A lot of women are unable to be emotionally (and financially) independent, they need the support and validation of a man, to "survive". And there's a classic scenario, which i lived myself: after a few years, the man starts to focus again on his hobbies and goals, and the woman perceives that as a life threatening abandonment...and then the cheating/monkeybranching follows. It is indeed very common. However, i still think that this kind of women have some form of attachment issues.
