G’z Up Hoes Down needs to be put on DSP’s. I keep checking here and there but…..nope. 🤦🏽♂️
I believe it was a Sample issue only the first Original album has it
@@jomowilliams4433 yeah I figured smh. I have that CD in storage somewhere lol. TH-cam will have to do I guess.
It;s so dope man...@@OrondeBranch
@@OrondeBranchyeah Isaac Hayes or his estate blocked it. If you look it up it’s on TH-cam. If memory serves the channel is called old school hip hop.
When this dropped in 93’ this album was like an atom bomb dropped on hip hop, made the whole industry reevaluate itself 😂
Greatest debut album of all time !
No Lies! I worked at a hand car wash when this album dropped and I swear almost every car I washed had Snoop's tape in it.
I remember not long after this dropped I bought it on CD along with Regulate G Funk Era by Warren G. Played them both to death.
The industry stopped yo! imagine The Chronic was still blazing the streets at that time
Yup,i coped it when it first dropped....if you only knew the amount of 40 ounces me and my boys drank to this album in the following years lmao
Snoop's definitely had some hits since then, but this is his masterpiece
Let's hope him and dre make another classic
@@L1am21Yeah this November 30 year anniversary.. Missionary Lp
Lodi Dodi was actually a cover of Slick Rick’s La Di Da Di. That was just Snoop paying homage to his favorite rapper. The hook for Hypnotize came from Slick Rick.
Yeah, because at the time the government was trying to deport Slick Rick
Yes. Almost word for word 1987. Ahmad should review The Great Adventures of Slick Rick. La Da Di is only a single, but Adventures is a classic.
Sho ya right ricky😅
I used to love Slick Rick (who didn't) and Doggystyle was an instant classic, INSTANT.
The ' It's all because of you, I'm feeling sad and blue...etc' is from a female duo called 'A Taste of Honey' off one of their hit records from the late 70s, early 80s.
This Album Dropped 30 Yrs Ago & Every Song is Classic !!! Definitely Timeless !!! 🔥
That Rage Intro is just LEGENDARY! I remember the first time I heard it.
I knew from that 1 song that it was gonna be a certified classic
Yep that’s the home girl Robin 🤛🏿
On the last track, "Pump Pump", the kid on the track is Malik Edwards from South Carolina. He was in a rap Duo called "Illegal" with another kid from Philly before linking with snoop. They were young asf. 😁 And a hardcore rap duo. They were Mobb Deep before Mobb Deep. They had a big song that year called "We Gets Busy".
Check out back in the day video version of Illegal
Man, I just listened to Jamal and Illegal's album about a week ago. They actually aged better than I thought they would 😂. Pretty dope actually and had to give them more credit than I realized. Didn't recall how they called out pretty much every other 'kid group' back in the day. Lol
I only discovered We Getz Busy recently, it’s hard AF! The Eric Sermon beat is nasty!
@@lucasm3879 think there's a remix version on the album, too.
@@tywayne3
Yeah I think I heard that, I really like those early 90's Erick Sermon beats, same style as Hitting Switches, Headbanger, Hostile... he was on fire!
Honestly, Kurupt relaxed his flow a bit by the time he did a solo project. You gotta do the Dogg Food album which came out 3 years before "Kuruption". "Dogg Food" is a 🔥 album. Kurupt is "rappity rap rappin" on that joint. and Daz goes the f**k off. Solid album from start to finish.
Don't forget about Kurupts other album Tha streetz a Mutha, that album was hard too.
Dogg food and tha streets is a mutha are both classics
This has my vote.@@Blindmouf336
Kuruption had 2 or 3 good songs off a double disc, overall trash. Streetz iz a mutha is classic. Space odyssey was a very good album too.
Streetz is a mutha is Kurupts classic
there is no other album to this date that gives off the vibe that this album does its amazing
The chronic definitely gives off this vibe for sure.
The Last Meal does
Snoop did freestyle The Shiznit. He's one of the most impressive off the dome rappers out. And got signed off the strength of him freestyling.
