Awesome. If a blank ever has a crack like that again, it'd be awesome to use gold pigmented resin to replicate Kintsugi. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold - built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art.
That's a wonderful idea. You taught me how the Japanese think about embracing the flaws. I love learning new idea's. The Japanese are very insightful and inspiring. Thank you, Joel Venables.
Gold, silver, or other materials. This is one of my favorite concepts, so much so I made a spell in D&D based around it for my artificer (An archeologist) to use when studying broken objects.
Wow Ben….I think this is your most professional piece yet! It’s just beautiful! You should do more of these & put them in your shop 😃 Maybe you could do one that kept ‘the foot’ on it so it stands taller, a bit like an urn shape or one of those French vases??? Well done mate!
Wow, that is just beautiful. Would've also been awesome to see the wood a little more in a lighter colored resin but I love it! You have amazing skills Ben...bravo!
I think anything that is round is your expertise. This lidded pot is absolutely gorgeous, Ben. The colors worked out so beautifully. The lid is exquisite in its shape and attachment to the bowl. You are a great artist. And,Ben I love the egg you made for me so much. Thank you so everything you create and show us in the video's. You are amazing.
I love the way the cracked area turned out. It would be cool to intentionally make something with cracks all through it, then fill with a different colour!
That's kind of something he's done! Kind of. Check out the Popcorn in Resin videos, he filled the voids and cracks with some resin and even now I think they turned out amazing!
That's a stunner, beautiful colour and shape. I liked watching the close ups, awesome watching you work and turn into a resin snowman 😂 Thank you, have a good weekend 👍
I just came back upstairs from about 7 hours on my lathe making lanyard beads after hitting my woodworking supply store to acquire some treasures. Nice to watch someone else do the work after a marathon like that. Beautiful piece, man.
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS KIND OF PROJECT DONE WITH CLEAR RESIN TO SEE ALL THE WOOD MAYBE STAIN AND GOLD LEAF SOME OF IT ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS THIS ONE MUCH LOVE AND HAPPINESS
I had no idea how this was going to come out and even had my doubts but Thai is probably the best thing you have made (in my opinion) it looks amazing I even got off my tv and onto my phone just so I could comment about it, it turned out truly amazing!
This is the first complaint I've ever had to make on this channel. I would have liked to see more of the finished piece, so I can enjoy looking at it and listening to more of the music. A sensory feast!
Ben, would you ever do a Q and A ? Makers and Crafters of " stuff" fascinate me, and I wonder what motivates people. Myself? It was out of necessity , kids needed warm jumpers, so I yarndoodled them some. Then it comes in handy for presents when your skint, but yarn is cheap and bingo!!
Is it wrong to say that I absolutely loved the lack of music? Something about hearing all the sounds of your shop, as worked, made me pay more attention to what you were making. Gorgeous little pot!!
I love the pot cam it is my favorite. I’ve been looking for something like this so we can see what’s going on inside this chamber. You are awesome. Your videos are awesome. I’m digging everything thank you thank you thank you for producing these videos love❤❤❤❤❤
You know, Ive always wondered what would happen if you use resin in a container, but let it set while its rolling. Would it just come out ugly with random air pockets? Would it come out fractured or with a hole in the middle if its mixed fast enough? Would be kinda neat to see.
Wow. I wasn't sure where this was going or how it was going to turn out, especially given how the wood looked at the start and how much had to be trimmed to fit the blank, and then how much gets removed when turning... But that is truly stunning.

Thanks Mate, yeah gold would be cool

Cool!
I thought it had a good Japanese influence about it, would've carried the gold well, good idea.

i honestly have no words for how it turned out... it looks like a real fireplace or something similar, i didn't expected the effect at the end.
You should 3D print yourself and make an egg
That would be cool. A little Ben in an egg.
I like the project and the fact it looks great
Wow, that is just beautiful. Would've also been awesome to see the wood a little more in a lighter colored resin but I love it! You have amazing skills Ben...bravo!

I haven't even finished the video yet, but you already hooked me with the color choice.

Stunning ♥♥

Ooh you should try microwaved ivory soap in resin to look like clouds!
Very beautiful!
Wow. I wasn't sure where this was going or how it was going to turn out, especially given how the wood looked at the start and how much had to be trimmed to fit the blank, and then how much gets removed when turning...
But that is truly stunning.
Wow This looks so beautiful 😍😍
The depth of color is certainly beautiful...but the wood is so interesting, I might've gone lighter to show it off. Maybe a revisit...?
