When I met Bobby he was tired at the end of the night and I asked for an autograph they said he needed to sit down but instead of going through the back he took a seat near the crowd and took me with him and gave me a seat while he did my autograph, an absolute gentleman....a good soul :)
He really seems to be an awesome dude - nice, polite, funny and an absolute gentleman and great sportsman. Today's darts needs more guys like him, not more narcissistic, egomaniac divas like Price, Van Gerwen, Gurney, etc.
Years ago I went in a local pub where Bobby George was doing an exhibition. It was early in the night and he had already scored 18 x 180. He was one of the best in his day. I didn’t stay to watch him play and I wish I had because he is a legend.
I was 11 when Bobby played Eric Bristow in the world darts final. I desperately wanted Bobby to win. You could tell he was a good bloke and he had style. It was a great final and because of Bobby and Eric darts became huge. Shame it’s no longer on the BBC.
Bobby george is a legend. My dad played him in an exibition and he took out 96 with three double 16's. I played him about 10 years later in an exhibition and he beat me with three double 18's. some things never change.
I was absolutely gutted. In the late 80s I was going to turn pro when I was 16. I got my first sponsor when I was 15 in 1985 ( Argos ) I obviously wasn’t meant to get money from them as I was only 15 and still an amateur but I did. I was about to turn pro when I got dartitis and that was that. It wasn’t for another 6 years or so when Bristow got it I finally knew what happened to me. Totally devastated. I had over 50 ten darters before I was 16
sorry to hear that mate, it sounds devistating. Do you think dartitis is linked to anxiety in any way? and can you still play? really sorry to hear your story mate
@@Cappah thanks pal. Definitely dartitis. I tried maybe half a dozen times in the years after that to see if I still had dartitis and it was worse than ever
Bottom line is do what makes you comfortable and eliminate all of the variables that you can. That includes extraneous body movement. Consistency is the most important thing.
Counting: You don't need to learn checkouts; with high numbers, go for treble twenty first and if the original number is odd then ur next target is an odd number!- you will then be left with an even number! Do the same for any high even number. Rules: odd number, hit another odd number and this leaves an even number. Even number, hit another even number to leave another even number. Remember that all doubles are even, so the always try to leave an even number!
Good tip i always tell people to go treble 19 if you're on an odd number below 90, another if you're on an even below 50 - 6/10 and 8/16 are right next too each other
Thanks Bobby the video is really very nice, you included some important tips which will help us the young generation in playing clear game of dart. As i'm 6 feet tall bull's eye is very perpendicular to my sight, so i need to throw dart very perpendicular to bull's eye and while throwing dart if i make it little rotate the in air before it shoots it helps me to prevent in swings and out swings and gives me absolute shot. And i also noticed that as i have long fingers i find little discomfort to hold small size dart. Please tell me should i go to 90% tungsten dart with long size that will help me to improve my accuracy?
Always been a fan of Bobby George. He should of stayed in the game competitively rather than going into the showmanship side of things. He was certainly good enough.
He didn't really 'go into the showbiz side of things', he played in hundreds of ranking tournaments and tried his best to win...but he just wasn't good enough if the truth is told.
It's however it feels natural to you. I've changed my grip about 3 or 4 times since I've started just trial and error. A good place to start would be the pen grip just like how you hold a pen.
Bobby was supposed to be training this person, but his last throw showed him moving throughout! If you can't throw without moving too much, then the line of the dart won't follow a line! Shame on you Bobby for not pointing this out! Darts is a very easy game if you know how to play; unlike football where you require speed and ball skills. Darts is basically just about raising your arm and throwing at the target, which never moves and is in font of you!

Fascinating bloke.
0:23 see the cut? Bobby threw him out the house, made him clean his shoes, then 0:24 they resumed filming
👍(Die Gondel ist überall)
7:05 That's so distracting. I missed my single 1.
All in good faith. Nice session. Bobby is the best.
Some great advice. "Practice in the shoes you play in" never crossed my mind. Thanks Bobby.
Loved the video!
Absolute legend
How have I never seen this episode of only fools and horses before?
The true king of bling

Easily the best advice. Amatuers will naturally try different things and find what suits.
I play in my house with nothing on my feet , gonna have2 take my shoes&socks now when i have a real match, cheers bobby
Not sure I call that a master class, but I enjoyed it and picked up a few tips!!
Bobby George is a living legend!!! Richie to Win!!!
I'm gonna try the barracking now!
I like that geeza.
I remember Bobby said in his book that John Lowe used to flick his darts when he was throwing
Nice guy thanks bobby my old China :-)

Ahhhh . . Shanghai on 16's . . double the treble!

Decent advice if you've never seen an out chart lol
Bobby geoge the greatst player never to win the embassy championship
they want their mum... epic
Is Bobby George left eye dominate? Looks like he throws the darts from his left side.

But without him going the showbiz way darts would of been boring today , he started the walk on music , the entertainment etc in darts
He didn't really 'go into the showbiz side of things', he played in hundreds of ranking tournaments and tried his best to win...but he just wasn't good enough if the truth is told.
Is this the plum who now introduces the snooker?
The old dazzler.
Bobby is left eye dominant.
I am too, but I'm throwing from my right eye, lol.
try different shape flights and stem length, itll help alot
FUCK!!!!! I need to put my shoes on.
Basic but v informative. :-)
Great stuff, but I do wish they had also covered the grip.

My dad beat him and won a set of darts. I hit a 180. I have just purchased a new dart board and another set of his gold darts
No info on how to hold the darts?
In my opinion, the dropping the dart thing is acceptable, but for some reason the putting with noises malarkey is just wrong
Show me the parrot
Fuck me, Bobby George is 6ft 4 inches...
Night Nurse i bet you are more interested in the 4 inches ya complete bender
