My grandson was a lineman for four years. He worked two hurricanes (he was gone 2.5 weeks ) in Louisiana and an ice storm in Oklahoma. They deserve so many prayers and thanks for all they do
My husband worked for a rural REA for 44 years! He went out in any weather! Summer storms, ice, snow!! Sometime had to send trucks to go get him cause he was stuck in snow!! Oh yes we live in the mid west!
It sucks when you have no power!! We invested in a Generac generator about 10 years ago and thank goodness we did!! We live out in the country so we are always the last to get our power back. People always say its too expensive but I'm here to tell ya it's worth every penny!! Take care and God Bless you all from SC!!
From the Philippines here 🙋We're used to power outages here, especially during typhoon season. Never seen snow my entire life, so I find Alaska life fascinating. ❤
Can we all agree that these young boys are so incredibly blessed to have such an amazing beautiful home and beautiful parents and the mom that just amazing And of course a beautiful little baby sister
Yes, every storm is still run rater. Fill containers extra ..and sets. out light things. Flashlights set candles in sinks, which works great. Lay out special foods .and clothing .Just staying safe. And so glad staying safe. 😊😊😊
All the preventatives and supplies are just what us Floridians need during hurricane season. The only difference is the cold. So we can relate to a point.
Northern Michigan here we were at 44 degrees today and rain for the whole weekend We have no snow left I’m thankful for a wood stove to keep my house warm if power does go out in winter Everyone sleeps in the living room to stay warm if it does Safe travels and hope the boys can ski soon
I have a nephew in Florida that’s a lineman and we are so thankful for him..he’s gone north before to help other states besides just his state.i am in Georgia..
Lauren your video make me so happy. Your family and your love for each other is such a blessing. Thank you for sharing your family with us.❤ So thankful that you weathered storm .
Glad your family is doing well and staying safe! Violet is a little trooper! I guess we all learn to adapt when there is no other option! Blessings, Miss Linda 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'm in SC and was very lucky my husband had installed a whole house gas generator about 10 years ago. When Helene came through it paid for itself. We only lost power for 15 mins till I woke him up. My son was without power for 11 days. Lot of people in NC I think still don't have power. Glad ya r safe.
I’m amazed at Bennett’s inclination to take responsibility without being asked. Mystery of the covers solved ✅ Im looking forward to seeing Hunter’s skiing races! Fun video ❤ 90 K subscribers! Whoot Whoot! Your hard work is paying off!
Glad you made it through the rough weather. Being without power is not fun. Since hurricane Helene did so much damage here in Virginia ours goes out frequently because of all the downed trees laying around. Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the upcoming holidays. Thinking of you often in the days ahead. ❤
I’ve been watching for about 4 years now. Out of all the families I watch I love yours the most. You all have an amazing honest personality and show what’s really happening. My goss violent is getting so big. And so is the boys. ❤
Lauren, when you described the wind, I thought oh my your experiencing Oklahoma's winds....LOL! Having a gas stove is a good thing. You have the capability of cooking/baking when the electric goes out. The next best thing is having a generator. We have a generator. We have the gas grill, it's outside. We don't have a gas stove for cooking inside. One day we will!!
Yes crazy December weather it’s 50 degrees today 10/28 and tomorrow it’s to be 60 and then back to 37 degrees next week with snow again in WV. Glad everyone survived the windstorm and ice!!
Great adventure. We're also having a very wet rainy winter in Boise. Forty, fifty degrees most day's. So fun to watch Bennett helping you cook. He's a natural. Wishing snow for you all....I'll just hope we keep rain here. This old Alaskan is enjoying NOT shoveling snow. Lol
I live in NE and we get horrible winters, with lots of wind and ice storms. When we built our house, we said that we wanted a gas range. Most people here have electric for some reason. The builder kind of hassled us on it but I insisted, it is my house that I am paying after all. I LOVE my gas range. You have so much better control over the temperature and we have been able to use it a couple of times during power outages here. All of our friends would comment on how lucky we are to have a gas range.
As always thank you for bringing me along. I live in Northern California and the weather is similar to what you are experiencing there. High winds, rain, snow at 5-7,000 feet, etc. They call these weather patterns atmospheric rivers and we have had many. Stay safe! See you on your next video!
I'm glad they were able to get the power back on safely. I'm in southern Wisconsin and your temps are warmer than here. We have had 2 days of rain, all the snow is melted which made my 4 year old granddaughter cry. We might have snow in 3 or 4 days, maybe.
