First time was June 7th 1984 Frankfurt Germany. 700 people at the show up on the 2nd floor of an old concert hall. The floor of the building was moving. Mosh pit and open floor. Sweaty, rough, hardcore metal. Never saw girls at the shows back then because it was all aggression. The people were crowded in so tight you could pick up your feet and not go anywhere. The shows in the states were different. Long Beach and Rose Bowl shows had seats and crowd control because the crowds started getting bigger.
I've never seen this one before. This really goes way back. Metallica when their sound was raw. My first experience with Metallica is just when Ride the Lightning had come out.
Because of my dad i grew up with 70s music so beegees kc and the sunshine band A few classic rock bands led zeppelin boston blue oyster cult etc. One day im in my brothers car and Sad But True came on and it was the heaviest chunkiest thing id ever heard since then metal was my genre i was 5 6 years old singing along as hard as i could now metallica is still my number 1 band always will be
Saw them in 1989 at the NBC arena in Hawaii. Massive fan since 1983 but never thought they would come to Hawaii. It sold out so fast I was lucky to get literal last seats in the back row for me and 4 friends. If you watch all of Seattle 89 that is what we saw that night . I can not stress how much energy they put into the show .. it was full blast perfection. Best concert ever 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
The first time I heard them was around 1985. I was like 15! The first song I heard was seek and destroy. I remember where I was and what I was doing. So strange that I remember that. I was blown away and hooked instantly. Back then it took awhile for metal music to get around. They weren’t on “normal” radio anywhere. It was all word of mouth and magazines. I first saw them live in 86 less than a year before cliff passed away. They were opening for ozzy in my small town. I’m 54 now and still a very loyal Metallica fan. I’ve seen them at least half a dozen times over the years live. They never disappoint. The last time was in 2018 where I got to take my two sons and 4 nephews to their first Metallica concert! It was my greatest mom/aunt moment ever! My youngest son was almost 18 at the time and we are a lot alike. It was a blast. He literally bounced up and down the whole way to the car screaming “you’re the best fucking mom ever” very proud moment. We screamed every song all night long!!! We had nose bleed seats but we didn’t care! They are amazing live!
Their live performances are always so insane to watch. In my opinion this shows how good you are. The first album Kill 'm all is the raw, agressive Metallica in their first years. Top for me are The four horseman, Hit the lights, Wiplash, Seek & Destroy and of the bonustrscks Am I evil. Still big fan of them. Love your way of explaining what you feel about the songs, right to the point. And my God, look at their babyfaces in this performance, so young.
Whiplash is their debut "thrash hymn" :) Lots of bands has songs like that. Like an "explanatory song" about the new gerne and the band. Needless to say, but you have to watch the Seatle 89 performance :)
Seen em live 30+ times. Their shows were second to none. My first show was 1991 in Oakland, CA; show included Soundgarden, Faith No More, and Queensryche. Look them up online - they are broadcasting their upcoming to movie theatres live. Since they're not coming near us, we are going to go to the theatre in August to see it.

December '88, Bufallo, NY, "And Justice...For All" tour. Queensryche was the opener (touring for their Operation Mindcrime release). I was a high school kid and it was one of the greatest shows/memories ever.

I stand can't todays music, it's too digitised, auto tune for singers is basically cheating and being deceptive, and way too many "artists" depend on sampling from other artists music.
it's fun to see them giving it their all to a small club. there might have only been 50 people in the audience, but they were playing like their futures depended on it.
I saw Metallica at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento California during their “Ride the Lightning” tour. Armored Saint opened the concert up. Metallica was 2nd and Y&T Headlined I still have all my concert tickets I’ve ever went to. And I’m 57 now.

