I have watched at least 10 videos on the Recover 20/20 including a lot of unboxing and a lot of range time demos, but yours is the first one that answers my questions about the mundane things like having a ring to attach a HK style snap hook sling and how everything lines up inside the brace. I was sad to learn there is only 1 base for the slide cocking extensions. I figured I was going to be able to put the high one on the braced gun and use the low one on my carry pistol... Oh well. It's not meant to be a freebie anyway. The shooting demo was actually very useful too. People might say it looked boringly easy to hit your target but that's the whole point of this setup IMHO. It makes 15 yard shots which normally would take some skill with a regular pistol to being able to hit consistently at speed into a boring pull the trigger exercise with a braced pistol. The ease and consistency this brace gives you to hit your target alone makes it worth the $100 asking price.
Mid October they are coming out with a rail that attaches to the right side then goes up over the barrel at a 45 degree angle where another rail is parallel with the top of the slide. This allows a more heads up position and use of a micro red dot not mounted to the gun. The hex key for the stabilizer brace and rail attachment wrench both can be tucked in under the Velcro strap at the back of the brace retained by the O ring to retain the strap. Neither fell out during shooting for me. And allow the gun to placed or removed in well under a minute. Maybe half with forethought and practice. I painted one OD green and took paint without weakening it. I also took a Dremel and lowered where the ejection port was. Not sure why it obstructs it some but it does. I had no problems at the range but the new rail I mentioned appears to go over the port as well some and I anticipate no problem but being a machinist for 22 years I couldn’t leave it alone. And once again the little bit I removed did not weaken it and performed perfectly. They are supposed to come out with one for the larger I guess frames like G21 but I couldn’t wait and after once again Dremeling out some material inside the brace where the brace would capture the rail on the gun it allowed the complete closing of the brace in the front and insertion of the screw without binding the slide and leaving a gap on the braces rail part so accessories could still be utilized. Took five to ten minutes of careful removal and fitting. Once again worked perfectly as the gun is still sandwiched with pressure on the frame sides. And the gun is still captured in front by the trigger guard and in the back beaver tail. Put a FAB industries hand stop which by the way utilizes the same Allen wrench as the rails so win win. But that does slow the removal or insertion process some. The gun is still operable with the brace folded which is a plus and can still be shot as usual. I’m very excited pleased and satisfied with this accessory. And I’m sure you will be too.
Can you explain how you put the wrenches in the strap a little more detailed? I am trying to visualize it in my head. Worse comes to worse, I'll just put them in a small pouch and dangle it off the brace if I have to but your way sounds way better.
@@FlyingTigersKMT Gladly Looking at your brace from the back. Roll down the O ring. I put the larger wrench for assembly on the right where it is concave. By holding the wrench/key like a 7 place the bottom down into the O ring and inside the Velcro strap. You kinda have to lift the strap a little and put the shorter leg under the strap Do the same on the left with the smaller wrench. Roll up the O ring about half way. It’s odd at first but that friction fit helps keep it in place. I did a couple shooting sessions with different guns like 9 and 45 and never lost a wrench.
I bought one. It works so well I bought 2 more. As you saw it really gets you on target and keeps you there. Almost boringly. They sell a bungee that works real well. It is adjustable and keeps it close to the body till needed.
Can one remove the slide for cleaning with the brace completely assembled on the gun or would one have to remove the pistol from the brace and the slide charging extension? Appreciate any feedback-John in Texas
Nothing that I noticed. Recoil is mild being 9mm. Also, sine it is a brace and not a stock, you do not pull it into your shoulder to control recoil. It is just meant to provide additional support.
I like the Roni platform as well. It is the same idea but a totally different execution of it. The nice thing about the Recover 20/20 is that it is an affordable option that still performs well.
@@CraigsGunChannel Thanks for letting me know. Looks like it comes out with one screw anyway, so I'm guessing that removing it from the brace can just be part of cleaning after the range, sound about right?
Great video. I have been trying to find a specific dimension. What is the length from the end of the brace (shouldering) to front of the pistol grip (hand) ?
The distance from the back of the brace to the front of the handgrip at the point the trigger guard meets the grip is just over 13 inches. From the end of brace to rear of trigger guard opening is 13 and 3/8ths inches.
While I do not have a FMK to be able to confirm, I would have to say that it will likely not work. It is my understanding that the FMK frame has slightly different dimensions, so it would likely not be secure.
The way it attaches will allow any of the standard backstraps to be attached, however the ones that extend the "beavertail" up will not work, as the brace utilizes that section to attach to the rear of the pistol.
Great review sir, thank you!👍 I also like the Flux, but the Recover Tactical 2020 price point hands down wins. Easy to install and easy to use, not to mention the awesome accessories. Flux is awesome as well but it’s a bit out of reach for some folks, but nonetheless cooler. SIDE NOTE, the bungee sling is also very useful, please watch attached video.🙏 th-cam.com/video/07c8RSMMPr0/w-d-xo.html
Maybe it's the time to come out of the closet and get a Glock, lol? I've heard that they gonna make 20/20 for M&P and P320 by the end of this year. So, if you get lucky and BATF will not ban these creatures at the time, like they banned bump stocks and other things before, then you might have your lovely Sd9ve braced.
I agree, however they are working on some other platforms from what I have heard so you never know what may come next. It makes sense for them to start with Glock being such a popular platform but the design is a simple one, so I would think they could adapt it to a large variety of other makes. As long as braces remain legal I would expect to see more offerings from them soon.
hahaha no wonder ATF is pissed at manufacture able to by pass the law legally and then everybody uses it for shouldering. nobody needs a sbr tax stamp anymore.

