I bought this a year ago. The screen turned white after day 3, the contacts from the button membrane barely registered although I didnt do anything about it (could be better if the screen didnt poop the bed) but it was so cool with a 5 inch screen. The battery was a monster. Everything was in chinese. No wifi no bluetooth. Easy to get around with the extra usb. I wish I didnt have a defective unit I'd be able to clean the contacts under the buttons. Love your videos wicked. Keep it up.

@@keithsmith6356 I caught it at 180 with 30 discount for points on some card. I really wished it was built a tad bit better. The screen when it worked was such a nice size for the handheld.

Nice. Both this one and the 1up machine have a great look to them. Transparent all the way for me.
I have this unit. I've had it for about a year, now. I love mine. I have a ton of games on it. I travel a lot, so this is great for traveling.
How well does ps1 games run?

All in one. You can’t beat that. I love how everyone is bringing back the goods. Whether it be in portable form or the classic arcade. My childhood has returned! Love your channel my wicked brother! Looking forward to the next goodie you bring out!

Really nice! It was a lot better than I was expecting. Mario Kart on N64 was nutty but overall it did what it said on the tin.
Protip : you can clean install the latest retropie on this thing, only problem : the built in buttons wont work anymore... until you install the "mk arcade gpio joystick" driver from the retropie setup, that's all you need.
By the way, I had the same problem with N64 emulation, the latest retropie, fixed everything.
I bought this model a few months ago from the Kinhank store at Ali Express. But mine had a problem with the screen. The image disappears after a few minutes of use. At least it works with HDMI cable on the TV. Greetings from Brazil!
Wow! This is beautiful. If only it had a decent screen rather then the crappy one that’s on it. It does have a nice HDMI hook up too.

NIce review, I buy the same 1 week ago I just have a question. How do you end a game for playing to a another one ? Because I try every controls but I'm obliged to switch off and restart the device all the time after one game selected.
Press Select and Start at the same time.
If this doens't work reconfig the controls in menu
It looks like the one I have, except mine has two small joy sticks on the bottom. I opened it up and it said raspberry pi compute module 3+ . I've been having trouble finding the right image that it came with it since there is little to no info on this unit. Im the second owner and its all new to me, can someone please point to me in the right direction in any way.
This looks pretty good ! If this had a better screen i would definately try to get one.

Why do people worry about viewing angles? Who plays it sideways or any other way than straight ahead?

Metal Slug is a fun game. Unfortunately it wasn't ported to SNES when I was a kid.
Actually this model is the Portrait model, Landscape is the other way, just look at the two LDK models.

Hey I got mine, slowly figuring it out, wading through all the chinese titles and trying to put at least select favorites so I can easily find them. My favorites list is reset everytime i restart! Also, is there anyway to lower the brightness on these things?
I know I’m well late but this thing is so cool be I don’t know if it’s good because I can find any other reviews I’m hoping someone sees this and tells me if it’s worth it

It's a huge pi. It looks awsome and for the most part runs games pretty good ( just not N64). But pretty damn awsome .
Performance on N64 is really impressive. MarioKart 64 seems to have zero slowdown on the system.
So love this system.... BUT !!!!!! I'm wondering should I wait for the Super Retro!!! What is the news on the SuperRetro.. Need to know!!! Thanks again!!!

I just got mine in but I ordered the 64GB version and they sent me the 32GB version and how do you change the language to English as I can't read the game titles as they are in Japan or Chinese or something? Can you help?
If the names of the games are chinees you need to replace files or rename them.
Edit - If they send your wrong SD cart.. ask seller for money back or just use dispute system for refund.

Retail $160.00 approx. I have one , don't recommend to be honest. But it does have a lot of pluses.

Plays ps1 like a boss. The N64 performance is good , but you can't plan on the system due to firmware , maybe if you set up an external joypad
i dont like the large size, if the controls were on either side of the screen it would be better for me

I was excited when I saw your review , however realty vs Advertisement is usually there ,
I just received my coolboy order , below are the three issues:
1. I ordered the 64 GB , however I received the 32 GB
2. There is no sound at all , (TV HDMI and within the coolboy)
3.most of the Games are either in Japanese or Chinese languages
Any Idea how to solve number 2 and 3 issue please ?
So CoOoL I got mine a week ago I also ordered the 64 one and I got the 32 gb. My screen it’s not working I tried to connect it on my tv HDMI and it did not work at all. I been contacting them to get me a replacement but they just keep sending me photos and videos of how to fix the problem but non of those instructions worked. I’m just going to get a refund very disappointed.
@@franciscouribe2448 it seems that I am at least in a good situation comparing to yours , the strange thing is that, the CoolBaby is Raspberry pi 3 based, when I took the SD card to try it in another Raspberry pi 3 , it is not working at all, also when I used my 32GB games SD card from another raspberry pi 3 within the CoolBaby it is not working.

I hated this cheap quality product.
So CoOoL they responded today and gave me instructions to press a button that is between the two volume buttons and it works. Now I have the same issue that you have everything is in Chinese. I wrote them another hopefully they give me instructions of how to change the language. I will keep you posted.

They never replied to me when I told them there is no sound.
I ordered the other one similar to this. Came in and the screen did not work. Tried hooking it up to the tv, still did not work. So I emailed them with pics n video and invoice of order. They sent a replacement. It works but no idea how to change the language. Curious on how to fix the screen. Anybody know?
This Handheld can run Beetle Saturn Mednafen emulator? or not
It's a Pi so.... if the Emulator is there..
Only It will need more power ;)
So Sega Saturn, PSP, Dreamcast and Game Cube is really hard to emulate with CM3.

Yeah, I'd put slot smaller battery in it. Such a large battery is an odd choice.

I had the same coolbaby but the large horizontal one. Just a total piece of crap. So heavy, a non-sense for an handheld console (800gr).
Up direction didn't responding even with the joystick making the console unusable....No support from seller. Had to open a case with ali and sent back paying to China for 60$ shipping (aliexpress wants a tracking number). Button quality is poor. Most of the games were in chinese or didn't want to be lauched. Don't buy it. Wait for the Zpocket or gkd350H.... :)
Seems like this product is pretty naughty or at least the seller is. This is advertised as having an IPS screen but Wicked has said otherwise. Tsk, tsk... It might just be that it's not a very good IPS screen though. Also the price on this baby, woo... Guess if you want good emulation, you gotta spend the dollars.

Hi. This thing is a rip off and a (very badly built) copy of the 1up pi-boy, which I own.
Stay away from this and go for the original at 140€ (1up pi-boy) on AI on sale. No advertising here, just common sense ☺
