The SS190 is not a proper civilian ammo. It over penetrates unless meeting armor, by all of the data and videos I've seen. The 9mm might be putting more mass into your target, but there again you are using specialize ammo. A 9mm isn't going through body armor. Your argument is not logical since the way you started it off was stating "the bad guys wearing body armor." Unless you are using an AP round in the 9mm, it isn't going through. Then that's illegal once again, unless you hold a special license or Federal permit to do so. Shot placement was always a key in your videos, I've watched. The 57 allows better shot placement, follow up, and less recoil. It also provides a cartridge where the SS197 dumps all its energy into the target and, by tests I've seen on YT and from other reports on the 57 during shootings, does not, in 90% of cases, over penetrate the target. A 9mm that doesn't expand almost always over penetrates. The 57 round will also lose a lot of power when penetrating home walls. A 9mm will not. It will continue through the entire structure unless hitting something substantial to stop it. Again, unless there is something you are not revealing, your entire argument for the switch is illogical. I do however respect your views and your own opinions. Enough said. Take Care and Stay Safe.

Dots on CCW are a highly overrated fashion trend. 1st adjustable sights, then laser sights (everybody had to have them) now dots. Hurry and buy one before the next big thing comes out. I'll stick with what works amazingly well at fighting distances, iron sights, and probably won't use them in the heat of battle for my life. Just being honest.
The 5.7 only works on American troops. When tested at Ft Hood it was very effective. The medical reports quoted rifle like injuries. So 5.7 is great for troops but not so much for anything else.
Mil courts aren’t as open with their findings but I believe civies should be able to find the firearms used and the death toll. The base medical facility was less than a mile and a half away and even then still had abnormally high casualty rate. This was all well known and talked about at the time and raised concerns amongst the gun control community. How did you miss this ? If I remember correctly only a few were hit in the torso and lived. Most survivors were hit by pass throughs and took non torso hits. I’d personally like to see this gun go away. Imagine had it been civilians….these guys were trained and some with combat experience.
@@tabithaswartz6139false, the base medical facility only had one trauma bay, we had to fly the rest out to temple, the casualty rate was high because his initial shooting we’re head wounds, not to mention the unborn baby, in fact the DOD police he got into with he shot the female officer who shot him and she was shot in the lower extremity’s and pelvis and lived, it took to long to get to the casualties until guys in the surrounding barracks started first line treatment and started cas evac in their own vehicles, not to mention the initial reports we were getting was that there were multiple shooters in multiple locations on hood so we had to scramble to shut everything down
@@GlockyMcGlockFace I was involved on some of the civil litigation on that whole mess. I do remember the med facility being close by, no idea of the size. Not false it was fact medics were on seen within minutes. Im not a gun person but I was surprised how small that little round was. I don't recall head wound(s) the docs I remember showed torso. Very few of those people survived. If you were involved and interviewed from a firm in Austin then we may have talked. I cant go further than that. Back to the original topic, that little round proved extremely destructive and way over penetrated. Also this was against mil personnel some with combat experience. Having little recoil and better than average accuracy didnt help. See no purpose for such a weapon a common 9mm is acceptable for protection
There's no federal restrictions on 5.7 i don't think. Places like CA might not have a 5.7 on the roster, though. The black tip ammo though, less sure about.

Specifically related to handguns, not green/black tip for rifles. I would never carry AP rounds in pistol. Just practice pelvic and head shot to counter body armor.
Thats only technically true, if theyre rated for armor penetration they are illegal. That being said many rounds can penetrate armor still, that's just not their entire purpose or main selling point. And at the end of the day, the right of the people to keep and bare arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. I don't remember seeing any asterisks that talk about what cartridge the people are allowed to have in the constitution.

Now to answer the question presented; I carried .40 a large portion of my career (once I was allowed to toss my M9 aside) and inherently chose that as my primary concealed round for years, but switched back to 9mmm about 4 years ago. I also carry the 365 Legion or VP9SK, depending on my mood and activities. I will say to carry a 5.7 never would have entered my mind.
What light do you recommend for the p365? i have an xl grip not a macro. So no pic rail. I have a macro grip, i just prefer the xl
The SS190 black FN is not available anywhere. I bought the CMMG DISSENT M4 5.7 to defeat body armor with the ss190 but cant get it.
Dam Tim K. I finally found your channel. Hope ypu are well, God Bless you and your family and ALL of us . Thank You For My FREEDOM my friend My Brother in God Above. Amen.
