Hey 👋🏾 omg 🤯thanks for watching and yes I put Dyson air strait on 4c hair and your video popped up….I’m going to pin your comment so everyone can check out your review 🤎🤎🤎
Hello love 👋🏾🤭 I appreciate that. And while I’m here I’ll leave my two cents 🤣 I think the direct marketing by Dyson, showed us exactly what it would look like on type 4 hair. I think as consumers we have to move away from wanting everything to work for everybody, especially when it comes to hair. I only purchased it because I knew ppl would wanna see it on my type hair. If I didn’t create content, I would’ve never purchased it. Now my Airwrap is a different story, I love it! Lol
@@HeyKnottyGirl Thank you for biting the bullet and purchasing it so we can all get an honest review…I have to look into the airwrap…the price tags have always completely turned me away from all things Dyson🤎
The Dyson Air Strait isn't a flat iron, it's basically a hair dryer, and yes I think they are trying to compete with the RevAir. Dyson actually has a flat iron, the Corrale, but they seem to be discontinuing it. It only goes up to 410F and it didn't get good reviews from the few Black women that reviewed it.
As girl with type 4 hair and someone who uses and loves Dyson regular blow dryer and the airwrap (I got them on discount the full price was nasty) I love how they were honest with their ad and they did admit it won’t work the same for everyone showing that it’s not going to give the same results as other girls, the air strait is a hair dryer the plates are not heated it’s not supposed to make your hair silky smooth look at the other girls with looser hair texture it always looks like they’ve blow dried it. I’m not mad at it honestly blow dried hair looks different on hair textures we shouldn’t be upset over this they’re literally saving so many people wallets from buying it not all products have to work on all hair textures this was a great example.
Don't be confused by the design of the product. This product is not (and was never advertised as) a flat iron. It has no heated plates. It is in fact a wet to dry tool, meaning start on wet/damp hair. Do your research. Never just buy something because someone else did. Also in the 2nd video she DEFINITELY had the tool upside down. Unfortunate. Also, it's ok if some products/devices aren't the best for your hair. Everything isn't for everyone. I don't understand people saying "Dyson as a company needs to do better"; if you don't like the tool don't buy it. They aren't forcing anyone. And you can't make them suddenly be a "4C first" company. Companies like that exist so patronize them instead if you feel the need. It seems to be overly negative to be upset at this. Like, "How dare they not treat me special!". Idk, that's just how it sounds to me 🤷🏾♀️ Personally, I adore my Supersonic Blow Dryer. I use the comb attachment and the Flyaway Brush to blow out my hair regularly. It's faster, no scorched smell, and the hair is much smoother than any traditional dryer I have tried. I also enjoy the RevAir but my Dyson is just a bit better for the results I desire for my blowouts. And of course I've used the diffuser and other attachments on my wash and gos. Faster dry time than a regular blow dryer by far, not super loud, etc.
Though I didn't like any of the Dyson tools I have tried I do agree with you on this. They didn't design it to get max results on afro hair and that's ok. We have the Revair for that. We can't have everything.
It's a blow dryer not flat iron. It's just not possible to blow dry type 4 hair straight. Anyone who thinks otherwise is absolutely delulu! I understand being curious and testing it in store (yes you can do that). But paying 700 dollars and making a surprise Pikachu face that it doesn't work on your 4c hair is just plain stupid. If you just want a blowout, there are quicker and more efficient way to do it. If you want straight hair, the only way to do it is with a flat iron. However I love Dyson honesty, demonstrating how the technology works on every hair type without lying to us. It may be a revolution for wavy or losely curled hair but it's not for us and that's okay. Dyson has some tools that works really well for us but this is not one of them.
Dyson sells the Airstraight for about $500 on their website. If you are seeing it for $700 buy it direct from Dyson. I have the Airstraight and type 4a-4b hair. I really like the results I get. I would not recommend for 4c hair. I get a good blowout/straight look but not a silk press look. I don’t mind the cost since I really don’t want heat damage. I love the Dyson Corrale flatiron too. I use it on the medium heat setting and it’s a beautiful result. I was so impressed with my Dyson products that I just purchased the Supersonic Nural blow dryer.
I got that number from the video I got the information from originally but 500.00 is still very expensive but I’m happy to hear you’re getting great results from your Dysons🤎🤎🤎
I’ve had my revair since 2018 and have been perfectly satisfied these past 6 years. I’m good on the air straight lol and yes revair does work great on 4c hair. If it doesn’t for you, then you’re doing something wrong
