- One of the best benefits of posting our arrowhead hunting videos on social media has been the people we have met and continue to meet. We have had the opportunity to hunt some of the greatest sites imaginable and today was no exception. Through social media we met Sam and he invited us up to Wayne County Mississippi to hunt one of his sites and we must say it was absolutely everything we could have hoped for! What a fantastic site! We were so glad to be there when Sam pulled an amazing artifact out of the ground. We have never had the good fortune to find or see one found in person. We know you’re going to enjoy this one! Great video fellas. I have been making some stone marbles lately. I have power tools and modern abrasives and its still difficult. I appreciate the effort it took to make their stone tools with only what they could scrounge up. God Bless you and yours fellas.

Fellowship of the Headhunters, it warms my heart to see Good People with a love for artifact hunting get together and find some jewels, I use to have family and friends that liked to get together and headhunt but very few of my old compatriots are into it anymore but on the very rare occasion any of us do get together it is a joy, my nephew is really into Arrowhead Hunting now and is always wanted to go but unfortunately I haven't been mobile in awhile so I basically just go where my two legs can take me but it's fun even to get out and look regardless if you find any points, Thanks For Sharing....GL&HH✌

Nice bannerstone for a throwing stick - I think some of these were also used as a counterweight to make a bow drill spin better.

Incredible finds! I wonder if that bannerstone might be a stone pipe. It almost looked like the drill didn’t go all the way through the piece. Of course, I wasn’t holding it and you guys aren’t exactly rookies so I’d defer to your judgement...but it’s a thought. Great video!

@@HeartbreakerRelics Cool ! I didn’t even know they had iron up there. You wonder how they got that line so straight without a wire saw and a straight edge. Did they have Indians that canoed to Egypt and back for tips on stone masonry. I found 2/3 of a boat stone on some family land and it’s polished like that . Such a different technology than napping out flint. Have loved those videos for years now. My heart jumps ( almost as much as watching Gilligans island reruns . Ha ha! Not really )when I see those new posts. Thanks again!
@@ronlawrence342 lol thanks Ron. If you look close at the break on the bannerstone you should be able to see that it broke along the groove on the other end. Assuming the grooves were each the same distance from the end you can tell the size of it before it was broken. It never ceases to amaze me of the technology they had. These were smart people!
Ok I’m very new to finding arrow heads. I’m planning a dig for me and my sister. I love y’all’s videos. Keep up the good work, but I have a question. What is DHMO? I just use plain ole water.

I found a nut all just walking down beside of a little creek there one day I’ve always kind of kept an eye out for arrowheads, but I’ve never found one but my son has but I’m retired now and I’m fixing to start really looking and I’m getting a lot of ideas from y’all especially the creek stuff. I hunt around a lot of creeks where it’s very possible that they would be some. Thank you for your videos. I enjoy them very much and I believe y’all‘s ideas will help me. God bless!

Hey y'all. Super curious as to the quantity and sizes of the artifacts in this site. I'm personally digging in very, very large mid-archaic settlements here in central Virginia. A hole similar to to the size I'm seeing around 7:12 minutes in, would have produced 3-5+ five gallon buckets of artifacts, from micro-lithic items a few millimeters in length up to items weighing 10-20+ lbs. Looking at the excavations I'm not seeing the quantity of small every day type tools, flakes and personal items. The sites I'm digging, as I stated previously are 100% mid-archaic, with no
mixing of cultures, so far. All the sites are virgin, with me being the only one to ever locate and dig. It's very strange to see a place with perfect elevation with spring fed water sources and a medium sized creek nearby, not get used in the last 4-8 thousand years buy other Indian cultures. These sites cover 70-80++ acres and you cannot stick a screwdriver in the ground anywhere without it starting many hours of digging. Around here almost everything is a type of crystal, vein, purple, milky or some other type of quartz. Some sites have a fairly high quality quartzite used to make their tools. We don't have the large flints like they had in other parts of North America so we don't get the huge points. However, we do have huge quantities of artifacts to dig. So much so that it prevents me from being able to properly, document, store and display. I truly want to sell my tens or hundreds of thousands of artifacts to finance a proper excavation, documentation and display of my future collection. Great channel guys. Thanks

Great video man. Do you have any tips for finding the right creek to look in cause I just built a sifter but not really sure what creek to try.
Thanks! We have found that creeks with hard bottoms (clay or rock) make the best hunting creeks. Creeks with minimal gravel and very little sand produce best for us just because they're easier to dig. Probe around until you find gravel then dig and sift. If you aren't finding anything after a couple hours move on to another spot. Good luck and happy hunting.

Thanks for the question. We aren't sure of the material. We're leaning toward a local stone we call "iron rock". It may be hematite which may be why it's called iron rock. We just aren't sure.

that looked like a broken pipe mold do you think thy would tey a clay pipe? im about half or maybe a little more cherokee do you think any of those arrowheads were from the cherokee people?
I'm sorry. We did a poor job of explaining what the bannerstone was. Consensus is that they were used as weights or counter weights on atlatls. The atlatl was a spear thrown with a stick or handle. They were used on the thrower as a counter weight to offset the weight of the long spear hanging off the front and when the spear was launched the extra mass on the thrower gave in more momentum. As for any of the points being from the Cherokee, it's doubtful. I'm not sure when the tribe came about and most of these points are very old. This area would have been Choctaw and the only point that may have been from that tribe would have been the first little bird point we found.
