Would like to a comparison of 30 super carry vs 5.7 vs a non body armor wearing situation. If its a body wearing situation than of course you need 5.56 . The reason i am interested in 30 super carry is that it is a tweener between 380 ACP and 9MM . i always wanted a 5.7 until i watched a bunch of ballistic testing with different 5.7 rounds. Theyre really unimpressive. They make 9mm bullets now that come close to the same speeds and leave a bigger wound channel. 9mm is just the all around king for handguns i.m.o.

The SS190 is not a proper civilian ammo. It over penetrates unless meeting armor, by all of the data and videos I've seen. The 9mm might be putting more mass into your target, but there again you are using specialize ammo. A 9mm isn't going through body armor. Your argument is not logical since the way you started it off was stating "the bad guys wearing body armor." Unless you are using an AP round in the 9mm, it isn't going through. Then that's illegal once again, unless you hold a special license or Federal permit to do so. Shot placement was always a key in your videos, I've watched. The 57 allows better shot placement, follow up, and less recoil. It also provides a cartridge where the SS197 dumps all its energy into the target and, by tests I've seen on YT and from other reports on the 57 during shootings, does not, in 90% of cases, over penetrate the target. A 9mm that doesn't expand almost always over penetrates. The 57 round will also lose a lot of power when penetrating home walls. A 9mm will not. It will continue through the entire structure unless hitting something substantial to stop it. Again, unless there is something you are not revealing, your entire argument for the switch is illogical. I do however respect your views and your own opinions. Enough said. Take Care and Stay Safe.

Any armor peircing ammo carried in a handgun is illegal. Now there are going to be people argue with me, but go look up 18 USC 921 (a)(17)(B). Specifically related to handguns, not green/black tip for rifles. I would never carry AP rounds in pistol. Just practice pelvic and head shot to counter body armor.
Thats only technically true, if theyre rated for armor penetration they are illegal. That being said many rounds can penetrate armor still, that's just not their entire purpose or main selling point. And at the end of the day, the right of the people to keep and bare arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. I don't remember seeing any asterisks that talk about what cartridge the people are allowed to have in the constitution.
A red dot and light on a carry pistol for civilians not fighting “cartels” is super unnecessary. If you have time to stand and aim at someone then your life is not in danger. The exception is someone breaking into your home
I mean, a gun light? What if it's dark out? You know, when the majority of criminals are prowling? A red dot? Maybe you're at your kid's football game and some loser is 40 yards away with his dad's AR-15 mowing people down? People should carry for the sole reason of never knowing when, where and what others might do to require some ventilation. Lights and red dots add extra layers of capability.

Gabriel Suarez - SUAREZ TACTICS ...is a great fan of CZ... Do you have Bulgarian Arsenal (Kazanluk) Kalashnikov rifles, as well as Arcus 94 pistols ove in SA...

