    Second rounders are obviously light for Jabari, substitute pick 7 for them and I still do the deal! Any other ideas?

    There's no way Portland gets Smith for Jerami and two second-round picks.

    Aa an Atlanta Hawks fan i proposed a trade for Grant, Ayton, Brogdan for Capela (exp) Hunter, Okungwu, Bogdanavic (team option in a year) you guys could then turn around and move Capela & Bogdanavic keep Hunter & Okungwu 2 top 10 picks to build with your young core. Its gonna be hard to move Grant with out any unwanted contacts coming back. About half of Hawks fans were cool with the trade. The other half had a problem with the uncertainty of Ayton mindset and Grants contract. A lot are like your fans not understanding trade rules,team continuity, salary tax implications etc.

    It’s always fascinating to see how other teams fans value their guys. I personally think you guys are overvaluing Grant in a pretty severe way. He is an asset imo so it’s not a Lavine situation. However, he’s value is not nearly as high as you seem to think. This first trade MAYBE works if you swap Smith out with Tari Eason. I still doubt they do it because I doubt Udoke values Garland that much, but at least it’s then a somewhat reasonable trade

    Houston would definitely asks for #7 or #14 if they send Jabari..but realistically they will trade all their picks over Jabari.. and they would go for a legit PG over PF/SF

    Should have traded him yesterday..

    @edgarpc8648 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That second trade is money, I can definitely see that happening.
    In that first trade, Cavs would probably want Simons to replace DG and our #14 pick on top of JG. Losing two starters would be so bad for us but I think Jabari is worth it.
    The Rockets should be happy about getting an all star PG but idk, maybe their front office doesn’t value him that much after his terrible playoff performance.

      @bobby6427 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We would just keep DG… and we have Mitchell we don’t want picks. If Mitchell is leaving .. we would take picks. And you’d be renting Mitchell. If we traded DG to you.. I don’t think you guys have a single thing the Cavs want that you’d wanna part with. (Sharpe) DG has proven more than sharpe but I don’t think blazers would do it cause fit / potential and DG value is lower. The grant / brooks trade makes more sense based on what we need. But losing strus in it makes it not great. TBH if you could do grant and ayton (double salary dump) idk how y’all feel about him. These 2 guys are what we need. A big off the bench, with some offense. Defense can be whatever and a nice wing/frontcourt guy. But idk if just DG makes the money right and idk how high Portland ppl are on ayton

      @@bobby6427 Portland wouldn’t want DG or Mitchell, we already have a surplus of guards. We would also never trade anyone on a rookie contract, so Sharpe and Scoot are off the table.
      Don’t you guys have Mobley and Allen? Adding Ayton to be a pure bench guy would be silly, he makes $35 million a year. But yea, I wouldn’t be opposed to trading both Grant and Ayton for essentially Jabari.
      It just feels like the Rockets would immediately say no so the whole trade would go down the gutter.

    • @bobby6427
      @bobby6427 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@edgarpc8648 yeah he’s expensive but he’s what we need tbh. We have needed a backup big for 3 years. And we usually have injuries to Mobley or Allen. He’d get a lot of minutes. And maybe even some 4 which he’s always wanted. I agree it’s a lot of cash. But we’re paying max strus like 16 Ms lol. Yeah makes sense DG would have to go to rockets still like that first trade. And Cavs might be looking to move Allen so getting Ayton is interesting. And like u said sharpe untouchable I totally get it. I don’t really want anyone I’m just engaging hahaha. Tbh I think the Cavs are gonna run back our core 4 or maybe only move Allen. But we will see

      @@edgarpc8648 to me as a Cavs fan they’ve avoided getting a backup big for 3 years. And we’re small 1/3 positions. We need length at the 3 if we’re gonna stick with dg and Mitchell.
      Most Cavs fans want Ingram idk tho.

    Draft is over, Blazers got their big man, what about trade with Dallas nos, Blazers could get Kleber and may be even Josh Green, Mavs get Jerami Grant, how do you like it?

    Why would Houston do this when they got Fred vanfleet?

