Saw this from Aaron Martin, he used the strand off of a jig. The plastic that makes the jig weed less. I’m going to try the way you showed but going to use a small shrink wrap. Hopefully it will hold the wire sturdy.

Hi Stacy, thanks for sharing, shrink wrap seems to have a shorter shelf life but let us all know how you end up liking it.

I got into making my own keepers awhile back when academy was clearencing out their gamakatsu heavy cover hooks. The old h.c. hooks had a metal barb keeper with heat shrink and would get pulled down after a few fish or even punching a 1oz + weight for an hour so I started tying them with some old 10lb braid, 30lb mono and some epoxy. Even started putting double keepers on spinnerbaits and other baits without keepers

Perfectly done. I was frustrated with weedguards on wacky hooks. So I took the tag end from a very small zip tie and fastened it to a 2/0 offset worm hook in the offset portion. Tied the knot exactly as you showed. Bent it back towards the point. Hangs up very little and missed very few fish. Caught hundreds of smallies on a handful of hooks this year
On those large worm hooks are you tying a snell? Debating whether to start using it

It wasn’t hard to understand at all, if I did not have a job (which always seems to get in the way of my fishing) and family obligations I would love to dilly dally with stuff like that, I’m still saving this for later just Incase, cool stuff man, many thanks !!

Could you use 30 or 65 pound braid instead of wire???