Because I can hit whatever I want already without using the sights. Optics are fine, but not needed if you are a good shooter.
then why is the competition with the largest participation carry optics? all the best shooters use optics on their pistols in 2024.
@@jessegpresley
Sure, competitions are great.
I don't want to add extra bulk and weight on my concealed firearm with an optic when I don't need to.
@@RicArmstrong cool, then don't. Why do you care what anyone else says if it works for you
@@CheetoDust365
I didn't tell anyone what to carry. I'm just saying I've seen people put far too much faith into some expensive optic when oftentimes they never prop learned to shoot with iron sights.
Why would you leave anything available on the table when you're talking about personal defense? Surely one would want every advantage available, regardless of skill.
The SS190 black FN is not available anywhere. I bought the CMMG DISSENT M4 5.7 to defeat body armor with the ss190 but cant get it.
Would like to a comparison of 30 super carry vs 5.7 vs a non body armor wearing situation. If its a body wearing situation than of course you need 5.56 .
The reason i am interested in 30 super carry is that it is a tweener between 380 ACP and 9MM . You could make a micro compact and it will hopefully deliver more penetration and expansion than a 380 acp and less perceived recoil than a 9 mm .
It's the same argument for .45 auto... do you want 7 rounds or 15? Well with 9mm vs 5.7 it is do you want 21-23 rounds or 15?
my psa 5.7 has 31 rounds with the mag extension
For most in Texas the Armor Piercing ammunition would be a prohibited weapon according to Texas Penal Code 46.05 (2) unless they are LE or have it coincidental to a military or agency function. SDR/Tim has a Type 02/07 FFL so can have some stuff people outside of the industry can't have but check your local laws before you go out and pay $399 for a box of 50 SS190 rounds (which is the current rate on the open market).
I switched to the Sig19 .454 casull.
What light do you recommend for the p365? i have an xl grip not a macro. So no pic rail. I have a macro grip, i just prefer the xl
I actually Started Converting All My Hand Guns Over The 9mm, my Reason Is For Ammo Cost, Availability, Average Ballistics, But The Main Reason is Being able to have plenty of Ammo at My Fingertips To Use that is Absolutely 100 % Interchangeable With Every Weapon That Would be Utilized In a Nasty Situation. So Getting To The Optic and Light, I have Used Both For many Years now, I Run The Stream lights TL-8AG Because the Green Laser distance and Clarity.
I'm curious why not 357 sig?
What’s the best turniket, forgive my spelling.
Now you need to get a DBX 5.7 and have mag compatibility. Absolutely love mine!
Sold my five sevens for stacattos . Such an upgrade 👌
In a similar thought process I think the 7.5 fk Brno has a lot of merit for ccw other than the price tag.
Have you tried G9 rounds?
How do you tie your shoes with one of those AIWB?
I'm over 50 so still humping around 357sig.
I was done at 5.7 for carry
I’m not comfortable with you being a gun owning civilian, Tim. Im sure you can understand.
@sheepdogresponse What hat are you wearing here? Looks comfy.
Surprised you didn’t speak about civil defense 9mm. It’s over 2000 feet a second out of a 3” barrel
I really like my FN Five-seveN MRD FDE
Why do people grab the optic to rack the slide. That creates wear and tear. I know it’s “built for that” but don’t you want it to last, and work when it needs to?
No judgement literally just wondering?
Crazy. I have that FN MK3 in FDE sitting around my house collecting dust right now with my FN PS90 SBR (Form-1). I added the threaded extended barrel Jarvis makes on the MK3 pistol and literally never shot it after swapping. Both of my FN’s are novelty guns though. Fun to collect, but not really practical unless I’m at the range with SS190’s (black tips) messing around with steel.
I love how there are so many presumptuous comments on this post. Dafuc is wrong with you people? Are you that insignificant that you have nothing better to do than troll? Disagreement with someone on their input is one thing, to just blatantly tell them you know more of why than they are saying, dude, that's just kindergarten. Now to answer the question presented; I carried .40 a large portion of my career (once I was allowed to toss my M9 aside) and inherently chose that as my primary concealed round for years, but switched back to 9mmm about 4 years ago. I also carry the 365 Legion or VP9SK, depending on my mood and activities. I will say to carry a 5.7 never would have entered my mind.
G9 AP?
Wouldn’t have anything to do with your sponsorship??
I stack rounds. Civil Defense and Underwood Extreme Defense. One for penetrating soft armor and the other for more solid objects.
Which for which and what are your favorite grains in those ?
i always wanted a 5.7 until i watched a bunch of ballistic testing with different 5.7 rounds. Theyre really unimpressive. They make 9mm bullets now that come close to the same speeds and leave a bigger wound channel. 9mm is just the all around king for handguns i.m.o.
I watched a guy on here shooting 119gr 5.7 they looked like they punched hard plus 1700fps
From what I've saw 5.7 doesn't defeat body armor and I think it was like IIIA also I don't know if I'd trust my life on a sig theyre just iffy discharging when un-commanded frames snapping in half idk sigs Qc used to be good back in the day not now
Elite Sig ammo is trash HST or Gold dot is much better even federal punch is solid
I was carrying a full size M&p 2.p 4inch barrel. I went down to the p365 standard with 12 plus 1 and smith & wesson shield plus with 13 plus 1, and much more enjoyable to carry on my 5 feet 10 inches rall, 182lb frame
REAL REASON- SIG gave him a free gun and a wml and some ammo.
A a Brand NEW 🔫/📱/👖/👟/🚗/🛻... Is great to have ur hands on
I thought you EDC'd 8.6 Blackout 😜
Walther PDP Pro X also one to consider.
Don't forget the copper tungsten core 9mm rounds. You got plenty of money lol. They are out there
Thank you for your knowledge of your craft sir 🫡👍
Am I just weeeetarded? I thought AP 5.7 was illegal. Am I crazy?
It’s not
@@digitalpunk5365 wait seriously? I thought any AP hand gun ammo was banned? They almost banned 5.7 outright a while back because of its generally high punch through rate even without the AP ammo
It's just extremely expensive and extremely difficult to find.
@@ryanjones3043 Technically the 5.7x28 was developed as a rifle round for the P90. Rifle AP ammo isn't banned, so it's legal to own it.
You thought that the right of the people to keep and bare arms was supposed to be infringed upon? Thats silly.
Some Mexican army officers carry the 5.7 also. Probably for the same reasons.
So you carry a cartridge that cant defeat a FBI gel test but in the off chance you come across cartel wearing a vest your amour defeating rounds will come in handy. Kool story. 😂😂😂
Some days Tim looks like a 12 year old, other days he looks 45. Today is the 12.
Ok for civilians to own?
There's no federal restrictions on 5.7 i don't think. Places like CA might not have a 5.7 on the roster, though. The black tip ammo though, less sure about.
I carry without an optic because I am an independent thinker, who isn't a slave to trends. And very effective without one.
Fort scott ammunition 9mm penetrates body armor too
Get a trijicon. That Walmart optic will shatter when you look at it the wrong way
Pretty sure carrying armor piercing rounds while legal for rifles carbines and SMG is illegal for handguns
Didn’t that Fort Hood shooter that killed all those guys on base use a 5.7 ?? If I remember correctly it had a HELL OF A MORTALITY rate. Even on base with combat experienced medics. Hmm that’s a tough argument
Love it. I'd really like to carry a 5.7 caliber piece if someone made a fricking sub compact model. I'm manlet size so carrying a duty size pistol ain't gonna work that well. But I've thought for a while a 5.7 would be a great carry option.
Will never happen. The bullets are very long for a handgun, and the velocity is horrible with anything shorter than the FN barrel length.
Palmetto state armory has compact coming out here soon
I carry 5.7 and a P365. Clothing choice and location dictates. I’m an underwood ammo fan. The Black Tips are never available.
Liberty ammo penetrate 9 out 10 soft bodyarmor I tested on,(7 of the 3a, and 3 were level 2.) OH also 2 aggressive dogs. 1 coyote. 1 200lbs feral hog.. 9mm 50gr, 40cal 60gr and 45acp 75 gr
Or maybe just maybe did Sig just sponsor you so you’re going to “rock” one of their shit blasters because they have a track record of just that
The 5.7 is a nice middle ground between 9mm and .22 magnum 🤦
I carry 9mm concealed until I’m camping in bear country. Then it’s a 10mm open carry.
Dam Tim K. I finally found your channel. Hope ypu are well, God Bless you and your family and ALL of us . Thank You For My FREEDOM my friend My Brother in God Above. Amen.

