    My mum is buried in this cemetery not far from where Cilla has been laid to rest. It has a lovely layout and I appreciate how simplistic her grave is. Not over the top, just simple and respectful.
    RIP to my mum who died far too young and my condolences to everyone who has lost someone close to them.

    I’m so pleased you have been to see Cilla Black’s grave. Sir Ken Dodd’s grave isn’t far from Cilla and also Julia Lennon’s grave is close by too, who is John Lennon’s Mum. She was tragically killed as she was crossing the road called Menlove Avenue after visiting Aunt Mimi’s house which is near to Allerton Cemetery. Also Rhys Jones aged 12 years is also buried here who was sadly murdered after he had played a game of football in 2007. Oliver King aged 12 years who died after a cardiac arrest whilst he was swimming and could have been saved if there had been a defibrillator available. His Dad Mark has campaigned ever since for defibrillators to be made more accessible. The two boys are buried near my ancestors in Allerton. It’s great that you have made the journey to Merseyside Paul 👍🏼

    I absolutely love the story that Paul Ogrady told at her funeral. They were out drinking together in Spain and when they returned to her holiday home, they discovered they were locked out so Cilla tried to climb through a window and got stuck with her legs in the air, at this point a couple walked past who clearly recognised them and Cilla just said "Surprise, Surprise!" 😂 That girl knew how to have fun!

    I’ve been to her grave not long after she passed away because I am such a massive fan of hers. When I visited her grave, obviously before the headstone was put down, I saw all the flowers that People had put down and all the words that People had put and I saw the flowers that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr had sent to her family. I assume you must know this, but the words on her grave are from one of her songs, you’re my world.

    It was my extreme honor to meet Cilla in February 1977 after her show at Victoria Palace in London, She made a Chicago joke when I told her from the audience my hometown. Never met her…but grew up listening to her music…my middle brother bought “ Anyone Who Had A Heart “ when it came out…I remember him standing ironing his shirt+having Cilla on repeat right to the end of his ironing…I was only very young at the time, but I knew all the words by the time he’d finished ironing his shirt!!! I had a lorra lorra respect for Our Cilla+I watched all her programmes that she made famous+was well known for!!! So sad she died so young!!! RIP Cilla…!!! X🙃❤️🙏🏻✝️

    YES great friends with Paul O'Grady, and some funny stories. I remember those early hits so well as I was a teenager then (giving my age away now LoL)

    There is a beautiful long poem written by Thomas Gray called "Elegy written in a Country Churchyard" or simply "Gray's Elegy" that expresses your feelings, when walking through a graveyard, exactly.

    Nice Tribute Paul! I remember a colleague saying he frequently saw Cilla in Denham Village where she lived. The mind absolutely boggles how anyone would Target her grave for vandalism. That’s really low,there is a minority of poorly behaved people in England that absolutely destroy things for kicks. Anyway, glad you paid your respects. Thanks again.

    For me it was watching the game shows as cilia was fantastic at those every week shows and blind date watching on tv etc… Paul thanks again for another video as with you being able to go around the country some of us won’t be able to see the celebrity Graves that you show & thank you once again Paul you are much appreciated by so many of us. Hi Paul,
    So Glad you found her. I hope my directions were hopefully. My other thing I would just highlight about this video is, didn't you see the grave not next to cilla but the next one to her grave. That the grave of her parents, just surprised you did mention it in the video.

    My Grandmother was a fan of hers. I remember her from the 1990s as a TV presenter on Blind Date
    and Surprise Surprise. There was so much warmth and friendliness about her personality.

      @RAGNAR I'm from the U.S. When people said Cilla Black was also a 'presenter' does that mean host, or in her case, hostess?

    • @fredmar6436
      @fredmar6436 ปีที่แล้ว

      @RAGNAR TY. Even if it's true about her personality, that takes nothing from her beautiful voice and memorable song from '64.TY

    • @fredmar6436
      @fredmar6436 ปีที่แล้ว

      @RAGNAR I only know her for 'You're My World' which is the only song of hers played in America. I heard it was the biggest seller by a female artist in the UK so I guess I'm not alone.
