Your comment regarding the touch buttons and driving is spot-on. What I ended up doing is buying an Axxess AXSWC to interface the unit with the steering wheel controls of my car. That addressed the issue of having to look at the unit to see where the finger needed to be (a potential problem when the car is moving) in order to change the volume. In terms of the volume control, it makes sense that no sliding capability would be provided, as if there's a slip of the finger and the volume subsequently jumps up sharply, or somehow goes all the way up, that could cause problems or damage. Holding down the up to increase volume only works to about halfway, then after that each step louder requires its own tap. Going down, there's no restriction. I don't know about the competition, but the unit's sound - in my opinion - is quite nice, and can be adjusted in more ways than I thought possible.
would you reccomend this over the boss BE920WCPA or other models? i hear so much bad things about boss but it seems like when i compare the two the boss beats it in every single stat there is almost, but im leaning towards kenwood because of how much more good things iv heard about them than the boss brands.
Had mine installed today I agree the buttons are not good and I noticed it's slow to react switching for instance maps to say you tube not sure if I'm going to keep this unit or pay a few hundred bucks more an upgrade
I recently changed of phones, and find out after connected to the Bluetooth that issue you mention clock always resets by itself is not more happening. For me is good. For my 2015 Corolla
Does anyone know if the Bluetooth pin can be changed from 0000? I have had people attempt to connect to the head unit via Bluetooth and I am trying to find ways to mitigate that.

No we have not heard of this being an issue with this radio, however, you should check the installation (wiring) that has been done, OR, if there is radio replacement interface being used, this should be checked as well.
Got this installed today at Best Buy. Anyone know why CarPlay is grey but android isnt ? Am I missing an adapter or something. I have iPhone 13 Pro Max and usb connection says my phone isn’t compatible with CarPlay. Any help ?
Make sure it's a valid apple cable as well as what others said, you have to plug in. I had a decent cable that would not work, then switched to an cable that listed apple ready that btw is not an apple brand cable.
I'm using a rear view camera which works when the car is shifted in reverse. But I cannot turn on thw camera manually by the option on the receiver. Neither can I view the camera when trying to set the grid lines. What could be the issue?
Are all of the models compatible with the NAV Smart Video Switcher? Or would that switcher unit be a good addition to this "1 camera input" model stereo?@@LockdownSecurity
i bought this radio for my 2011 buick regal cxl turbo. i have question about it .......yesterday my car wouldnt start so i gotta jump..... crank right up, drove it around for a lil bit then went home. next morning i go outside to start my car n it wouldnt start again. this time i went to O' Reilly's autoparts store to let them check the battery to see if it was bad and WAS. So they swapped out my battery for a new one, but when i cut the car on i had to reset everything on the radio. for some reason the radio has a screen saver that comes on when u dont touch the radio n im trying to get it to stop. need a lil help here
Had this unit installed into my ‘07 Vette a couple years ago. What’s happening now is the steering wheel controls aren’t doing what they’ve been doing up till a few months ago. The volume up button actually now behaves the opposite. The volume goes down. The down volume button now changes the mode, i.e. the unit switches to ‘radio’ if I was listening to Bluetooth. What do you think is happening with it? Is the problem actually within the steering column or is it a setting issue in the unit that I can get to in the ‘user interface?’ Thanks!
Not so sure. Now it’s working normal again. Seems when I give a good press on the volume up button it works. I think it’s all because of worn contacts possibly but thanks for your input.

We agree, the buttons are not not the best set-up on this radio. But then again, non tactile touch buttons are never good on any product.

This happened to me once. I could not get thr radio to turn off and the screen/touch buttons became unresponsive. Had to disconnect my battery

Id go back to best buy and tell them i just had mine installed at best buy and as soon as i plug in phone it automatically connects
You have to plug your phone into the USB cord that comes out the back of the radio.

Your camera needs to be powered by accessory, not the reverse lights, this is the reason the camera only powers on when the vehicle is in reverse.

you must go into the settings menu, specifically DISPLAY settings, and turn DEMO mode off.
Mine is muted and won’t play any sound any tips?
Check the mute wire on the back of the radio or check the overall audio system (speakers or any amplifiers).

You need to reprogram the module you are using to interface with the steering wheel controls.
