God has wrapped his arms of grace and peace around you and your family. You are a precious mother, and you bring tears to my eyes watching how much you love your family. Grace and Love to all of the Hamm family
Well said my friend. With all the recent terrible acts inflicted upon children it’s so very heartwarming to watch this wonderful family. As a Mother I would walk through burning coals to protect my children from any harm. As it should be. This family reaffirms my belief in goodness and love for family. ❤
phew!!! i'm exhausted. Such love and commitment and determination and success! Your Family is very fortunate that you so linear and seemingly unflappable. You are blessed with everything it takes, and much more, to be a fantastic mother. ❤ I applaud you
As a retired L & D nurse, I’m impressed with( the level of care you have gotten. L&D nurses are a special breed as are NICU nurses. We all love our jobs, our moms, babies, dads and families. It doesn’t matter where you live or hospital you use, the love and care is there. Take care, thank you for filming and posting in the mist of a very busy life. Violet is beautiful and is a special bonus to your family!
While I do love L & D nurses, I have to say I have a tremendous amount of respect for other specialty nurses as well. I have dealt with so many, and trauma nurses, oncology nurses, and transplant medicine nurses are just a few specialty nurses I have been awed by. Nurses with a passion for what they do are just special no matter what. From the RNs to the CNAs they all love their patients and families and they form incredible teams with the different doctors they work with. So no disrespect intended to L and D nurses. I just wanted to recognize a few others too.
Did anyone else notice how much Lauren literally LIT UP when she looked at Violet laying in her bed? Lauren was GLOWING and the love she has for precious Violet just floods out through the camera. You have such a BEAUTIFUL and loving family, a testament to the great parents they have. Oh how I miss hearing those sweet baby sounds when they are sleeping. Violet will continue to grow and very soon will be able to go home and be showered with the love of her big brothers and the rest of the family. I know the boys are probably anxious to get to see and hold her. May God continue to bless and keep you all in His loving and protective arms.
As a retired NICU RN, may I suggest that you bring home an extra baby hat for Miss Luna, so that she can get used to the baby's scent. People always think of their dogs, but our kitties are important, too! You are doing an amazing job handling all of this, mama. I know how exhausting, but very important, it is to be present for all your children. Violet is precious! I know she is thriving with all your TLC. Sending love and hugs from Savannah, GA.🩷🫂🙏🎀
She looks so much like Everett! Every time I see her precious little face, she just looks more and more like Everett! She’s gorgeous. Congratulations to you and Mark.
When I saw that little smile, I saw Everett. Just precious. So glad Mark can go in to be close. Violet has a loving guardian to adore and cherish her.💜 Despite your exhaustion, autopilot kicks in to manage. You are doing this, just be kind to yourself. Hoping she can come home by end of month. Hope you had a nice Valentine's.
Lauren,The attention and love you give to Miss Violet will pay dividend down the road. Your dedication to your family is inspiring. Thanks for sharing your journey in NICU with us. Much love from Claudette
She’s doing fantastic! My son was in NICU for 34 days. He’s 33 now. It was 1 1/2 hrs to home, so I stayed at Ronald McDonald House. When we brought him home he cried so much in the car. I had my husband turn the light on and he stopped crying. I realized that he wasn’t used to the dark. There are always lights and noise in the communal NICU.
Oh Mama, I’m so tired just watching you! I hope you are able to get some cat naps during all those precious snuggles! My heart melts when I hear her sweet baby sounds that she makes! Yes, we can see how very special Violet is! What a gift she is to all of you! God bless you & your beautiful family! ❤
I just want to add that i`m in complete awe of you Lauren.Little miss Violet is so lucky to have such an amazing mummy ,and a loving nurturing family to come home to.We can see how special this little lady is to you ,all of you ,believe me.🤗🤗🥰🥰
I had a very similar experience with my first birth. It was a long time ago, but seeing you live through this with your girls really takes me back. I too, ended up losing one baby, and delivering the second baby very early. She weighed 3lbs 14oz at birth. We lost her sister at 5 months, and she was born at a little more than 7 months. Today, she is the mother of her own precious children. God is good.
The NICU is an emotional roller coaster, my oldest was in for 29 days, i was unable to hold him for 28 of those, due to the surgery he had.. praying for you and the family. ❤❤❤❤
She is getting her own little personality isn’t she! Her little face is full of expressions. Hopefully she will gain enough weight soon to come home. I wish my boys would let me know they loved me, even visit me would be wonderful. I hope your treasures stay so close to you. I do love those dolls, they are gorgeous.