✌️ Peace from Big Jim New Hampshire USA aka Boston Strong
Walther PDP Pro X also one to consider.
Don't forget the copper tungsten core 9mm rounds. You got plenty of money lol. They are out there
Love it. I'd really like to carry a 5.7 caliber piece if someone made a fricking sub compact model. I'm manlet size so carrying a duty size pistol ain't gonna work that well. But I've thought for a while a 5.7 would be a great carry option.
Will never happen. The bullets are very long for a handgun, and the velocity is horrible with anything shorter than the FN barrel length.
Palmetto state armory has compact coming out here soon
What’s the best turniket, forgive my spelling.
Now where to get some of that 5.7 ammo 🤔👀
It’s never available in black tip
Seems like a bad shout, honestly. For a carry piece, chances are you're not going up against prepared criminals with body armory. 5.7 blacks are going to sail through an unarmored opfor. For the home defense, sure maybe, but for carry on potentially crowded streets, seems like a bad option. GRANTED! i have VERY little experience with 5.7, i'm purely going off the public date on this. it's ENTIERLY possible that my understanding of 5.7ap is wrong full stop.
@Bodhimedic9080 You just gotta search. It's out there. Also there's Custom Loads Like E.A 5.7 ammo aswell. But the Black Tip is Out There So is Green Tip Which can go through 3A
I'm over 50 so still humping around 357sig.
Have you tried G9 rounds?
Some Mexican army officers carry the 5.7 also. Probably for the same reasons.
I was done at 5.7 for carry
I thought you EDC'd 8.6 Blackout 😜
REAL REASON- SIG gave him a free gun and a wml and some ammo.
A a Brand NEW 🔫/📱/👖/👟/🚗/🛻... Is great to have ur hands on
I carry without an optic because I am an independent thinker, who isn't a slave to trends. And very effective without one.
Fort scott ammunition 9mm penetrates body armor too
Get a trijicon. That Walmart optic will shatter when you look at it the wrong way
1:23
Because I can hit whatever I want already without using the sights. Optics are fine, but not needed if you are a good shooter.
then why is the competition with the largest participation carry optics? all the best shooters use optics on their pistols in 2024.
@@jessegpresley
Sure, competitions are great.
I don't want to add extra bulk and weight on my concealed firearm with an optic when I don't need to.
@@RicArmstrong cool, then don't. Why do you care what anyone else says if it works for you
@@CheetoDust365
I didn't tell anyone what to carry. I'm just saying I've seen people put far too much faith into some expensive optic when oftentimes they never prop learned to shoot with iron sights.
Why would you leave anything available on the table when you're talking about personal defense? Surely one would want every advantage available, regardless of skill.
Wouldn’t have anything to do with your sponsorship??
I carry 5.7 and a P365. Clothing choice and location dictates. I’m an underwood ammo fan. The Black Tips are never available.
I'm curious why not 357 sig?
Didn’t that Fort Hood shooter that killed all those guys on base use a 5.7 ?? If I remember correctly it had a HELL OF A MORTALITY rate. Even on base with combat experienced medics. Hmm that’s a tough argument
The 5.7 is a nice middle ground between 9mm and .22 magnum 🤦
How do you tie your shoes with one of those AIWB?
Am I just weeeetarded? I thought AP 5.7 was illegal. Am I crazy?
It’s not
@@digitalpunk5365 wait seriously? I thought any AP hand gun ammo was banned? They almost banned 5.7 outright a while back because of its generally high punch through rate even without the AP ammo
It's just extremely expensive and extremely difficult to find.
@@ryanjones3043 Technically the 5.7x28 was developed as a rifle round for the P90. Rifle AP ammo isn't banned, so it's legal to own it.
You thought that the right of the people to keep and bare arms was supposed to be infringed upon? Thats silly.
Omg, I carry a 50 cal. Bmg.......sheez, thanks for teaching us like a kindergarten teacher.
Garand thumb did an extensive test with different situations and distances and his end opiniom was that 5.7 is too underpowered and hes sticking with 9mm. My hipster ass carries a .40 😂

Zipper drill. Body armor stops both rounds.
The 5.7 ammo is so expensive. I’ve shot two mags and had to stop lol
Then you may not be bright enough to use Google. 5.7 is like fifty cents a round, no worse than 556 or when 9mm was fifty cents not that long ago.