I saw them in the live in the mid 90s in Helsinki when they were already starting to be a bit over the hill (damaged voice, lost key members and they were unsuccessfully experimenting with more mellow styles), but they were still quite amazing live. So sad I wasn't turned into a metalhead until about the time Metallica Black came out, so I sadly missed the best part of their career Metallica pre-1991 was/is just so amazing!
Finally! 😎 Wow, Kirk was on FIRE for this gig. I was introduced to them by the And Justice For All tape in '89 by a coworker who told me "Hey, you're getting into harder metal these days right? Check these guys out, I have a feeling you'll dig 'em." And he wasn't wrong. As with Slayer the month before then, I was blown away. I went through their discography in reverse order, and this album and Ride The Lightning ended up being the top 2 for me. Whiplash is among my favorite tracks: pure thrash with hints of their future refinement into speedmetal, and simply killer lyrics "We'll never stop, we'll never quit, cuz we're Metallica!" 🤘
I saw them in '94 in Houston, outdoors in August so it was hot as fuck but worth it. Their Kill em All/Ride the Lightning medley was definitely my favorite part of the set. Alice in Chains was supposed to co-headline but they had to withdraw due to Layne having a relapse (sadly not his first nor his last).

Saw Metallica in 1986 on Master of puppets tour opening for Ozzy on ultimate sin tour. Got to the colliseum 4 hours before start of the show. After about two hours Metallica showed up in a taxi and talked with my friend and I for over an hour, they thought it was awesome that we got there so early. They offered us back stage passes and to party at a night club after the show, we declined because we had school the next day and weren't older enough to drink, Hetfield then said " that's Cool stay in school", we all laughed. They weren't much older than us but were really down to earth and gave us autographs guitar picks and drumsticks . Lars didn't say much but the others were quite talkative, Cliff was the friendliest, since my friend was a bass player and I played tuba. They were also impressed by the 100 plus miles we traveled to see their show. Those were really good times.
The instrumental you speak of it the end of Anasthesia ( Pulling Teeth), which you did in an earlier video. They lead into each other on the album too. Anyhow, my first Metallica experience was on the And Justice For All tour in Binghamton, NY.

I was 16 in 1996 when i saw my first MetallicA show performed in Gothenburg, Scandinavium and after that it has been 2004, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2023 All shows have been in Sweden Gothenburg except 2007, 2009, Stockholm, Sweden 2018 was in Oslo Norway and a second show in 2019 was in Berlin Germany and next Friday/Sunday im looking forward to my 10th and 11th MetallicA show and many more to come as long as they are performing i will go see them whenever i have opportunity to do so Take a chance Lilly and go see them at least once Second show in 2009 was scheduled but canceled do to James got sick, they did reschedule and came back later next year to do the show but i sold my ticket
My first live experience with Metallica was Monsters of Rock '88 at the Orange Bowl. They absolutely stole the show. After that tour, the entire metal world knew who they were. A few months later, ... And Justice For All came out and it was world domination from then on!
Whiplash is a great way to continue the live versions its a staple of almost all the shows they do. and somehow they just keep playing it harder and faster.. if you got time as a reaction or just for yourself you should check some of your favourite songs and just watch it live you will see how different they get played and always for the better

I will finally see them in 2024 in Warsaw, Poland. When I was little, around 5 (now I'm 27), my brother was listening to them all the time. However I never listened to them alone, but it accidentally changed few years ago when I was driving and my friend found my brother's cd in the car. It was Master of Puppets :D
First song I heard was "Ride the Lightning". I wasn't ready for it at the time! But once I heard Master of Puppets I was in! A local band from my area (Maniac at the time later Wargasm) opened for them here & there. Mostly in Boston. Look them up! Wargasm.
Lots of people can play MetallicA songs and do the solo's. Look up JJ's One Girl Band, she covers a ton of there songs, and looks like she is having a ton of fun doing it. Being the biggest Metal band, its no surprise people cover their songs, As Kirk Hammett once said " To imitate is to create " taken from a video called Justice on Wheels way back in 89, which also happens to be the 1st time I saw them. Blackend was what they open the show with, and being that close to the stacks, you could feel it vibrate in you ..... I was 14 and loved it, and have seen them multiple time since than.

Creeping death is one of my favorites. For heavy ones it's hard. Disposable Heroes, Battery, Blackened.