  • @florida1289
    @florida1289 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    So let me get this straight Detroit is going to trade for Grant and is 100+ contract after they just traded him away because they decided they weren't going to extend him? Oh and you want Detroit 5th pick too?
    Oh and you want in return an Evan Fournier expiring 20 million contract too?
    This makes no sense for Detroit. You would need to attach draft capital next to Grant because of that contract unless youre taking back another awful contract yourself.
    Otherwise Grant is untradable until he becomes an expiring contract.

    • @edgarpc8648
      @edgarpc8648 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Grant contract isn’t even that bad tf, he averages 21pts/4 asts on insanely good efficiency and great defense.
      He’s a 40% three point shooter and a great shot creator. He gives Detroit everything they’re looking for in a veteran player.
      You have MPJ on the nuggets making the same amount of money and averaging 11 pts against the wolves. $30-$35 million a year is what is expected of a third option tier player on a team. That just the NBA now, it’s not the late 2000’s where Kobe Bryant was making 30 million a year as the 1st option on a championship team. Major players are getting 50-60 million a year nowadays.
      Fred VanVleet makes $45 million a year 😂, thats just the state of current NBA salaries these days.

    If the Rockets are this stupid, it's a good trade for the Blazers. In fact, this 3 team trade is only good for the Blazers and absolute trash from a Cavs and Rockets POV. No chance in hell, will you trade a 6'10'' faceup big with defensive switch-ability FOR a diminutive, no defense, no fight PG in Darius Garland.
    Rockets are better off just drafting Sheppard at 3, he at least has a sense of defensive awareness.

    • @KyouOneZilla

      This would leave the Rockets with only 3 "bigs" in Sengun, Londale and Boban(if resigned and who doesn't really play at all), leaving Tari Eason, Amen Thompson, and Cam Whitmore to play extremely small power forward spot. Then have Garland, VanVleet, and Jalen Green all trying to use the same ball that should also be going to Sengun. Good trade for Portland and Cleveland though. The only way this trade would work for Houston is for them to take Steven Adams off and then do a sign and trade with Jabari Smith or add Jae'Sean Tate instead

    Jerami Grant has ZERO trade value. Huge contract, only plays half a season, literally can do nothing other than socre inefficiently, half the time doesnt even compete or show a shred of emotion. Get him out of here, but don't expect a single valuable asset in return.

    • @ostalkowitzer
      @ostalkowitzer 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s not zero. But it is much lower than they are thinking. I was thinking Jerami Grant for Tari Eason plus a low end future first plus salary filler. Something like that

    • @crazekananas
      @crazekananas 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ostalkowitzer maybe if he was on a respectable contract, he could have some value. He is not a third option on a winning team, he arguably isn't a starter on a winning team. Yet he is paid like a second-option. There are a lot of other questions teams will have like can he play more than half a season? Why has he personally chose to play for tanking teams the past 4 seasons? Does he have any actual leadership qualities or skills outside of scoring?

    • @ostalkowitzer
      @ostalkowitzer 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@crazekananas All solid concerns and valid points. I definitely think he’s a starter. You’re probably right about him not being a 3 though. He’s a number 4 or 5 guy on a good team right now. Which makes his contract/age even more concerning.
      So maybe he’s worth a little less than I was initially thinking but it’s somewhere close because he does have a unique skill set. OG is going to get crazy money this offseason and they are similar players(not the same, just similar skill sets). I just don’t think he’s in the same boat as Lavine. He has more value than that for sure

      when the new tv deal comes in, max contract guys are going to be making 70 to 80 mil PER YEAR. Jerami grants contract is not that bad moving forward and you’re getting a 40% 3 point shooter who would excel being the 3rd option on a competitive team.

    • @crazekananas
      @crazekananas 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@FromTheLogo to put it in perspective, teams will be looking for Grant to play an Aaron Gordon type of role. AG makes 22/year and is a much more impactful role player than Grant at 35/year. The TV deal isn't going to make it much better, it's still 35 mil to someone who's best role is 6th man on a winning team.