They honestly have no idea how ill Snoop was. He was the youngin' back then, too. His flow was not only smooth but cold af.
Kurupt is better
Gz and hustlas is freestyle too
Kurupt is EASILY one of the Top 5 Greatest MC’s from the West Coast, PERIOD !
Gz Up and Hoez Down was on the original album release but taken off due to sampling issues. It's on TH-cam Talking about 🔥
Best track on the album!
I knew something was missing. Good catch.
Glad someone caught it.
Will the real g'z please stand up and all be accounted forrrrr 🎶🎵
Tha Next Episode is also missing from the end of the album here and in subsequent releases.
I grew up a metal and rock n roll fan, but this album is what got me into rap!! Fav track is Pump Pump!!!!
I was the same way. My friend's older brother got us into stuff like tribe, rakim and wu tang then the chronic and this came out. Good time to grow up
Lol love snoop but none of this is true. People just make stuff up lol
Pump Pump became my fav as I got.older
@@damondej unless you know these people personally than you have absolutely no idea if they're making it up or not.
Same dude
Good time to be alive in '93 and '94... Hip Hop in its purist form....Jr and Sr year of high school
Yes indeed
I totally agree
4 words.
Entire album. No skips. 🔥🔥🔥
You're in for a TREAT!!! This album is a bonafide CLASSIC!!!
This was back when you could listen to an album all the way through without skipping songs.
Back in 92, this album was the most anticipated in hip hop! I'm from LA, and I actually had what's my name and another song that leaked out before the album released.
To hear that stuff leaked in 1992 is insane!! I know that had to be a time for sure.
I was living in Rialto and it dropped at midnight, we waited for Music Plus to open that night ha ha.
Gz up hoes down
I'm from NYC we were salivating for this album to drop!
@@IJ_RogersTV it was for sure, it was a new style.
If u havent heard it yet...u should react to Redman's Muddy Waters album. Another classic to me
4sho!
He’s not ready for that
That and Dare Iz A Darkside the classic red tape
A classic period Fam.
This is the album that changed Hiphop and put Hiphop of a different pedestal and made snoop the most popular rapper alive. Every successful rappers today idolise snoop because of Doggystyle and his contribution to the chronic
Spam that like button 🔥👍🏾 And make sure y’all send snoop this video if u can!!!
Common - Be is next 🔥🔥💯
Can you react to ice cube America most wanted album it it’s 🥶🥶🥶🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bruh it's one song missing that comes before pump pump I'm telling you that song dumb 🔥🔥🔥.... Imma go find it and send a link.... Jus react to that one by itself... Idk why that song ain't on dat version of the album....@KingAhmadTv
th-cam.com/video/XW8ziidDXLE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bSK5oecM_IHhMNyX
Jus dropped you a jewel Lil bruh.... That song missing called G'z Up Hoes Down
Common’s Like Water For Chocolate & Resurrection album needs to looked at and not looked over. Be is a classic but those albums are too.
That's Malik. A dude from east coast from the group Illegal with lil Jamal. Illegal was a duo from the East coast. They were 16 yrs. Old.
That ILLEGAL album was so underrated!!
And that’s the same Jamal who became an extended part of the Def Squad with Erick Sermon/Redman/Keith Murray
The coolest thing about Hip Hop is that every region has their own unique style. From the West, the South, to the East Cast. I love our culture.
Yes, back then you could tell what part of the country a rapper was from just from their sound and that’s not a bad thing, variety is good!
WE DA WEST!!!!!
Had*
Nowadays all the mfs rappin on a lame ass trap beat
Back then, but not anymore. Everyone sounds the same now.
@@John__Dough sadly you’re right sir.
Yes, The Shizznit is actually a freestyle. Snoop was just playing when he did that. It was a mic check. And Dre wanted to keep it for the album
Love this album, can't believe it's 30 years old now
All of the kids were Bow Wow
Im from the LB an i was 15 when this dropped i even went to high school with Snoop wife an sis inlaw.. Baby we was young an ingnorant & the parties was outta control 💯😍💪😎
The intro is a revised conversation from the 70's blaxploitation movie "Superfly".
