Wow this brings me back... I lost my job as a MECP gold installer years ago because of a Daewoo Nubira. The one I was working on had a direct cable connection to the blend door for the AC. The only way to remove the dash panel was to remove a Phillips head screw that attached the cable system to a nub on the actual blend door flap, which is in a sealed unit that is conveniently BURIED in the dash. Long story short as soon as I tried to loosen the screw the entire mounting boss snapped off, the repair estimate from the shop the customer chose was more than what the car was valued (~$1700). The REALLY bad part is that I came in to help on my DAY OFF so I was basically the real life version of Craig from the movie Friday. I kept that little piece of plastic and still have it to this day. Thanks for the trip down memory lane 🤣🤣
Taught me about antenna wire.. thought it was for power antennas of old days. Now I know why my fm sucks

I have always been a stalwart Pioneer man. Until three weeks ago. I was designing a system for a buddies VW GTI and, after a lot of research, settled on a Kenwood Excelon radio and amp paired with JL speakers and sub.
Wow, what a difference interface software makes! Kenwood makes Pioneer look old in comparison. So long, Pioneer...

went through two of this radio and both remote turn on fail after two weeks. have two amps and remote antenna hooked to it no wire are grounded they just go and I get Lee's then one volt?

I had a Daewoo exactly like that one for about 5 years. It was a great car, never once left us stranded, custom wheels, sound deadening throughout, and a system. Separates front & rear, amps, a 10” sub, and a head unit , sounded great. It had 17k when we got it and 57k when we sold it. Great video Thanks
Love the video man!!! A1!!! Question. I did everything the exact same way but when I'm playing music over Bluetooth, I get a light hissing sound. It'll go away if I turn the volume to zero, but the moment it goes higher, the hissing starts. Any idea what that could be? Any feedback is appreciated, thanks in advance.
So I have this and I have a Samsung galaxy 9 plus. I plug my USB in and nothing happens and I can't mirror better yet I can't even click on the I cons. Do I need a diffrent usb, usb type c cord? I also wanna know do I have to got the a/c c3ac cords to watch videos from my phone to my kenwood or do I just need a diffrent usb- type c charger that has the ability to mirror?

I bought an Acura RDX 08 with the tech package and it was toasted. So I removed al the stuff from factory and went thru the entire system. I mean from the tailgate cam thru the sub woofer all the speakers I mean ALL. Sub amplifier and two more others for rear speakers and front speakers. I bought one DMX4707S head unit I can’t get the Camera to come to screen at reverse gear unless I go settings and pulse the camera icon also can’t connect the metra steering wheel interface to work. I called metra and they have no info on that model. Can you guys help me. Thanks in advance.

What's a great head with GPS for under $1000 that you guys would recommend? I use GPS daily and it's getting frustrating using my phone and having a call comes in and trying to use both at the same time. I will make the 4-hour trip to get it installed by you guys.
they use your phones GPS now, just make sure you get a andriod auto head

Hey guys, I'm considering getting this radio and putting it into a '16 Jeep Wrangler w/ a PAC RP4-CH11. At roughly 16 min in the video you recommended attaching ACC w/ PWR ANT. Would you still recommend doing that if using something like a PAC?

Ive just today got the dmx4707 for my 2006 mustang gt .... !!! It is stage 1 of my rebuild. Stage 2 is kicker 6x8 , x 4 replacement of factory speakers. Stage 3 500w 10in sub . With a 800w amp . , now i do have factory 8in in the doors as well . Those are work fine for now ... but when needed would be replaced with kicker 8in subs

I install the same radio in a 2003 tahoe but the radio takes forever to turn on sometimes doesn't evem turn on but the screen is like gray, any suggestions? Do you think the radio is bad or the wire harness. Thanks

Go into standby. Top left twice, top right twice, top left once ,top right once. May have to do it more then 3 times. But the features are locked out. Because no matter what you do all it says is NG
Not sure if I should laugh or cry. You were somehow able to find the wiring harness for a Daewoo -- a DAEWOO??? How many years has it been since they were even sold in the US? -- yet I can't for the life of me find a 2017 Smart Fortwo. 2020. Grrrr.