We lose electric at least 2 times a year in north west new jersey. If I know a storm is coming i fill freezer bags with water and put them in the freezer. We have a generator this is incase electric goes out at night we don't need to worry. I love seeing your family ❤
You could wash Violet's face of mashed potatoes with a wet wipe. I'm sure you use them. Happy Holidays. God bless you all and many prayers 📿 😇 🙏🏻 ✨️ ✝️ nurse Judi in Scottsdale and E Minister 🙏🏻 ❤️ ✝️ 😇
You have the most kindest thoughtful children, they do a lot, not because they have to, but to me, I’m sure they love to do it… you must be super proud, I am, and they’re not even my kids… well done for being such great parents
This weather is crazy for you. I live in 🇨🇦Calgary, Alberta🇨🇦and after 25 cm of snow in two days a few weeks ago it has been warming up and we have been enjoying a Chinook. We now have lots of brown grass and little snow. Right now it is+6 C outside. Cheers!
Glad you got your power back! Crazy December weather here in Montana too…still waiting on the cold and snow! First thing we did when we bought our place here was to install a woodstove and get our generator set up on a transfer switch. I also have a large tote in the entry closet with paper plates, headlamps, flashlights and battery operated lanterns. Behind the couch we have two weeks of drinking water.
Lauren, you’re a better woman than me. I’ve been out through windstorms hurricanes, blah, blah blah, and I’m just not there anymore. Oh my goodness, you guys are tougher than me.
This is all because of La Niña. We haven’t had any rain in Southern California. Not even cold this year. I am glad you all made it through the storm and being without electricity. Thank God He watches over you.
No electricity and making do with what you have is great experiences for the kids growing up. They learn common sense and remain calm like Mom and Dad do! Miss Violet is growing like crazy!
I’m so glad Everyone is safe Mark got home safely and You and the Boys got to go to the School and do Homework and Practice and You and the Boys got back safely Thank you Jesus 🙏🏻❤️
Wow, it has been warmer here 50 today. All our snow melted before Christmas. We didn't have much, and it is very gloomy out. lots of rain. I am in the Midwest.
Here in Louisiana we are under a severe thunderstorm and tornado 🌪️🌪️ watch until 3pm. No way would I have taken my family out in that weather. Homework could have waited lol. Yesterday it was almost 80 but that typical for here lol We really appreciate the linemen who come to get power back on after a hurricane. We as a neighborhood makes sure we stock up on water and BBQ for them. We don't allow anyone to open the fridge or freezer when our power goes out. Here I decide if my grandson goes to school after a bad bad rain storm. I hate not having cold weather during the winter. We also fill my washer with ice when a hurricane is coming to put water bottles in and some soda. I have jugs of water to flush toilets. Again we appreciate our linemen and every one that comes in from other states!! Be Blessed
Funny part is that the boys will remember the “light’s out” day/night for a long time. You can plan for memories but, nights like these will be a treasure.
We live in rural Australia, we never get snow but even in summer our storms cause major outages the longest being 2 days. Thank goodness for generators xx
I’m from Sri Lanka ..I love Alaska life.. it’s an adventure but it’s a beautiful life out there .. having so lovely supportive kids are so much is a blessing .. May god bless you all .. ❤
I love hearing about and watching all that happens in Alaska and how it affects your family. You always manage everything with such grace. Thanks for sharing such positive and inspiring footage. The fact that your older son knew and cared enough to bring in the grill covers shows us that you are raising such strong and thoughtful men. I look forward to each and every post! May God continue to bless you and your family. ❤ U all!
Glad you guys stayed safe...in KY we get wind gusts up to 70 + miles an hour...sometimes sustained winds almost that high for hours...I live in a rural wooded area with lots of trees...downed branches and trees can reek havoc for sure
We live north of Houston but close enough to be affected by hurricanes and other storms with high winds and potential flooding. We are very grateful for our electrical power company and the brave workmen who work under very challenging conditions at time. So glad that your weather looks a little better, but this has got to be a challenge to deal with! Prayers for you!
This a good reminder that you should be prepared for no electricity. No matter where you live. Like candles etc. Plus of where you live. We never get snow. But if you do, you might want a lot of extra blankets etc😊
You can tell how you guys know how to handle these kinds of things. You're well prepared. You're braver than I am I probably would have hunkered down at home with the fire places and the generator. We used to have to deal with high winds, snow and such in new Mexico and southern Oregon. Lots of games by candlelight. At least the kids know how to handle emergencies. And I can handle most too. More people need to get the skills.
We have a stand alone generator that has a box outside that it sits in with a solar panel on it to keep the battery charged. We manually start it as it runs on gasoline. We fill it about 8 hours a tank. Runs the important things in the house for the most part. Glad you are all safe.