I saw them in '94 in Houston, outdoors in August so it was hot as fuck but worth it. Their Kill em All/Ride the Lightning medley was definitely my favorite part of the set. Alice in Chains was supposed to co-headline but they had to withdraw due to Layne having a relapse (sadly not his first nor his last).

Saw Metallica in 1986 on Master of puppets tour opening for Ozzy on ultimate sin tour. Got to the colliseum 4 hours before start of the show. After about two hours Metallica showed up in a taxi and talked with my friend and I for over an hour, they thought it was awesome that we got there so early. They offered us back stage passes and to party at a night club after the show, we declined because we had school the next day and weren't older enough to drink, Hetfield then said " that's Cool stay in school", we all laughed. They weren't much older than us but were really down to earth and gave us autographs guitar picks and drumsticks . Lars didn't say much but the others were quite talkative, Cliff was the friendliest, since my friend was a bass player and I played tuba. They were also impressed by the 100 plus miles we traveled to see their show. Those were really good times.

First time seeing them live was opening for Ozzy right after they released Master of Puppets. Seen them for Damaged Justice Tour, Black Album (3 times), Death Magnetic Tour, and most recently, 2 nights at the Welcome to Rockville Festival in 2021.
First time I saw them was master of puppets tour and they opened for Ozzy in 86.
I was 16 in 1996 when i saw my first MetallicA show performed in Gothenburg, Scandinavium and after that it has been 2004, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2023
All shows have been in Sweden Gothenburg except 2007, 2009, Stockholm, Sweden 2018 was in Oslo Norway and a second show in 2019 was in Berlin Germany and next Friday/Sunday im looking forward to my 10th and 11th MetallicA show and many more to come as long as they are performing i will go see them whenever i have opportunity to do so

Second show in 2009 was scheduled but canceled do to James got sick, they did reschedule and came back later next year to do the show but i sold my ticket

My first live experience with Metallica was Monsters of Rock '88 at the Orange Bowl. They absolutely stole the show. After that tour, the entire metal world knew who they were. A few months later, ... And Justice For All came out and it was world domination from then on!

Whiplash is a great way to continue the live versions its a staple of almost all the shows they do. and somehow they just keep playing it harder and faster.. if you got time as a reaction or just for yourself you should check some of your favourite songs and just watch it live you will see how different they get played and always for the better

You might not believe this. But before seeing them, in '89, I think I had only heard a radio ad for a previous tour! Because there was no radio format for that.
I will finally see them in 2024 in Warsaw, Poland. When I was little, around 5 (now I'm 27), my brother was listening to them all the time. However I never listened to them alone, but it accidentally changed few years ago when I was driving and my friend found my brother's cd in the car. It was Master of Puppets :D
First song I heard was "Ride the Lightning". I wasn't ready for it at the time! But once I heard Master of Puppets I was in! A local band from my area (Maniac at the time later Wargasm) opened for them here & there. Mostly in Boston. Look them up! Wargasm.
Lots of people can play MetallicA songs and do the solo's. Look up JJ's One Girl Band, she covers a ton of there songs, and looks like she is having a ton of fun doing it.
Being the biggest Metal band, its no surprise people cover their songs, As Kirk Hammett once said " To imitate is to create " taken from a video called Justice on Wheels way back in 89, which also happens to be the 1st time I saw them. Blackend was what they open the show with, and being that close to the stacks, you could feel it vibrate in you ..... I was 14 and loved it, and have seen them multiple time since than.
saw them on MASTERS tour only a few months after the bus accident in a 3000 seat arena w/METAL CHURCH opening-still one of the best shows i ve seen (should def react to some earlier METAL CHURCH)

The first time I saw them live was on the "Justice" tour.
My mind was blown both times.
"Kill'em 'All" is still my favorite Metallica album.

My first Metallica experience... i was riding in my step brothers el camino in 1986 and i heard leper mesiah. I was 11 and i loved it. Next time i was at a store with mom i asked if i could buy a tape and she agreed. They had ride the lightning so i bought it for like 8 bucks. I'm a life long fan.