I had this unit installed on a Rav4 2011. Everything works perfect except for the mic. The person I call cannot hear me at all or the mic is really low and muffled. What can it be? Should I get another mic and try that?
When hooking up a Kenwood backup camera to this unit can you T into the red auxiliary wire to get your power and T into the black ground wire for ground? Or do you recommend getting power to backup camera by taping into fuse box and grounding out separately. Thanks!

hey i have this same stereo the fuse shorted, the wire problem is fixed but now the screen just keeps flashing on and off and wont ever turn on. I've tried resetting it, unplugging everything and plugging back in, forums, a car audio shop cant find a solution.

I just installed a system! I’m not a noob. I’ve got pretty good understanding of installing a system. The problem is my 4 channel amp is getting overheated and goes into protect mode. I’ve check all my power and ground wires, which they’re all tight and firm! The amp says it does 150 rms at 4 ohms.... all of my speakers are 150 rms at 4 ohms so it matches on the spot. I’ve used an SMD DD1 and CC1 to set everything up. All fuses are still good. EVERYTHING IS BRAND NEW! Any ideas?! How do I check if one of my speakers grounded out?
As far as the speaker grounding out take a multimeter and check both speaker wires to see if they are grounding out and ohm them at the amp

Check continuity on each wire that will tell you if your grounding out or not

Wow the back looks exactly like the back side of those white box Android units, those ISO-DIN plugs are super cheap and easy to get
I just did the JVC mech-less version in my truck. You really can't beat them for a "basic" radio. I did the back up camera and a front camera on the aux video input. They do quite a bit without being overly complicated. Always enjoy watching the from the install bay videos. Keep 'em coming!

That car was uncommon 20 years ago. You are probably more likely to see a Lamborghini than a daewoo.

I have a 2009 Chevy Tahoe with Onstar and Bose speakers I was interested in going with this solely because of the apple carplay. With the parking brake cable is there a way to by pass it with Kenwood's are do I not need to wire it up. I want to make sure I keep my steering controls as well I have the LT model and would love any pointers or help. Thank you
The only way to do correctly is using the correct interface harness adapter

I just bought and installed this unit in my Ford F-150. Everything works great until I start driving. If the truck is moving the unit is off until I stop then it will turn on again. Any ideas as to why this is?

I just recently purchased this and for some reason I can't figure out how to hook up the reverse camera any help?
Not sure if you did it yet or not but I just mine on this model, though I used a wireless reverse light so it may be different. The back portion should just be a negative and a ground. Positive on the positive wire for reverse bulb. Front should be 3 wires, positive, ground and an additional wire. The positive I put on my accessory wire (red) and ground in my ground wires (black) using taps. That would be behind the unit on the harness, on this stereo there is a purple wire that says “reverse” I connected that to the addition wire, which for me was an orange wire. Hope that helps.
I’ve installed multiple of these and the JVC version. They are absolute garbage. Had some of them have software issues/ not playing sound, and the touch sensitivity is TERRIBLE. I do not recommend this radio, especially since it’s $299.
What would you recommend as an alternative?

I just changed out the original head unit on my truck. I learned a lot from you guys. I have two different harnesses. One to run without an amplifier. It is just a plug to the new radio soldered and heat shrank connections to the Metra plug which plugs directly into the vehicle harness, NO CUTTING. I also have a T harness I made for the amplifier I added. There are male and female plugs on all three ends. I ordered a second radio plug and vehicle specific radio plugs. So now, everything is plug and play. If I want to run the radio without the amplifier, I can. If I want to run the radio with the amplifier, I can. All I need to do when swapping out is unplug, then plug in.
Repin the plugs, tesa tape, wire loom. Everything you guys do, I tried to do. I mounted the amplifiers to big cutting boards mounted to the back wall of the truck. Made sure there was good airflow. Thank you for all the advice. Your videos rock!!

I just got the alpine ilx w 650 installed in my 2017 altima.. the place where I got it installed put in a switch to overdrive the stereo? Is that ok or were they just lazy to installed it right?
If it's on yellow black wire....that's poor man's bypass...or maybe lazy that they didn't go to brake wire..I always sell a bypass module tr-7 or something simular.....haven't seen switch for that since the 90s
@@loudelvis610 its the break wire right not the emergency break.. cause the sales man told me I would have to completely stop my car in the middle of the road to operate my stereo properly if they connect the wire to the brake?
@@esepenguin13 yea it's what Alpine calls foot brake....you can get bypass module that does the switching for you every time you turn key on....enter "brake bypass Alpine"...on Amazon..or you can get Pac tr-7 it's a few bucks more ...I'm working on Suburban now with Alpine head unit using tr-7...