We feel the same! Old and forgotten is how we feel! You wake up in pain and all alone! A call or email would be nice! We use grocery pickup or delivery and my poor arthritic wife is the only driver now! Our daughter lives close by but works 2 jobs and has a lot of stress! She does call to see if we need groceries but we usually do pickups or deliveries on things we need! Thank God we have a local Target! We have to call more often too! My wife says emailing usually gets a same day response! Do you have any grandchildren? We used to get weekly calls from them, but they don't call either because they are busy! I hope you get a call today! Take care!
These comments broke my heart. I have no parents to help now but I wish they lived longerto help them. . I know people with kids that could do more. It's real sad. Have a good day and know a stranger from Michigan feels your hurt and prays all the kids call you. Bless your hearts
@@daveshoemaker7137 I have 1 Grandson, we get on really well but he lives 800 kms away in another state, we send texts and I drove over there last November and stayed with him and my ex daughter in law with whom I am close.
It is amazing how much you fit into the day with baby Violet. You are blessed by family helping out and being able to spend so long with baby at NICU. It is beautiful. 🙏🏻
Violet is such a precious gift to your family! She is going to be so loved when you get her home! What a special day that will be! Praying for you and your family during this time! God is good! He's been with you through it all!
Good morning Lauren and miss Violet, and Hamm guys !! What busy days for you and Mark .. but look at that sweet beautiful little girl ! She is growing and all the little noises she makes is precious. And I love her beautiful head of black hair ! Thank You letting us spend the day with you and Violet. I’m glad you all have a routine going to get things done ! And a big thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for their help . Blessings to you all.
My daughter and her husband had twin girls at 29 weeks, they spent 90 days going to and spending the whole day in the NICU, she pumped every 2-3 hours around the clock, the girls were very slow to drink from the bottle but had no other health issues…they never took to breastfeeding so she exclusively pumped and bottle fed her milk for a year….she had three freezers full of stored milk and used only those the last few months….the worst part was all the washing and sterilization of parts …. She just had a full term baby boy and is really enjoying all the things she missed out on with her girls … the NICU is a very hard experience and one that you will never forget
Yes it is. I went with my daughter when her daughter was airlifted hours away from home. It’s been almost 7 months now and I’m so glad we didn’t have to be there too long. We’ve been back for a surgery but that was in a different ward. The first stay my granddaughter was on a floor with 80 babies. It was so exhausting. Glad your daughter has been able to enjoy her sons birth.
Hi Cindy, I lived in Kennewick for 20 years, raised my family there. Isn't little Violet the sweetest baby? Just wanted to say hello, have a blessed day!!! 🌷
Dear Lauren, what a fabulous all day video showing your typical day in the NICU. It really gives new meaning to the concept of “nursing.” It’s all encompassing, all day, every day, a disciplined and endlessly organized routine, all centered on baby Violet. A premie needs such tender and constant, thoughtful attention. So much work to pump, sanitize bottles and equipment! And all done with the deepest love and dedication. So inspiring! As a nursing mom years ago I appreciate what it means to nurse a baby, a commitment only a mama can make. Bless your 💜 Lauren!!
Your Little Burrito is growing nicely! I can understand how you feel having to leave your babe overnight to tend to the home front. Soon, you'll be able to pack her up and head for home to stay! Thanks for sharing. Home sick with sinus/vertigo and enjoyed waking up to your routine day. We're like friends though we've never met.
Retired NICU nurse here. You are doing a great job! It’s so nard to juggle everything that needs you. I love your cleanliness around the baby, and how you are able to respect “ the schedule” . Your self care is also one of the best things you can do . Awesome!❤
I had 3 NICU babies and our NICUs here in Australia are nothing as good as this in way of rooms. All are in either open or share rooms, or super small closet size rooms. I just had a hard plastic chair no recliner or arm chair. We were not allowed to stay overnight at all. It is such a long journey and the Drs and nurses are amazing and so caring.
I am always in awe at your strength Lauren. I can’t imagine how exhausting each day feels but as you said, you’re one day closer to bringing her home. I know from your other posts how she’s thriving and getting bigger. Applause to your village for the support your get every day. Thanks for sharing your day. We are here for you even if only in prayer. Love to you all 🙏🏻💜
My son was born at 30 weeks. The NICU diapers and the blood pressure cuff I also kept. He is now 26 yrs old. Your gonna be amazed how fast they grow. Congratulations 💕