This album took west coast hip hop to another level fr
i’m sure we all stood up and started dancing when ain’t no fun came on🔥🔥🔥
The whole album solid from top to bottom.
Hey Ahmad, funny thing about the Doggystyle album, it dropped around the same time as the first Wu-Tang "36 Chambers" album. ------ Most folks couldn't wait for Doggystyle since it was so well marketed. However Wu Tang were gaining steam. I night them both. ----- like you said Doggystyle sounded like Chronic 2.0. Wu Tang sounded like a cinematic hiphop experience. ---- Both are absolute classics.
The sound quality is bad on that wu album
@@L1am21 sound quality is questionable on the first Wu album for sure. I'm there instead for the inventiveness, creativity, ruggedness, soulful expression of hiphop. ---- For godsakes, RZA invented sample chopping on this album. The staple of music production today. That's how important, "36 Chambers" was to hiphop
@@lethaldose2000 what's sample chopping?
You have a very good perception of the album, I enjoyed watching your reactions to the songs.
This album was one of the most anticipated albums ever
I was fourteen when this came out. . This shit influenced a whole generation. . . I miss that G Funk style. . It was dope af.
The song "G's Up Hoes Down" was at the end of the original album.
You missed “Gz Up, Hoez Down.” It was the last song on the original pressing of Doggysyle. It had to be taken off future pressings/streams due to sample clearance issues.
Hey Ahmad, what you are listening to is the watered down version of Dr Dre's original production for the album. ----- The reason being, about 70% near competition of Doggystyle version 1, someone leaked the album and It forced Dr Dre to create an entire new set of tracks. ----- Especially the lead single, which is why, "What's my name sounds like a rushed Dr Dre production effort. -------- I can't even imagine how mindblowing the original production must have sounded.
55:12 The person featured on the Pump Pump track was Lil’ Malik of the group Illegal. They were on Rowdy Records and affiliated with Def Squad as well. Illegal consisted of two members: Lil’ Malik & Jamal. Check out Jamal’s joint “ Fade’s Em All & Keep it Real.
That was Lil Malik on Pump Pump with Snoop. He was like 14 or something at the time
This is classic album Snoop put in work on this joint. Imo this is the greatest pure “gangster rap” album.
The West took over with this album it took Big to bring the East back. I'm from VA very NY influenced Snoop took over the airwaves here!
That's a fact
They knew in the studio it was gonna be a classic... even we knew which is why we all ran out and got it the 1st week. Dre could do no wrong. Easy, NWA, DOC, Chronic...He already had the track record. then we heard snoop on that 187 song and we were like, oh yeah, this is gonna be fire. And it lived up to the hype. Another shout out to kurupt too. He killed every song he was on. I look forward to your 2001 review. Btw, im from NY. Good music is good music. Im sure if snoop checked the soundscan a really big portion of those 1st week sales came from NYC.
The album that started it off for Snoop Doggy Dogg way back in 1993
More proof of why Dr. Dre a MF Legend!
Lady of Rage would be the best female rapper out today😂😂😂😂😂😂 I forgot she snapped. Snoop really love her, she was on family feud with him
Doggy dogg world - is great and unique song , real classic🔥
Slick Rick originally recorded Ladi Dadi
The skit at the end about the little kid , what you won’t to be when you grow up, is Bow Wow or Lil bow wow and he was in gin and juice video jumping on sofa
🐐album
Classic. Nuff said. Perfect representation of West Coast Funk and lyrics representing how the West Coast bruhs were living at that time. Love this album.
One thing about the west coast sound is they stayed consistent from then til now
Facts 🔥💯
@@KingAhmadTvreact to the Dogg Food by Dogg Pound
The Chronic , DoggyStyle and Dog Food ( Dog Pound album ) are the top albums from Death Row until you get to 2Pac’s last two albums .
