Just had rotator cuff surgery and throwing left....doing pretty good, but not as good as I do right handed. I was really surprised how well I did right out of the gate.
Never knew this. Mind boggling.
And there's me trying to jump on the band wagon. All this time and effort practicing with my left hand and then I find out its total bullshit
I have actually played league darts against someone who switched to left hand after an injury. He has hit 180 with both!

There may be something in this for real.
If you are right eye dominant, maybe this could help somehow, because you could easily sight the target.
It would force you to use the correct mechanics each time too.
ThAdonis definitely. I'm right handed, threw right handed since I started, and I'm in the process of switching, as I'm blind in my right eye. Throwing with my left hand, I can see what's happening with my follow through and grip. The only issue is building up the strength in my arm to match my right.

actually its not left or right hand its the non master hand. as non master hand tend to be stiffer so less extra movement?
+Mustang ET Well what I am about to tell is not a joke, but I have read on several sites for darts tips on throwing, that throwing with your non-throwing hand for a few weeks seems to improve your throwing hand when switching back. Now I am going to try it. Lets see if in one week I throw better than I throw now XD so this vid isn't all fake it is actually helpful to throw with your left [or right] hand for a while and analysing how you throw with that hand is also helpful that is how you should throw with your right hand aswell why that is I don't know but they say its helpful so this video is no joke at all just as my response if you want proof go visit nicedarts.com and click "Minimize the effects of Dartitis" it is there so well yeah throwing lefthanded indeed is helpful. So is this video completely fake? The players itself throwing with the other hand, it is fake, but the story behind it, well, that is to be doubted about ;)
+Marco K This is why I found this video nearly believable. It's obviously a fake, but there are elements of truth to seeing improvement with your non-master hand. I find that the throw feels much more natural in my arm when I throw left handed, I just have trouble figuring out how to grip and release the dart.
