Someone knew that Dando would be coming home that day at that time. She hadn't been home for a while and was rarely there. It's someone she worked with, or someone she had a relationship with. I doubt some random stranger is going to be sitting in her garden for weeks waiting for her to arrive home. Someone in plain sight got away with it

Thanks Paul for doing this one, I did request it a few months ago. I met and knew Jill very well from when she was in my home city of Plymouth. I’ve visited Jill’s graveside many a time when I worked in Weston. She was such a shining light with a dynamic smile and personality, a true true professional. Still miss her and I’m sure if she were here you’d still be seeing her on the BBC. Glad you got to see her resting place. As I have already commented in a previous post about caring for Arthur English, I also trained in a hospital in Crawley, West Sussex, and worked alongside Alan Farthing, who was Jill Dandos fiance. He was newly qualified and very quiet and reserved. He went on to become the Royal family's gynaecologist.

    • @mancunianinlondon

Nick Ross was interviewed on her murder in the last few weeks and he is adamant that it was B.G. The gun was amateur and adapted by an amateur and it is possible that an obsessed stalker would actually sit in her garden, day after day, waiting for her to come home. He said that the theories on it being a 'hit' were nonsense. It is possible that he is right. I always thought that it was a 'hit' by someone who knew her movements

A lovely lady who was viciously murdered. I was watching her on this is your life and was stunned to discover that as a baby she had the same doctor as I did Dr Beryl corner when I was a baby. I feel for her husband and her family. May she rest in eternal peace.

Hi Paul, three suggestions for you: George Cole, Dennis Waterman and John Thaw.Waterman starred alongside Cole in Minder, and alongside Thaw in the Sweeney. What puzzles me about Jill Dando's murder is the fact she was killed outside the home she didn't visit very often.

Man I remember so vividly when I heard about this. I’d just heard about it on the radio in my car when I realised I needed fuel. I pulled into a petrol station and as I was queuing to pay I looked over at the magazine rack and Jill Dando was on the front of the latest Radio Times standing in front of a James Bond style Aston Martin. I was already deep in thought over it but to then look over and see her smiling face staring out was a weird moment that I’ve always remembered. It felt so sad coz she looked so happy and was enjoying her life and now it had been snatched away. Just felt crazy and is one of those stories that still crosses my mind a lot. RIP.
