    I really love how these Blueprints are implemented. The fact that you can see them in the file explorer and books are directories is nice. I like to handle raw data it makes organization and backing up so much easier.
    And how they manage the editing of blueprints is awesome. In factorio it can be frustrating if you forgot just one thing. Then you have to do it all over again including the setup of icons, renaming etc. This makes the editing/creating of a project like your "master class" or "base in a book" series so much more difficult.

    I think a 'orbital collector'-style miner would be great. A floating miner with a big mining radius (enough to cover most veins) that also doubled as an interstellar logistics station. Imagine just stamping down a floating miner on top of a vein and being done with it.

    • @Cyberginger1
      @Cyberginger1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There is a mod that adds a planetary miner and it works the same way the collectors on gas giants work. I think what you suggested would be better but until it exists that is the next best thing

    System is very reminiscent of Factorio's blueprints.
    Not that that's bad. It worked wonderfully, so I am happy the DSP devs didnt try to reinvent the wheel when there's a perfectly functional system already there to replicate (And which most of your player base probably knows personally already)

  • @fijau
    @fijau 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks, great tutorial. That miner blueprint is fantastic!
    You have missed the option of actually putting blueprints into different folders. It's not intuitive. You can't drag and drop them into folders, or rename folders in game. If you want to move blueprint to a folder (optionally creating the folder if it doesn't already exist) you need to rename it. As blueprint name is actually a path. So, in order to move/save a blueprint "Blueprint 1" to a folder "Folder 1", you need to write the name of the blueprint like this: "Folder 1/Blueprint 1". Saving it will be immediately visible in the blueprints menu.

    An idea for the "magic miner" (just from watching, not tested yet): Wouldn't it be better to go one step back and make a blueprint for two parallel miners with belts+power poles only? Place north side, rotate, place the east, ... You have to place the logistics station and connect the corners at the end, but that's a lot more flexible regarding the actual geography.

    • @chemie7037
      @chemie7037 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, the magic miner here is tricky to use; just one miner not touching ore and it will not build. Going for 2 N and 2 S might help that

    • @coleblooded42
      @coleblooded42 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I made a half mine blueprint with just two sides(a corner, 4 miners) and it picks up most of the ones that the big one does. It can get some on fault lines but not all

    • @chemie7037
      @chemie7037 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@coleblooded42 ditto. I have the ILS and North/West miners. A second blueprint for East/South. Then just connect belts to the ILS from there.

  • @leftblank131
    @leftblank131 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had a weird one happen. Applied the polar make everything blueprint and tried to put warpers into a tower to gather rare from another system for item production. They just vanished. No ship launched or anything. Checking if it was a 1 off error, i did it again w/ a really low amount, but same thing happened. When i deconstructed the tower I did not get the warpers back. Reconstructing tower and trying again, it did not cause the warpers to vanish.
    NOTE: This is not the 'error' I've read about that happens when people put warpers into one of the 5 slots and haven't unlocked logistic warp yet.

    I would suggest making some blueprints for the more basic things, like the start of the game jumpstart, or something more tedious like red science. The things that new players might struggle with, because those are going to be less common than the massive endgame-ish blueprint designs. I found this game by watching you and I think if others do then they'll be happy to have someone who builds so well making and sharing those things to help.

    Awesome video, I'm super excited to be using blueprints finally. One thing I've noticed, don't use demand for local AND demand remotely on the same interplanetary logistics station, especially if you need to actually get it locally (say for hydrogen while making graphene or whatever it is from fireice) because it seems to prefer getting it remotely since it's getting 1000 per trip rather than 100. you'll get clogged up locally. so what I've done is only demand locally and use specific stations for demanding remotely that supply locally if I need more than what I'm able to provide otherwise.

    • @Nilaus
      @Nilaus  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      When the demand is 10000 and it drops to 9900 it will send out a Drone to fill it up. Only if the Drones cannot keep up and it drops below 9000 will it send out a Vessel to pick it up remotely.
      Demanding both is a great way to prioritise Local over Remote

    Was kinda hoping for this be some kind of "planning mode" where you would just be able to place whatever building there is in game as a "blueprint" and later fill these up when you got the materials...as far as I understand it this isn't really possible with the current system is it?

  • @YouCountSheep
    @YouCountSheep 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You could make one or 2 more magic miner blueprints with different gaps, maybe even one where they are arranged circular or oval even, seeing that most nodes aren't circular anyways, you might have more success without having to manually bury nodes. With time you should be able to see from the size and shape of the node itself which one of those miner blueprints will work on it rather than trying to place the simple square one down and fiddle with it.

    Yes! Totally using the magic miner setup. Perfect timing with me reaching late game. Thank you! Master class would be soooo awesome!

    Your miner setup inspired me to do the same including a half setup to use near tropic lines that I can quickly put down and add one or two miner on the other side of tropic line should I choose.

    When i hit ctrl c, it goes into blueprint mode but then the planet starts to spin in random directions by itself rendering it unusable. Is there a setting that needs to be changed or is it a bug???

    Well all one needs to do for the magic miner setup is to manually adjust a couple of miners after placing and it's still way faster than self placing.