One of the most anticipated debut joints in hip hop history! Track 4 is 🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌
I've listened to Gin & Juice a million times, never noticed he was pissing, thought it was a drink poured up 😂
Snoop has a cover song on all his albums of classic NY songs. Lodi Dodi, Vapors, Paid in Full…
This whole joint snap, but literally lost my mind the first time I heard the beat drop on Da Shiznit!!!
19:08 actually this is a tribute to Slick Rick with Doug E Fresh…. Classic
Me and my Dad LOVED this album. The songs he sampled really bridged the generations and we're both fans of hip hop. So glad you're reacting to it.
Classic Album like most albums in the 80's and 90s you can't find a classic these days that you can play it all the way through
Aint no fun gets me dancing everytime!!😂 I feel you king 👑💪 also I think that was lil malik on pump pump
Another classic album, props to Snoop and Dre for the era of greatness. The rapper on Pump Pump was Malik from Illegal, you definitely should check them out, they had a nice album back in the day!!! (The Untold Truth)
That wasn't Rage that was a guy named Malik at the end he was in a group called Illegal with another rapper Jamal you should check out their song Back In The Day
CLASSIC! Start to finish...This was one of the most anticipated album drops ever!
Bro, if you want more G-Funk and a continuance of this you HAVE to react to Warren G - Regulate.....G Funk Era album asap 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I've been arguing this album is better than Chronic.
I disagree the chronic is gangsta. Doggystlye is a party album.
Chronic 2001 beats both of them. But 2 all time great albums 4sure. Glad I was born in 74. Heard great music until around 2005
Doggystyle IS better than The Chronic. The production is better and the album just flows so much better.
I gotta disagree. Don't get me wrong it's album is a bona fide classic.but the chronic is considered one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever made. Right there with nas's illmatic
@@L1am21 True, but from top to bottom there are no skips on doggystyle. At least 3 on Chronic.
Definitely one of the classics!
Dogg Pound - Dogg Food reaction
Redman - Muddy Waters reaction
Kurupt’s best album is Streetz Iz A Mutha. Pls review that one 🔥
I was 20 when this album came out. I bought it the day it dropped, and it became one of the albums that made up the soundtrack to my youth. Great album. Speaking of great albums (lol) you neeeeed to react to Ice Cube's first 4 albums. But, I think it's important to go in order of release, because it shows Cube's growth over time. Start with Amerikkka's Most Wanted, then Death Certificate, The Predator, and finally Lethal Injection. You will not be sorry. I consider the first three to be absolute classics, and the fourth one is fire too.
and the da lench mob's album that was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely.
Bro ! we in the East were in AWE of this album ! This shit was G it was fresh it was top level in every single way !
I'm not the only person to say this , but DoggyStyle and The Chronic forced the EAST COAST to go back to the drawing board FR 🔥
that level of comp was needed in Hip Hop and we never going to see that again 💯
Best hip hop album ever made
First time I heard rap was this album now you see why snoop is considered a great strictly off this album alone
bruh your spirit is inspiring..thank you for doing what you do..of course i still have to recommend reviewing Camp Lo..but in the 90s it was cook out music..artist like Snoop, Pac,etc connected across generations..my uncles and parents would like some of their songs..those are true superstars and back then you have to understand the anticipation for certain artist was different..it cant be recreated..but keep doing what youre doing..peace! sidenote Scarface had a group called The Product..album dope..check it out if you get a chance
G's and hustlers is the freestyle, and bow wow is the one who played snoop...LL was in the studio wit dre watchin them record the song...Dre said he needed 1 more song to end the album, so snoop told him to throw on the beat, and he made the whole song in 1 take...LL told the story on his podcast, and Dr dre confirmed it
Kurupt is Philly, born LA. raised, thats why his bars sound like that, I think he moved ro L.A. close to his teens so he mixed that East Coast spit game with West Coast slang and style and it became Kurupted. But Doggystyle is not just one of the best raps ablums ever produced song for song and musiclally, it'll probably give alot of albums a runs for its money that you dont have to skip a song..and so many singles.
Make sure to listen to Gz up Hoes Down too. That used to be on the original version of the album but was deleted due to sample clearances.
