I'm trying to add a deck to an old v bottom style boat. I'm told that it will not be stable with a deck. So my question is are there any conversions you couldn't do?
I've been looking into purchasing a Jon boat recently and I would like to make the entire boat one big casting deck with a trolling motor on the back. Will the higher elevation of the deck have any effect on the stability of the boat?
Hey Mike when you carpet your utilidecks do you use one piece or several pieces of carpet? I trying to do it but make sure the cuts and folds look good. Do you have any ideas? Also do you have standard specs for your decks or do they chabge from boat to boat?
WOW Dude....absolutely fantastic job!!!! It's obvious you put a ton of hours on your boat!! Its also clear your very serious and passionate about fishing. I've tried similar jobs over the years but don't have the knowledge, time and place to do anything close to your boats! I would have a lot more money to spend on tackle and not boat payments half my life. Congrats bro, you should be very proud of your new boat!!

What material are you using for the underside of your hatches. I saw you used the auto sun protector is that just the underside of that or something else?
I just purchased a brand new alumacraft 1648 I was the majority of my boat as desking and I was wondering if the best support system for all the deck space was angled aluminum or 1/2 inch ply wood. What would you use

Great work, wish i still had my 12footer. Back then I used tinboats.net for ideas You have definitely brought diy boat building a long way in such short time. I gave in and picked up a ranger a couple years ago but stayed with aluminum series.

How do you reinforce the plywood? using 1/2" seems like the move to save weight, even if you need to add more support.

The one I've had my eye on is a 14 ft long and I believe 4 ft wide, will that be suitable for what I'm trying to do?

With a bigger boat (18 ft+) do you recommend a welded or riveted hull? I hear welds are bad about cracking unless you get a ranger.

You should do a video on running electronics and connecting them to a switch plate
