  • I found this Admiral AED4675YQ1 dryer on the curb on trash day. I runs and blows cold air, but it's really noisy and there's no heat. We'll troubleshoot the no heat issue, replace the heating element, thermal fuses, and thermostats with a new kit, and we'll also show how to clean and repair the timer switch without having to buy a new one. We'll also replace the tub bearings, belt, and belt tensioner to solve the noise issue.

i had to smile to myself, i used to servicing Whirlpool apliances here in Swizerland for 2 decades and i ran over the same triangular clips and rollerbearings when repairing Dryers😊 although i cleaned the shafts with a lil acetone from the old crude an then put some lithium grease on it

I work where those are built. Usually the thermo hi/lo limit, fuse on wiring harness, and switch is the only difference in those. The badge on the outside is only change. That door switch is first thing we check in repair bay. Jam a needle nose pliers in each side them hit the button. You really can't go wrong with them old ones. Easy to fix. The powder coat on that bulk head turning blue happens on all of them too. Should be thicker so it doesn't do that. As someone who breaks those down sometimes you did a good job.

@@TheGuitologist I'm a firm believer in a wood stove. Top raises up so we can cook on it if the juice goes out in an ice storm. I've got a good generator to run moms oxygen machine if needed but I need a bigger one for the deep freezer.

I have a Samsung dryer. Heater went out after 6 months. It was the temperature cutoff sensor. I ordered a new part and fixed it. Well, over the last few years, I have had to replace the sensor 3 times. Then, the heating element broke. Ordered a new on. I always dry on medium heat now. So far, so good. At least I know what parts to order when it breaks again.

Geeze ..really not much to a modern dryer...but they cost up the wazoo to buy new. The hard part can be finding parts for some of them....at least some are built to be serviceable. Good job Cheers!

That's why I say I'm going to be keeping this dryer. It's easy to work on. Should last forever.

I tried fixing my dryer 3 times. It had the round heat element on the back, with the round pan, and I even bought a brand new coil and pan for it, and it still burned out on me. Also replaced the belt, thermostat, etc… DONE! Couldn’t trust it anymore. The thing was sparking, then the heating element became separated. Fridgidaire. Gave up!

Gidday Brad! Mate, I didn't see you fix or replace the lint filter! That may be why there was so much fluff, lint, hair & shit in the machine! So it may cake up the gubbins again?
I thought the paint had largely flaked off from inside the bottom of the cabinet, but no, it was MORE crap! Definitely do something with that lint filter mate, unless I've got that wrong! Any way of knowing how old the machine is?
Obviously the laundry room is pretty echoey, but, well, it still sounded pretty noisy even after you fixed it! The 'rattley' noise had gone though.
What sort of 'bearing' does it have to hold the front of the barrel in position? Maybe that was dodgey too? It just sounded way noisier than the dryers I've had experience with.
What were the purple wires for that measured 7k? You said you were gonna go back to them but never did. Was that the high resistance contacts you were measuring before you cleaned them?
Good job you got the machine going after all that mate but I'm still not 100% confident you've fixed it for the duration sorry! Don't lose that circuit diagram or the spare parts!