We live in Tennessee and don’t get much snow. We do have ice storms and freezing rain which causes limbs to break onto lines. And definitely wreaks havoc with the roads.
❤❤❤ Winter is definitely different this year here in Wisconsin as well. We've had rain and warmer than normal temps here the last couple of days on top of 6+ inches of snow we had and our yard currently looks a lot like yours! 😊
We have another big storm coming tonight on the Oregon coast. 3inches of rain 65mph gusts. It has also warm here tonight it’s 60 degrees. Warmer than normal.
Here in BC we have had an atmospheric river storms. Really high winds and really heavy rain. We had no snow for Christmas just a storm warning. Some ppl on the island lost power for Christmas. I have thought of getting a generator that works on natural gas. I use my fireplace a lot during the cold weather too. Hope you had a merry Christmas.
I like the candles they have now that take batteries and are on timers..we have a whole house generator that turns on immediately in a power failure, its awesome
-10 Celsius 😮 I would love that weather. Never seen, touched smelled snow. Summer here in Australia well our State in Australia and it's ugh. Be safe Beautiful Soul's. 💝💙💙💙💙💙💓👼🐈❄❄⛄🤗

Northern Iowa here. We had 40's and 82" of rain yesterday. Today is in the 50's, sunny and no wind. I was outside walking with no hat, gloves nor my coat zipped. Glorious weather but, like you, we know it can't last. January is just around the corner!!!

I so agree with you, I know wonderful person. Lineman is beyond a blessing.
Living in Florida we can empathize with power outages. We really appreciate the lineman!! They are a blessing.
My husband worked for a rural REA for 44 years! He went out in any weather! Summer storms, ice, snow!! Sometime had to send trucks to go get him cause he was stuck in snow!! Oh yes we live in the mid west!
I thank your husband for the job he does for all of us.
Those guys are true heroes!!! Thank God for them!
I just love how your boys help in the kitchen and with Violet! You and Mark are wonderful parents! ❤
It sucks when you have no power!! We invested in a Generac generator about 10 years ago and thank goodness we did!! We live out in the country so we are always the last to get our power back. People always say its too expensive but I'm here to tell ya it's worth every penny!! Take care and God Bless you all from SC!!
I bought a generic whole house generator. It was the best investment. I loved it would kick right in and ran off propane.
I’m glad you shared this because I’m thinking about getting one.
We have this problem in Ireland too. Lots of rain and wind storms. We have our own generator thankfully
@@jasonandstephaniewise5068 you wont be sorry!!
Violet watching Everett dance, she's like" hey, I wanna dance too 💃 " . So adorable!
She has started to move to the music and I love it so much!

Good morning from Kentucky. Where our weather is bipolar in the 60s for the last few days and for a few days more. Then in the 20s after that lol
Good morning Lauren ❤, stay safe beautiful family.

Glad you and your made it
through the windstorm
My son has always wanted to try the 49th state brewing soda. 😊
Happy everyone is ok.Happy New Year.
I wanted you to be able to just stay home safe. So sorry for the storm. God bless.
Glad for an extra video, but sorry for the yucky weather, good to see you made it thru. Congratulations on 90k😊❤👏🏻
Thanks! So grateful for 90k amazing friends!
I’m in Portland Oregon and it’s been such a mild winter here too in the mid to upper 50s
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Thank you for the Fill Your Bath tip
I like the candles they have now that take batteries and are on timers..we have a whole house generator that turns on immediately in a power failure, its awesome
-10 Celsius 😮 I would love that weather. Never seen, touched smelled snow. Summer here in Australia well our State in Australia and it's ugh. Be safe Beautiful Soul's. 💝💙💙💙💙💙💓👼🐈❄❄⛄🤗
Happy day of fam❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing the different weather conditions in Alaska. Everyone always seems to make the best of it
Thanks for sharing. Take care from Cape Cod❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Here in western NC the linemen are always our heros, but never more than during the aftermath of Helene this fall. We were in Alaska this past summer and loved the Spruce Tip and Blueberry Frontier Sodas- wish I could get them here in NC.
Glad you got to try them! Such a fun Alaska treat. Someone once ordered some online, not sure if they still do it.
Thanks for sharing another video and I love how you make the best of things when your power is out. I bet that happens alot in Alaska. The moose steaks look delicious and the boys are great about helping and pitching in. Baby Violet seems her happy self no matter what
Northern Iowa here. We had 40's and 82" of rain yesterday. Today is in the 50's, sunny and no wind. I was outside walking with no hat, gloves nor my coat zipped. Glorious weather but, like you, we know it can't last. January is just around the corner!!!