Hi Lauren, thank you for bringing us along for a day in the NICU. Violet is so precious and beautiful. I hope baby Violet will be home soon. ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
NICU is challenging, but the experience changes you for the better, I believe. I was there 17 years ago with my youngest son. You are doing such a wonderful job every day. Please feel our prayers for strength for you!

Thanks for sharing you day at the NICU My son was also a premature & was in the NICU in Fl. It was just a big room & I stayed in the Ronald McDonald's house, that place was a blessing for sure! I kept my son's blood pressure cuff & other things. It's so amazing how tiny they are. ❤

This will all be just a memory soon.Soon she will be running and playing. My triplet grandbabies were nicu babies. All small around 3.5 lbs.Four later between 37 and 39 lbs.You would never know they were preemies.Life is chos now.God is good.Violet is a blessing and treasure.Stay safe.
OMG Lauren listening to Violet's little noises choked me up a bit. She is doing so well almost 4 lbs. I'm sure this is hard on you but you got this down pat!! Watching you with your girl you look so content. Keep up the excellent work you two! ❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing time with Violet with us. Enjoy your day.
Hi Lauren! It was so nice to see more of your beautiful little Violet! I wanted to thank you for acknowledging Nurse Practitioners as part of your thanks to your healthcare team. We often are forgotten as we hover between the role of provider and nurse! I worked for 38 years as an OB-GYN CNP, primarily providing prenatal care, and felt so privileged to be a part of this precious and important journey for soon-to-be parents. Although your journey hasn't been easy, you are handling it all with such quiet strength and grace. Sending much love to you and your beautiful family!
Thank you for sharing your day with us. The love shown by each of your family members is such a blessing. Violet is beautiful. You are a wonderful mother.
My husband (Mark also, lol, and a cat treat giver… was in whatever they called the nicu in Miles City Montana in 1954. They took the older twin brother home for some days and left him there on his own. His dad said to me one was enough at once. Mark will still mention how he didn’t get the same bonding time with his mom. It’s a bit of a joke now, but honestly I think it’s actually pretty serious. He was the littlest of 5 kids, and though his relationship with his twin is tight, it’s also fraught at times. He was teased a lot growing up, and always sensitive. Anyway, clear to me through all you’re doing now how very very important it all is. Just breaks my heart in a way… ❤ baby Violet, she’s just the cutest baby ever. Next to my own sweet ones! 😉 Oh gosh our younger daughter is Maggie, named after my husband’s grandma who loved him dearly and always stuck up for him. Best nicest warmest name ever. Always in our hearts for so many reasons. Thank goodness for modern tech, understanding of baby’s needs, attention & fabulous care. Thx for bringing us along, so important to share. I have the feeling more folks need to know what best care looks like. All the love ❤️ to you, sweet Violet and your wonderful family.

My only grandson was just born. 10 weeks early. Ugh!! He'll be in the NICU quite a while. 2 lbs 4 oz's. I just pray a LOT! 🙏🏻
NICU is challenging, but the experience changes you for the better, I believe. I was there 17 years ago with my youngest son. You are doing such a wonderful job every day. Please feel our prayers for strength for you!
With all you have to do Lauren…..you have the most comforting and calming spirit and voice 🥰

You are an awesome mother. You and Mark are awesome parents to all of your children. Don’t doubt that even during this difficult season. ❤
Thank you for sharing your day with us. The love shown by each of your family members is such a blessing. Violet is beautiful. You are a wonderful mother.
Thank you grandma and grandpa for being there for the family. ❤ (and to help with the boys)
Thank you for taking us along with you Miss Violet is absolutely beautiful . ❤️ From Scotland
Just breaks my heart in a way…
❤ baby Violet, she’s just the cutest baby ever.
