@@Jake-Prince. yeah 😂 on another video I commented that I understood why he didn’t know West Coast Hip Hop … BUT I guess I can say I grew up in California and I knew NAS and Biggie.. I also had a friend who was a HUGE Wu Tang fan.. and another who was a HUGE Bone Thugs fan 😂 kind of crazy when Biggie was killed, my friends and I were more devastated than when PAC was murdered 🤷🏻♂️ and yes I know PAC was from New York and for us who lived on the West Coast we were all about PAC and “fuck the East Coast!!” Specially people from New York at the time😂 but something about Big.. maybe since he was so fucken Young.. it hit us hard to see him taken away from the world.. RIP BIG and PAC ❤️
You lying bro Snoop been giving crazy verses for a long time. Was just listening to his Lay Low verse last night and was thinking how smooth Snoop is on it
Kurupt is one of the most influential Rappers.. even Em put him on his Top 10 on “Till I Collapse” …. A song that also had Nate Dogg on the Hook.. Nate is easily the 🐐of Hooks 🙌🏻
Bro you should react to this whole Doggystyle album one song at a time. Easily a top 10 (top 5 IMHO). Not one single miss on the album. Literally like 50% of the tracks were radio/video hits, like 25% songs like that where they were hits that everyone knew but too explicit for the radio, and the other 25% was deep cuts. This was the epitome of a west coast masterpiece. This album is prob the #1 reason Snoop has the fans he do today.
Eminem said theres nobody that came that big like Snoop on his debut album until 50 Cent "Get rich or die trying" album came, Em is saying that not even his albums where big enough comparing to Snoop and 50. Thats real talk and respect.
At this point, you might need to do a "West Coast Wednesdays" and drop a reaction from a West coast artist each Wednesday since there is so much you haven't heard.
I bought the cassette of this when it came out. The best part, was the fold out booklet that came with it. It was the artwork you see, plus more to the story.
Probably one of def top 5 rap ablums of all time right here! So many classics! From lodi dodi to murder was the case. One for the real g's and hustlers !
Every track is fire on this album… this album is reminiscent of what’s happening with Kendrick now. West coast classics. Regulators! Lady of Rage!! Kurupt 🔥 They got a lotta noise from this even back then. lol now snoop is beloved everywhere.
*Kurupt* was in *(The Dogg Pound Gang/DPG)* with *Daz Dillinger* feat, *Snoop Dogg & Nate Dogg* songs like *(New York, New York) (Let's Play House) (I don't want to dream about getting paid) (Smooth)*
Kurupt is a legend in Cali! He’s more street than the other but can go lyrically than anyone! Eminem put his top rappers of all time and he had Kurupt above Nas!
First listen? FIRST LISTEN? Mane, this came out when I was 12 and its in my will to play at my funeral. My wife hates it, but she knows its my favorite ignit track.
1) Kinda hard to believe you've never heard of this before. 2) For Kurupt check out the songs C-Walk and We Can Freak It. 3) Mariah Carey kinda did a clean version of this song called Heartbreaker (Remix) featuring Da Brat and Missy Elliot.
I bought this when it was new, I was 13 and my mom saw the insert and hid the CD from me, but I found it anyway😅 But I never took it too seriously so no harm done. There are some really fun tracks on this album.
Wait a damn min🤯 Who raised you that didn’t expose you to at a minimum the clean version, like this is still in rotation at the cookout 🤯🤯 Aww baby ya folks did you wrong 😭 This still 🔥🔥🔥
On one hand you’re right about the women might’ve had a right to feel like that back when this was out, but on the other hand the women this was about were okay with it 😂
I get that you were all east coast growing up. But how have you not heard doggystyle before? I stood in line for over an hour the day that album released waiting to get one. I grew up in NC. Every radio station was on this. So have you never listened to NWA, Public Enemy, The Chronic, TODAY WAS A GOOD FREAKING DAY? I'm so sad for you.
For kurupt girls all pause. For snoop 187 on undercover cop. For warren g regulate..if you've heard that one al ready then I would say you don't see what I see .
When i met you last night babyyyy... before you opened up your gap... Here's a hot take, Snoop Doggs Doggy style album trumps the chronic, the chronic 2001, all eyez on me and killuminati. This album was by far the best album on Death Row, and it deserves way more accolades.
It was actually better than both Chronic’s if you look at the album from a whole, not to mention Snoop didn’t use ghost writers like someone else did. But to say better than Tupac releases on Death row.. a little to far, because you can’t really look at 2pac from album to album. You need to look at his stuff as more of a whole. Once he got to Death Row, he was no longer in the mind set of making a song from begging to end in the traditional manor. It was more like I’m gonna get on the mic and drop what’s on my mind to a beat, when I’m gone then you guys can work on the hook, producing and crap. And as a whole, snoop was no where in the same league as Tupac.
@@TrisTT-qe4em If you are taling about Tupac, the human being, he was like the Bob Marley of Hiphop no question, but All eyez on me sounded like a compilation album, and Killuminati had some mid beats and tracks in my opinion whereas doggystyle was a complete and more cohesive work.
Wait a minute, did you just ask if Warren G was a rapper? Did the east coast totally miss out on the G Funk Era? Surely you’ve heard Regulate and Nothin But a G Thing, right? Right?
It blows my mind you’ve never heard this song 😂 this is a CLASSIC bruh.. RIP Nate Dogg❤

Crazy that Snoop has been around for 30 years and never managed to rap this good ever again
You know whats crazy if you just read the lyrics its not super lyrical but that vibe. They just never got that back
Stop listening to his mainstream music cool. He has a deep catalog..
You lying bro Snoop been giving crazy verses for a long time. Was just listening to his Lay Low verse last night and was thinking how smooth Snoop is on it
now he dropped missionary, proving he still got itt
False
"The Shiznit" from this album is a must! 🔥🔥🔥
I'm currently stationed in Japan and the ladies were in the club singing and dancing to the lyrics of this song last night. Black women and Japanese.
Can confirm, lived and worked in Thailand for 18 months, early 2000s. And this shit was a BOP in the bars, clubs in Phuket!
I’m jealous lol
Kurupt and Daz and some would say Snoop make up the Dogg Pound. New York New York is a good song 😂😂
I was 10 years old singing this with my partners live in 93. You missed it 😂😂😂
I couldn't play it in the stereo while my parents were home 😂😂
"Lets grab some lyrics guys" 😂😂😂

I brought this album to Argentina in 1993, and literally shocked 1000's of people, but now we got Nicki Nicole so it worked.

Kurupt is Snoop's lil cousin from the group Dogg Pound. Listen to Dogg Pound's "Let's Play House" with Michele
They released a new album earlier this year too. Daz and Kurupt
I think Daz is Snoops cousin. Love this album. How does this dude not know Kurupt?