Or maybe just maybe did Sig just sponsor you so you’re going to “rock” one of their shit blasters because they have a track record of just that
Less then 9 of 10 Hunter dont know the 10mm Auto for example from
Glock 17.
Thats my first choice
youre a kool dude been through alot just subbed thank you for your service bro
Extreme defender in everything
5.7 out of a 3.5in barrel is not going through anything a 22 mag won't. This guy thinks 22 is better for body armor 😆
Yoel doesn’t need a gun.
I carry 9mm concealed until I’m camping in bear country. Then it’s a 10mm open carry.
Where is the paid advertisement banner?
I Bought That Very FN 5.7 Because of The Review You Did Where you Sent it through The Car and Vest. So you Sir Cost Me $1600.00 Dead Presidents. I have Literally Ran One Mag Through It. I Cleaned it Put It In My Safe Room and Hasn’t been Touched Since That Day. But It will Be There When I Need It.
Liberty ammo penetrate 9 out 10 soft bodyarmor I tested on,(7 of the 3a, and 3 were level 2.) OH also 2 aggressive dogs. 1 coyote. 1 200lbs feral hog.. 9mm 50gr, 40cal 60gr and 45acp 75 gr
I used to carry a 5.7 due to more bad guys wearing body armor so...I switched to 9mm
ok
Dots on CCW are a highly overrated fashion trend. 1st adjustable sights, then laser sights (everybody had to have them) now dots. Hurry and buy one before the next big thing comes out. I'll stick with what works amazingly well at fighting distances, iron sights, and probably won't use them in the heat of battle for my life. Just being honest.
Properly loaded 10mm beats both these
The 5.7 only works on American troops. When tested at Ft Hood it was very effective. The medical reports quoted rifle like injuries. So 5.7 is great for troops but not so much for anything else.
Link the medical reports. Everyone says this but no one ever backs it up
Mil courts aren’t as open with their findings but I believe civies should be able to find the firearms used and the death toll.
@tabithaswartz6139 all hearsay. No ones ever been able to provide a single medical report that people talk about
@@tabithaswartz6139false, the base medical facility only had one trauma bay, we had to fly the rest out to temple, the casualty rate was high because his initial shooting we’re head wounds, not to mention the unborn baby, in fact the DOD police he got into with he shot the female officer who shot him and she was shot in the lower extremity’s and pelvis and lived, it took to long to get to the casualties until guys in the surrounding barracks started first line treatment and started cas evac in their own vehicles, not to mention the initial reports we were getting was that there were multiple shooters in multiple locations on hood so we had to scramble to shut everything down
@@GlockyMcGlockFace I was involved on some of the civil litigation on that whole mess.
Some days Tim looks like a 12 year old, other days he looks 45. Today is the 12.
5.7. Is booty even compared to .380 unless you have ap ammo
Ok for civilians to own?
There's no federal restrictions on 5.7 i don't think. Places like CA might not have a 5.7 on the roster, though. The black tip ammo though, less sure about.
Any armor peircing ammo carried in a handgun is illegal. Now there are going to be people argue with me, but go look up 18 USC 921 (a)(17)(B). Specifically related to handguns, not green/black tip for rifles. I would never carry AP rounds in pistol. Just practice pelvic and head shot to counter body armor.
In my department we’ve had 4 shootings where the subject was shot in the pelvis. None survived.
@@nevadastrong702 How many shootings have you had where the victim died because they were unable to carry armor penetrating rounds legally?
Thats only technically true, if theyre rated for armor penetration they are illegal. That being said many rounds can penetrate armor still, that's just not their entire purpose or main selling point. And at the end of the day, the right of the people to keep and bare arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. I don't remember seeing any asterisks that talk about what cartridge the people are allowed to have in the constitution.
I’ve never seen anyone questioned on what ammo they have, and if your that concerned just paint the tip
G9 AP?
I just carry an AR pistol beneath my trench coat in a scabbard and a spare mag of M855 under the top of my hat to defeat armor with … until Sig pays me to shill
Thumbs down on the video for not being upfront about getting paid by sig to make this vid sorry I like honesty and we get that with Glock lol
Anyone who carries a 5.7 for self defense immediately discredits themselves. 5.7 is for when you want to have a tremendous amount of pass-thru. No average citizen should be using it as their edc and Tim is clearly just a marketing shill.
If you conceal carry a 5.7 you are an absolute dork and try hard...
Care to expand on the why of it?
If you've had a TH-cam channel for 13 years and only have 2 subscribers maybe you should consider trying hard .. or at least trying?
