    The Mazda Miata is one of the most fun cars you can buy for the money, regardless of what price that Miata is at. So if you are looking to spend $5k on a fun to drive sports car...the NB Miata is an AMAZING choice. I love these things, nimble and small, a great car to throw around corners, the only complaint I have is that I barely fit in the car. Check out this ownership interveiw of a NB Mazda Miata with some moderate mods!

    Its funny hearing so many young enthusiasts say "You can use all the power all the time". I began driving in the early ninties when nothing had much power. My first car was a 1986 Accord with 98 hp and most of my friends had similar rides. You could literally drive with your foot to the floor 100% of the time when accelerating in about every situation. 142 hp in that little Miata would have been a rocket for me back then...lol.

    After restoring 69 Mach l w428 ,4 speed,drag pac,etc I found them “limited” in actual fun. I gave up on street riding motorcycles because of crazy drivers and found a 2001 Miata SE in really great condition to experiment with. I LOVE IT ! Pure fun every time I start it up. I did a fair amount of time at drag strip and stock car racing and find this Miata to be much more honest FUN! Miata Is Always The Answer ( MIATA)

    "When you tune german cars, they tend to not take it very well" My experience with my MKV GTI was very much the opposite. Something like 100K miles on a stage 1 APR tune, and never did that car ever skip a beat. I also did not 'baby' that car. ~80K miles into the tune (~180K odometer miles. Yes, I got it tuned at ~100K miles), I took an impromptu trip on a three day weekend from NY to Florida and back, to escape the winter a bit... The car was a champ!
    Also, I go to BJS all the time and LOAD UP my miata. What "minor grocery shopping" are these guys talking about?

    • @samuelmcpherson6972
      @samuelmcpherson6972 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Couldn’t agree more. German cars love being tuned and take it very well. Perhaps it was the tune, mixed with shitty American fuel, not the original manufacturer.

    • @FragEightyfive
      @FragEightyfive 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You get what you pay for (with tuning). My MKIV has 130k, 100k chipped, 3" Turboback. Only had emissions issues when the flex pipe portion of the down pipe started rusting. Everyone I knew that got the cheapest parts had nothing but issues.

    I live in the UK and I've got a euphonic edition with Limited slip diff it's a 2004 with only 80k on the clock... I bought it for less than 2k and it's a superb little thing, I'm just gonna keep it and hopefully in a few years it will be worth a lot more, they don't make cars like this anymore, even the new miatas have too much tech and heavy folding electric roofs. It's just such a simple recipe and a purists kind of car.

    Just got back from a snowy mountain drive and I will tell you it's lightness helps some in braking but it's so light it doesn't cut through the slop and floats on top.
    Kinda squirrelly especially without the LSD.
    Could not put ski boots on in the driver's seat.
    Can fit skiis in the passenger seat.
    Have better snow vehicles but must drive the Miata.
    It's like skiing while you are driving or is it driving while you're skiing?

    “When you tune German cars they tend to not take it very well.”
    Dumb, uneducated comment.
    2008 Audi A4 got to 133,700 miles before I sold it, APR Stage 2+ since 25,000. No out of the ordinary issues.

    The dude drives an i8. He's gay. GT350 my ass. GT350 is actually a kit car just like the Miata ANYWAY. Coyote engines aren't that sweet. Not when PowerNation makes more from Junkyards. PowerNation. They need a Miata BTW. i8 driver is homosexual. And asian.
