I waited a couple of years to get my blue SD. I absolutely love it and it came in time for Christmas. The only reason I got a shot at buying it, is because I have built a 10’year relationship with my AD and have purchased over 30 pieces to include a few really high end ones such as a Patek 5990. I absolutely love the SD and the blue really sets it off.

I just bought this wonderful beautiful blue Skydweller from an AD, but have to admit I was very lucky. I just happened to walk into a dealer in Asia, and they had a black and a blue in their show case. It took me approximately half a second to buy the blue one (although the black was a handsome specimen as well). You're right it is special and different. And I agree, the blue on blue, is what truly sets this beauty aside from the rest of the Rolexes. I say: Keep it!

I own both the white Daytona and the blue Sky-Dweller...and both direct from an AD. I could get 3 white Daytonas in the span of one blue Sky-Dweller. I even have the black dial Daytona and the yellow gold emerald green dial...which is arguably harder to get than the blue Sky-Dweller right now. I got lucky on that one. The blue Sky-Dweller is definitely harder to get than the white Daytona right now. I got the first one that hit my AD but it took just over 6 months for them to get one after I asked and it was months before that that they saw the last one. All of my Daytonas came in relatively quickly.
Paying over retail for Rolex Sports watches gives me sleepless nights but there is something about this I really like. Eric is a very cool cat and I enjoy all his videos. I like he bought a watch he loves purely for enjoyment and not for economic reasons. I hope you get a buzz every time you look at your Skydweller for the time.
Lovely watch, it suits you. I really wanted one a year ago but when I tried it on I realized how big and chunky it is. My wrist isn't big enough. I bought an Omega Globemaster blue dial in steel instead for a fraction of the price and loving it as you also don't see many around. Great video by the way.
I feel your pain. Been wanting a blue Stainless SD since it was released. I have connections too and tried to get a deal. Schemings and conniving, calling in favors, begging for over two years. No dice. Finally bit the bullet and paid the dam premium. Prices have slipped a little as of late but no one is giving these things away. You can get a unworn fullset blue dial SD for 20.5k if you really look hard and have cash. Nice watch you should really think about keeping it. This Rolex will be one that attains cult status and astronomical future prices
Julii believe it or not I get more compliments on the DJ than my rootbeer or submariner. I got lucky picking it up before it became an allocated piece. The funny thing was it was in the display case, my sales guy called me and I bought it 30 minutes later-happy hunting!
Eric you are the best! You could rent the watch to some trustworthy clients or friends of yours after a while...make good money and when you are totally bored with it sell it. This way you will have massive profit. For example : I come to you and say, look I love the watch but maybe I buy and after a few days I'll be bored so I rent it from you for 3000 dollars for 4 days or 5 you decide. After that period I will know if I really want it or not.
May i ask if this watch is between 32k - 35k CAD $ , how much is the real value if you wanna sell it back to a dealer? How much does he pay for a watch like that? 28k? Thanks
Been on the list for it, delivery 2 to 3yrs given that deliveries of the blue do not increase, was offered the white and black one within 3 to 6 months, but that's in Europe Also being told by the AD that they simply get more SS Daytonas per delivery than SkyD in general, so much for demand and supply
And almost 2 years later, it is even more difficult to get than it was in Feb 2020. Just got mine from an AD last month...black dial with jubilee bracelet. So much more attractive than oyster bracelet. And best thing is, I paid Rolex retail price.

Beautiful watch. I believe it’s extremely overvalued but it is a beautiful watch. I’ve always liked the Sky-Dwellers in particular the rose gold version. The problem is that you could get a rose gold Royal Oak for the same price which I feel is the better watch. But I would definitely consider a black or blue steel SkyD if and when the price comes down to a more reasonable 15-16. If I were to spend 22-23k on a steel Rolex it would have to be the white ceramic Daytona since I believe this is the one that will do better in the long run. The steel Daytonas have always been limited and while the steel SkyDwellers are heavily limited today that may not always be the case.
Nice watch Eric! You made the right choice to buy it! Do some reviews on other watch brands like Blancpain, Urwerk, Omega, HYT, MB&F, or Konstantin Chaykin please. A few examples. I am curious what is your take on them. Cheers!

I'm going to buy the two tone with either a black or champagne dial. It's the only Rolex I'd buy in two-tone metal; the most modern Rolex, and most complicated in the classic colours.

I have the white dial, paid £2k over retail but part exchanged a Sub Date for £2k over what I paid for it so in essence I got the SD for retail. It’s a Jan 2020 & came full set fully stickered, obviously came through the back door of an AD. I love the watch & it’s more versatile than the blue dial. Both stunning watches & I’m well pleased with mine.
