashi are similar to each other in that their partner is so OP, they created ANOTHER LIVING, BREATHING BEING.
I mean, Shunsui was just playing him the whole time. Starrk was being honestly respectful though.

Tekking Loneliness Tumble
The thing is, if Kubo wanted to bring Starrk back into the story, Starrk’s power to split his soul would let him do it in a way that wouldn’t even be all that ass-pully. Just make it so Starrk split another portion of his soul off at some point before Fake Karakura.
It would explain why Starrk’s fight seems so underwhelming- he’s not fighting at full strength because he literally doesn’t have it with him. Maybe the reason could be that Aizen told him to do it so his Reiatsu wouldn’t kill everyone again or something, idk. But it’d be nice to have more time with Starrk given how underused he was for how hype he should have been given his Espada rank.

Similar in nature Loneliness and solitude. Yet solitude is had in peace and contentment.
Youll often find shunsui laying under a tree gazing at the sky in blissfull solitude. And maybe with some sakè .
But I admire the strength in both .
Perhaps in another world, both Shunsui and Starrk would've been sharing tea together.
Iirc, other fans in other vids said if they were able to talk it out, Starrk would probably have gotten to the former's side.
@@sixteenthbluemoon7606 I can easily see that happening . Shunsui has an innate respect for sentient life but as a captain he also upholds his duty . To slay hollows . Perhaps if as head captain he met Starrk things would be different because then he'd have the power to choose peace cause all Starrk wanted was a friend someone who could comprehend him and exist near him. And shunsui would view that as an innocent desire/goal. To want a friend. Shunsui would respect such a goal/desire . Being the head captain no one would argue that an Espada/Vasto Lord and a captain co exist. If I remember correctly in the blood war arc Kisuke was helped and helps Grimjjaw and no fuss was made..
And I feel that upon sharing tea together a unique and strong bond would be formed. Like a ying and yang kinda deal . A bond rooted in both the darkness (hollow) and the light (shinigami).
@@Luna-se9ln Maybe from there, we see the flaw in Yamamoto's philosophy of slaying Hollows, like in another world where there are those who'd rather kill Youkai and others would want coexistence.
Bleach Downfall (fanfic) actually illustrates this properly imo, except there are characters who have switched roles.
And yeah, if and if Shunsui became the head captain a little earlier than expected, even if the action is gone except it's gonna come from the quincies. Like you said, changes would be that it'll be a little easygoing with the quincies. The new conflict would come from both sides as others struggle for not coexisting and coexisting, developing their characters further.
And yep, Kisuke brought Grimmjow and Nelliel in for the fun and fights although they were only briefly seen.
@@sixteenthbluemoon7606 I totally agree . Yamamoto philosophy is old school I guess . With Yamaji there is the good and then theres the bad . Nothing in between .There is no co existence. Same with the quincy . Yamaji tends to condemn the man based on the kind of creature they are . Fair to a certain point. Good for.upholding order. But this is where I feel shunsui is greater . He judges a person not by their species ie hollow quincy human. No he judges them based on the persons actions words morals values and heart. He treats every individual. Individually. Granting them respect if its due . This is where I feel he is a greater captain and a greater character

Tekking cringe was so strong that he had to split himself into 2, Berry and "Tekking".
It is said that the cringe his original form emits was so high no one could survive it, therefore making tekking very lonely and resulting in him splitting and creating berry.
sadly, his battle against seththeprogrammmer and caleb meant berry got destroyed, and so he willingly let his youtube account get terminated

Huh did anyone just realized that Haschwalth got the same treated as Starrk, but worse. Starrk at least got to fight, but Haschwalth didn't get a fight to see. Like Starrk, Haschwalth got this major build up being the Grandmaster of the SternRitter, but got nothing not even an Bankai fight either. SternRitter the got to see a Bankai were... Yhwach, Uryu, Pernida, Askin, Bambietta, As Nodt, Bazz-B, Cang Du, Kirge, BG9, Gerard, Driscoll, Mask, Lille, and Royd.

I think the reason Stark didn't get a cover page, is so because he is a loner. Get it? He was the only major Espada to not get one. So he's the lone guy without the cover page.

I doubt Studio Pierrot would let go of the IP even after all this time. But with how dirty they did the Black Clover anime, to the point where the director had to carry the show by himself, I would Bleach far away from them and give it to studioes like Studio Mappa, Madhouse, Bones, or any of the more credible companies.

The Characterization of Coyote Starrk is such a great and powerful story. My favorite character from Bleach; This is why Tekking is better with talking all the points and themes for Narratives.
The thing that always dissapointed me was that we never got see neither Segunda Etapa Ulquiorra nor Starrk's Grand Rey Cero
I always wondered if Ulquiorra's Grand Rey Cero would've won him the battle against White/Ichigo.
I think the top 4 Espada are pretty interchangeable in strength. And yammy doesn’t count, he was a joke.
In rew strength and Reiatsu he was the strongest but he was a fucking idiot. He didn't master basic Arrancar abilities like Pesquisa of whatever it was called.
He could've developed a cover with Stark and Lillinette back to back in a cool pose like the one with Ichigo and Rukia you highlighted at 6:18.That would have been cool.
Since technically they are both no. 1.
Outside of Grimmjow and Ulquiorra, I never felt that any of the Espada lived up to the hype given to them and seemed more wasted potential as characters than anything else. Starrk being the most visible example of this.
He never felt like the Number 1 Espada. And the story didn't give him really enough to do to make the most of his concept.
In my first watch through of the show when I was just a teen, I loved Grimmjow and Ulquiorra but never really looked at the other Espadas much. But after watching it again Stark easily became my favorite Espada. I’ll never forget the scene where Lilynette dies.
Lawrence Diaz ironic as that was only in the anime version. In the manga both Lily and Stark fused together and both died together. It’ll be interesting to see what if they were not going to die. 🤔
Starrk was the only character in bleach that I related to so hard, it made me cry. That kind of crushing loneliness that just leaves room for nothing else. Having nobody in this world, no purpose, no meaning. Life just becomes survival. It was a dark time in my life. The only comfort you really have at that point is that, like it or not, it ends.