I’m doing a live panel about the revair in January 2025 because a woman in my discord realized heat damage from it but I want the live to be far and balanced so if you’re interested in sharing your experience please email me coffeecuties777@gmail.com 🤎🤎🤎🤎
It's not that it's excluding type 4 hair (why do we always just say 4c?), but that this device obviously is not going to EVER work the same on different types of hair. The revair is actually vaccuming or pulling your hair taut into the dryer so that's why it works but a product like this could never because of the nature of our hair. It's literally the same reason why someone with wavy hair doesn't need to pre-stretch their hair with a blow dryer just to flat iron it. The same reason why they don't need a silk press and don't need to do this that and the third to straighten it. They can literally flat iron their unwashed hair. They don't need to do a fresh wash. They can flat iron their wavy hair they washed 2 days ago. But we literally can't flat iron a twist out or wash n go without washing it first. Our hair is just different. It reacts different and behaves different. If anything, they were being inclusive by trying to show how it would work on dry type 4 hair. Someone in the comments claimed that this is a wet to dry product only and that's false. It literally has both wet and dry settings. And you can use it on dry hair. Other models show using it on dry hair which is probably why they did it dry on the type 4 model. Idk about the upside down claims but it's literally Dyson's own ad lol. Why would they put it upside down? And no, they weren't trying to rage bait. Unless you think showing actual type 4 hair behave like actual type 4 hair is somehow rage bait lol. Anyway, that's my two cents.
Thanks for sharing and great points🤎…I only say 4c because unfortunately that’s how TH-cam still pushes type 4 hair content but I personally prefer coily or kinky or even saying type 4 hair and great points about the way different hair types blow dry their hair and that’s true about product usage…the results were literally the same as the Dyson ad so I believe it definitely was used correctly 🤎🤎🤎
Dyson consumers behave like cult members who believe they've found the best thing since sliced bread. Dyson products just aren't for highly textured hair. The Revair is also a waste of money, it can't even get close to the results of a round brush and a regular hair dryer. I guess some people really enjoy spending an unnecessary amount of time doing simple tasks that could be completed in a fraction of the time.
Revair isn't supposed to give roundbrush results.🤦🏾♀️ It's just to stretch. No one tool will ever give results as good as a brush and high heat blow dryer...that's a given.
I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner. It has saved me money as it is reliable and never breaks down. If I want a vacuum cleaner I will get another from them. A straight iron is ridiculous. No race should buy it regardless of hair type. A simple blow dryer and flat iron is all you need. I can blow dry and flat iron my long type 4 hair in under an hour. It’s a skill that took time to learn, but is cheap once you learn it.
Hey Coffee Cuties! I don't straighten my hair so I'm not sure how the process works but the end result looks more like it was blowdried rather than straightened... yet the product is advertised as a straightener 🤔. I agree with AHG and I don't think it's for us and it's definitely not worth $700. NEXT! 😆
I thought it gave realistic results and I feel that people want it to come out like you know that straight 1A type hair on black hair and we know our hair just natural doesn’t do that
Narata confirmed my thought: for a $700 product, I expect it to take my hair from wet to dry and straight. I understand that Dyson views coily textured hair as an afterthought. I wouldn't buy their product. I would greatly prefer the RevAir over that tool.
Maybe it was their way of saying "we didn't make this for y'all negros".🤣🤣🤣 All of their hair tools that I've tried are overpriced trash but the vacuums...I rock with those!
Wait….is that me in the thumbnail!? 🤣🤣🤣

I agree with this comment. I think people got offended by the demo video/ad when it wasn't warranted.
Same I have it and it works fine for me
“My comb could’ve done that” had me rolling 😂
Lmao 🤣

There is no such thing as one (size) for all. People are looking for reasons to be mad.

I don't even think it would cost me $700 to get a Japanese straightening treatment, which leaves your hair straight for months!
True🤎
Absolutely not worth it

lol they think we gonna jump on that cause they put a blk girl in there with natural hair..😅 it’s def a money grab
Right smh 🤦🏾♀️
The product wasn’t even on. The same way the hair went in was the same way the hair came out.
Why would they show I ad with the product off?
@ They do the same when showing food adverts too. Most of the time the food is fake even the steam coming of the food is actually smoke.
