You are right it's wrong based off of what I have written on the fuel tank, but when installing on the carb I switched it as it will only work one way on the carburetor.
I had some stainless steel Mechanic wire that I used. Wire is just to fish the fuel line out a bit so it can be picked out with the plyers. Silicone lube helps a lot if you have some. Silicone spray lube.