Unless the books are the size of ASOIAF or something, even a slow reader should be able to get through a book per week.
@@kana22693 depends on your free time but yes it doesnt take long to read....my point was that fans like me where reading one at the time and then waiting 1/2 years for the next release...he never read them and all 7 books are available now so he´s able to read the entire books series for the first time in just a few months....IM SO FREAKING JEALOUS xD

Are we ever gonna talk about Tosen using Ressureccion? Cuz that seems like a pretty big deal
Since aizen perfected creating arracars (he can even create an arancar for a spessific purpose), it seems normal to me that he can also create a more perfect version of hollofication (a version that can use resurrection).
@@viktorwillyam But Ressureccion is specific to Arrancar. Think about it, Tosen was a shinigami who became a vizard who used a Hollow ability to regain it's natural power. He essentially used a form of hollowfication beyond hollowfication and that's so fucking cool. Can he still use his bankai in that state? If he is purified does he go back to being a plus? Can other Vizards learn the ability or is it a form that is only possible through Aizen's use of the hogeyoku(butched that spelling). Seriously it is such a cool concept that is never touched on again, and would hav been a nightmare for the Quincy's to deal with.
Like imagine one stealing Love's bankai but him going Ressureccion instead, immediately poisoning the Quincy because they now hav hollow Reiatsu in them. So cool
jdizzy192 if you think about it ichigo’s vasto lord form can be considered his resurrection. But again remember that the vizards were considered a “failed” experiment by aizen, which makes you wonder what a successful hollofication would look like (tossen). And aizen was studying this subject for hundreds of years probably, so it stand to reason that by the time the anime starts he could create a hollowfication with a resurrection
@@viktorwillyam I always thought his Vasto Lorde form was more Zangetsu going into panic mode because Ichigo was in trouble and fully supressing the Quincy portion of Ichigo in order to "help" him, I.e. operate at 100% of Ichigos potential, sans the Quincy part, to body anyone that gets too close.
That said, even though the Vizard's are failed experiments they, with Urahara's help, hav learned to control their inner hollow. Could they naturally progress to the next stage or would it take some outside force for them to advance
jdizzy192 kubo loves to introduce badass transformations and concept, but only to be shown once and never again. So In theory yeah all vizords could do that vasto lord thing. But ishigo is different because his hollow coms from his quincy mom... it’s a complicated plot.

I didn't realise until this video, but all of the espada that died were killed by their own aspect of death. Starrk died right after he lost Lillinette (loneliness), Barragan was killed by his own Respira/Ageing ability, Szayel went mad because of Mayuri's drug, etc. Maybe the only way to kill an espada is to use their aspect of death against them.

While there’s definitely discussions on Ulquoirra surpassing him based on the sheer power of his second release, Barragan having a broken ability due to how metaphysical it can get or Yammy due to his highest reiatsu/raw power. Starrk is the most “evolved”/advanced of the Espada. The rest of them are very monstrous in their released forms or at the very least, their animal motifs are apparent. Starrk from a visual standpoint is trading his standard uniform with a katana for an ornate cowboy western outfit with guns that can fire multiple Ceros at once, summon exploding fully formed energy wolves and swords if he’s pushed to a corner. From that along, Starrk seems to be fighting on another plane of existence while the rest fight with the more basal energy attacks, regeneration and bizarre Hollow unique powers. With the obvious exceptions being Harribel with her Soul Realer Zanpakuto -esque water manipulation and Barragan’s aging powers.
Loved this channel 4-5 years ago and I love it now😂✊🏾
Forget the bounts and their arc I hope for a reboot in order to relive the great moments and see a beautiful redoing of the animation and to introduce my friends to the series.

Kenpachi split his soul. The soul was yachiru who had her own shikai. Then yachiru disappears when kenpachi goes bankai.
Stark split his soul and got lillinet. Lillinet had her own release. Stark uses resurrection but lillinet doesn't disappear. Does that indicate stark had a second release🤔

It was something to keep us interested. The fact that he was able to defeat the number one Espada without Bankai was basically a foreshadowing of how strong he really is.

I actually really liked the pacing of Shunsui and Stark’s battle. They’re both strong, if not the strongest, staples within their respective organizations and to see them take it slow and strategic proves their strength even more and is a pleasant refresher against all the other big awesome flashy battles
I mean, he fought 2 masked vizards(which are basically bankai sized amps)+ they had shikai on. He also fought shunsui and jushiro who fought shikai Yama.
I think he did well.

Also, IF it is a pickup of the anime it NEEDS to be supervised by Kubo to some extent to fill out all the rushed material from the manga. This arc could be GODLY if properly spaced

I want a remake of the manga. The soul society arc was the best one and then just went downhill fast after.
I REALLY liked the tone of the first arcs but I think later arcs got more and more interesting. I also think they already adapted the first arc good enough and it couldn't get much better.
Espada/battle for karakura is my fav arc. So many good fights and characters getting to shine besides Ichigo

Its been almost 10 years since FKT happened in the manga and there are still days where I wakeup and my heart is broken as I remember Starrk and Lilinette final moments.
My fav character deserved better. Rest in piece to Coyote Starrk and Lilinette I'm glad he was at least able to find peace in his end.
You know, I don't even watch your videos when they come out since I'm busy. But I never hesitate to leave a like and then come back and watch it when I have time because of the effort and enthusiasm in all of your content.
