I fail to see the point. There is the four noble truths traits here to accept he is causing his own demise until he gets out of that situation by acknowledging and taking another route. Still the story itself is a bit harsh, or maybe over simplified. He is willing to solve things by force, threats, violence and blackmail - which is quite different than solving by virtue. In the end he marries the very source of his problems (which is kinda marrying the drug he is addicted to). If I fuss hard enough I find only the 4 noble truths here (and, again, with effort, which is kinda counterintuitive). Maybe some clarification on the moral value to be learnt here? I’m not sure on what’s there to assimilate, I’m having a hard time to admire this story and it influences on the values it can add to me. Or maybe it’s better suited to other dimensions of my mind that I am very disconnected from, and can’t even grasp the value as this other dimension is capable of a - meaning it’s not meant to me.

For me this story all about challenging forbidden city . Tiflis - Beauty and fall in love, are the symbol of knowledge like apple in heaven. God said to Adam eat and drink everything you desire but this Apple tree. Lad's father , mother , other merchant warning him about the city of Tiflis and still he doesn't listen not one time but three times until he doesn't have nothing and he access to knowledge of Wisdom .
Moral of the story - your wife will never forgive you for turning her into a donkey. Don't worry, it'll come up at EVERY dinner conversation and argument.
I'm going to be honest. I really disliked this story, the man had no redeeming qualities and wanted such a terrible person to marry? Did I miss the point? I love this channel and this is the only story I've ever heard from here that I didn't like. It seems terribly out of place.
The story is about growing up, learning lessons the hard way when you follow temptation, never giving up to achieve your goals even though it's seems crazy to others, it's about second and third chances, and believing that people learns from their mistakes, it's about what you put out there and how it comes back to you, no matter if it's love or deceitfulness. I can relate a bit with this story. A girl that attracted me used to call me stupid. Every time she walked by, i get a happy feeling and i can't stop smiling or looked at her. I stuck along to see her personality and how she viewed the world. She called me stupid because i was not like other guys. I was not assertive, talkative, or followed the general, social norms. Maybe it was from her upbringing or kind of friends she hung out with. But, i continued to stick with her and stunned her with knowledge, wisdom, and a different view of life. Now she's married to me and is having my 2nd child. She never left my side since and even defended me when others speak ill of me behind my back. To me, the moral is to best a woman you like and she'll follow you wherever you go.