Nephew you did me a great service reviewing this one!!! Takes a brother back to his heyday!!!
I know u love this pimping we grew up on as teenagers...Class of 94
Class of 95 rep.
This, Too Short, Luniz, Bone and N2DEEP was in heavy rotation.
Funk+gangster = masterpiece 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Been waiting for this lol. My uncle gave me this cd at age 13. My mom almost beat my ass but it was worth it. In my opinion one of the most iconic west coast albums and debut albums I've heard.
One of the most anticipated albums ever.
What up King Ahmad! Great reaction from Snoop Doggy Dogg's 'Doggystyle" but you got to check out the originals 1st:Eazy-E's hard-hittin' debut, "Eazy Duz It", the groundbreaking NWA's "Str8 Outta Compton",The D.O.C's powerful debut," No One Can Do It Better",Above The Law's smooth and funky debut,"Livin Like Hustlers" and NWA's second and Cube-less album",Niggaz4Life" leading up to "The Chronic" and "Doggystyle"! Trust me those albums will blow your mind and then some!!React to them ASAP!!
Don't 4get ice cube amerikkkas most wanted and Death Certificate. Helped shape my mind set. Taught me to use condoms and to understand the forces of racism and to be productive in society like my mom and grandmother told me too 4sho100!!!
The mc on the last track is MR.Malik from the group called Illegal you should do an reaction to there album ( Jamal & Malik are ILLEGAL )
And that was no girl but a lil boy .there debut single was Gets busy produced by Erick Sermon .
You should do an reaction on the Dogg Pound ( Doggfood ) after this snoop doggy style album for real .
Glad you got this checked out. I was 14 when this came out! I had that bitch on a cassette tape. Classic! That west coast g funk is undeniable!!! Keep up the good work sir!
😅😂😂I Like How You Said “Loadi Doadie” And It’s Pronounced “LA DI DA DI!”…😅😂😂😂😅”LOADI DOADI!” And they kept saying it in the song. And at the end,You said..”That Was “LOADI DOADI” by Snoop😅
I was helping my mom move when I first listened to this album and almost ended up in the wrong part of the state because I was so focused on listening to Gz and Hustlas. Just digesting how nice the beat was and wondering why it wasn't one of his bigger songs.
Thats my favourite song off the album, easy.
This is freestyle
One of the greatest hip hop albums ever and Top 5 debut album ever imo
You need to do 'Gz Up Hoes Down' it was part of the original album, then got removed due to samples on the re-release.
I so glad you listen to the details bro ! I hope you notice the song lengths we had back then… 3 16s, 2 hooks, 4-5 min of Funk lol.
Seeing the pure joy on your face as hit after hit kept peeling off made my day. This was the first CD I ever owned. One of the most fun albums ever made.
I hope some young people understand why we who lived at that time have a hard time with rap today. In the 90s, there were a lot of powerful and unique albums. And great and very inspired artists. Frankly I say it myself concerning rap I stopped at the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s.
Have you listened to Little Simz? She’s brilliant, old head on young shoulders.
I wasn’t born until the early 2000s but I just love 90s music 😩 like all of these songs are 🔥🔥🔥😍 all the music in the 90s just sound good asf 😭😭😭 but I’m happy I came a cross your channel ❤️❤️❤️
I was in the 6th grade when I first heard this on TAPE! One of my friends had it and we would play it out while we were doing homework lol
Lol I was in the 10th grade
Murder was the case was made into a long form video and the version you originally reviewed was from that. They dropped a whole album as a soundtrack to that video...another classic.
36:15 - A moment in KingAhmadTV history!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That G-Funk got him GROOVIN'!!!!!
Amazing album! You can listen straight through and not skip a song
Listening along and these beats are just KNOCKING. I’m never mad when people call Dre the 🐐
Rage killed it on that verse for sure, the '90s was an amazing time for hip hop
@KingAhmadTv One track was taken off the album due to a sample clearance. You have to listen to "G'z' Up, Hoes Down".