Ammo availability
Omg, I carry a 50 cal. Bmg.......sheez, thanks for teaching us like a kindergarten teacher.
Yoel doesn’t need a gun.
The 5.7 ammo is so expensive. I’ve shot two mags and had to stop lol
Then you may not be bright enough to use Google. 5.7 is like fifty cents a round, no worse than 556 or when 9mm was fifty cents not that long ago.
Extreme defender in everything
Any armor peircing ammo carried in a handgun is illegal. Now there are going to be people argue with me, but go look up 18 USC 921 (a)(17)(B). Specifically related to handguns, not green/black tip for rifles. I would never carry AP rounds in pistol. Just practice pelvic and head shot to counter body armor.
In my department we’ve had 4 shootings where the subject was shot in the pelvis. None survived.
@@nevadastrong702 How many shootings have you had where the victim died because they were unable to carry armor penetrating rounds legally?
Thats only technically true, if theyre rated for armor penetration they are illegal. That being said many rounds can penetrate armor still, that's just not their entire purpose or main selling point. And at the end of the day, the right of the people to keep and bare arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. I don't remember seeing any asterisks that talk about what cartridge the people are allowed to have in the constitution.
I’ve never seen anyone questioned on what ammo they have, and if your that concerned just paint the tip
Where is the paid advertisement banner?
5.7 out of a 3.5in barrel is not going through anything a 22 mag won't. This guy thinks 22 is better for body armor 😆
If you conceal carry a 5.7 you are an absolute dork and try hard...
Care to expand on the why of it?
If you've had a TH-cam channel for 13 years and only have 2 subscribers maybe you should consider trying hard .. or at least trying?
Love my 5.7 carry it all the time and for work I carry a sig p320.. I did my testing green tips all the way
@@bushwhookie1334 carrying the P320 explains everything we need to know.
@Kh2456 lolol sorry my agency can afford high quality guns
A red dot and light on a carry pistol for civilians not fighting “cartels” is super unnecessary. If you have time to stand and aim at someone then your life is not in danger. The exception is someone breaking into your home
I mean, a gun light? What if it's dark out? You know, when the majority of criminals are prowling?
A red dot? Maybe you're at your kid's football game and some loser is 40 yards away with his dad's AR-15 mowing people down?
People should carry for the sole reason of never knowing when, where and what others might do to require some ventilation. Lights and red dots add extra layers of capability.
I thought he carried a cheytac 408
You can’t unring the gun control bell and unfortunately because I only ever see you recommend companies that sponsor you I can’t really trust any of your recommendations. I wish that were different, I used to be a big fan but that trust is hard to win back.
Zipper drill. Body armor stops both rounds.
