The worst part is, the US government LITERALLY fixes the price of cane sugar. There is no reason we could not just make sugar cheaper than HFC and thus destroy the entire justification for them.
Straight up, HFCS is fine. It's no worse for your health than any other natural sweetener because it's just another form of sugar. Cane sugar is not really any healthier than HFCS. Also, when it comes to taste. As I mentioned in my original comment on this video, blind taste tests have been done on Mexican and American coke. Studies have found that the container the coke was in mattered more than whether it was can sugar or HFCS, and when both were in a glass bottle, the American coke had a slight edge. When it comes down to it, perception affects people's tastes more than they want to admit. Many companies have learned this, which is why their marketing seems so weird and heavyhanded sometimes. It's sort of a taste.version of the placebo affect. A lot of Europeans like getting on their high horse about nothing issues when it comes to American foods, when most of the time the American FDA just uses different terminology or has slightly different arbitrary restrictions than the EU does.
@@piranhaplantXI'd argue in this case, it's not a matter of perception, but of the material of the actual container. Plastic absorbs flavor, and let's be honest probably erodes slightly into food and drink contained in it (woo microplastics), so you end up with a less flavorful, more bitter drink.
@@leopardbunny This is true. Coke in plastic bottles actually has an expiry date printed on it. And you can definitely taste it if you buy a bottle from a store or vending machine that hasn't been restocked in a while. There's honestly an 'off' taste even a month before the expiry date.

In my country, The Philippines, the Coca-Cola company here uses cane sugars. After a Supertyphoon struck in our area last December 2021 affected some sugarcane farms in Negros Island which is known as the sugarcane capital in the Phillipines. It makes the prices of sugar went up from 2022 to late 2023 making some production areas of Coca-Cola stopped and prices of Coke rise up. Mexican coke shipped to the USA especially, mostly has high fructose corn syrup in it. They up charge it anyway bc hipsters. This is a pretty recent thing, I forget how recent though. Also high fructose corn syrup has become insanely more common in Mexico. Most Coke in Mexico, at least in big cities, is made with HFCS. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. The bible is no old book. You have to really let Christ open your eyes; to see the world in shambles. Many people say it's a religion to lock up people in chains, and say it's a rule book.. why? Because people hate hearing the truth, it hurts their flesh, it's hurts their pride, it's exposes on what things have they done..people love this world so much, s*x, money, power, women, supercars.. things of this world. Still trying to find something that can fill that emptiness in your heart. You can't find that in this world.. only in Christ, the bible is no chains, it's a chainbreaker. The worst part is, the US government LITERALLY fixes the price of cane sugar. There is no reason we could not just make sugar cheaper than HFC and thus destroy the entire justification for them.
It has to do with the corn coalition and corn being a product grown in large quantities in America.

Ahh yes. America only invented coke. Yes. One hundred percent

Hey man we made functional aircraft first too...
The “what the fuck is this?” At the end killed me
I know what it is: acid reflux in a bottle
It looks like the Polish Fanta I've drank.
I don’t get it, what was the joke there?
@@abcdefzhijlook at the colour of the fanta, in other countries is not that orange.
@@Francisco-mn7gt ah ok
'You can't put real sugar into the only thing it has created?!' got me so offguard 😂
I don't get it
Hey we made buffalo chicken too.
But that's about it

@@tomj1676 he implied that america didn't create any other meaningful thing😅
@@tomj1676 Most American foods are renditions of other cultures foods or straight up copy. Bacon is not even from the USA,it was invented in China centuries ago,you just made it crispy because you couldn't afford thick cuts of meat.
"My first american coke 💀💀💀"
Mexican coke in the glass bottle is amazing. I genuinely love the flavor of it
To everywhere except america, its just coke, lol, it all tastes like that, only you guys get the short end of the stick.
Maybe I’ve been corrupted, since I actually thought the mexican coke tasted weird and preferred the corn syrup 😅
It pretty funny considering domestic Mexican coke is not even the same thing as the imported “Mexican Coke” in the US. There’s is sweetened with sucralose and has way less cane sugar than the one we import. Basically Americans just get the option of corn syrup or cane sugar.
@@calebemerson9317 actually they don’t use cane sugar anymore. It got taxed into oblivion. So they keep the cane sugar on the label but they’re also just using corn syrup. No false advertising laws in Mexico.
@@disqorddoge1101 yeah that’s what I had heard too although I could not really find much on it so I didn’t want to mention it without it actually being true.
That moment when you are so disturbed you forget to speak English and the only thing you can say is "Bitte, was?"
the "bitte was?" was just perfect
Corn is highly subsidized in the US so it is cheaper for producers to use that instead of sugar. That’s why most products that would use sugar otherwise use corn syrup
Here in Indonesia our most common fanta is the strawberry one. It does not taste like any drink that a human can make without a lab. Love it 10/10
Exactly, the grape fanta in Romania is superior and doesn't taste anything like grapes.
Strawberry fanta the one, the only, the ultimate fizzy drink 💪🍓
i didnt like the fanta in indonesia, but i love mogu mogu :D
doesn't taste like strawberry, but surely tastes like the color of red ♥️
I love tangerine coke and it was discontinued here
For people who don't know, Fanta was made in Germany and the Founder of Fanta didn't have correct supplies to make better Fanta because the Nazis had those supplies so the Nazis contacted him to give him the supplies to only make it in Germany. That's why he was saying not to make any Nazi jokes. (Sorry for the paragraph lmao)
everyone knows that and it's a comment made a million times here already....cause everyone knows that.
@@Psilocybin77I didn’t. I was scrolling looking for an explanation.
Thank you so much. I was so confused

Nah ain’t no way he just said “High fructose corn syrup is healthier” 😭
Americans will believe a lot of whack shit corporations say
Frrrr👁👄👁
Literally same thought, it is literally the most damning unhealthy thing ever approved by the FDA to be a sweetener. Maybe not in the terms of how fast it will kill you as we have some cancerous chemical sweeteners but the fact that it has been added to just about everything for so long it is destroying America's health and probably one of the top dietary causes of obesity in the country.
its the cool aid that most americans drink
Not significantly.
the way he asked “okay und why is that fancy?” was so german. i love how incredibly well he intones in a german way while still speaking [mostly] english