Very good point, to be able to reliably engage your target is the idea behind these devices.

I plan to get one for my G26 to extend it from a ccw to a more distance capable weapon if needed.
Thanks for the video, is it needs a tax stamp to own and operate this Recover 20/20 ?
No tax stamp is needed in the United States as this is a pistol brace. At least not yet anyway... Thanks for watching and for the question.
Great video. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately, no, the pistol must be removed from the brace to remove the slide. The "side rails" of the brace cover the takedown levers.
I never liked the roni kits due to their look..this I had to get for my 19x with a 33 round and a stream light
I have found that of most all I have tried this one is near the top for me as well.
@@CraigsGunChannel What at the top of your list in 24? Thanks in advance...
Great video! I like this option since I have a Holosun.
Good video thank you for the info. Thumbs up ~John
Thank you and thanks for watching and commenting.
How much
does it hurt your neck or collarbone to shoot?
Nothing that I noticed. Recoil is mild being 9mm. Also, sine it is a brace and not a stock, you do not pull it into your shoulder to control recoil. It is just meant to provide additional support.
That s definitely another option for my g17, right now it rides in a micro roni with the short sb tactical brace

Roni
Do you find that the brace mars up the frame of the Glock installed in it?
I haven't noticed that yet, however with continued use I am sure it will, especially if any dirt or grit makes its way in between.
@@CraigsGunChannel Thanks for letting me know. Looks like it comes out with one screw anyway, so I'm guessing that removing it from the brace can just be part of cleaning after the range, sound about right?
Does the holster cover the trigger completely? I can't seem to find any info on that.
For the most part it does, from a finger perspective. I could see where a small object (brush, sticks etc) could get by however.
อยากให้ทำสำหรับ cz75d compact p-01 ด้วยครับ
What was the distance you where shooting at?
We were shooting at 15 yards.

LoP (Length of Pull) according to Fifty% is 12.25" or thereabouts.
Will a fmk fit this

Thank for the info
how far was the target

How flimsy is the “brace” shoulder pad? Really not gonna buy one if it’s just a thin piece of plastic not as wide as a buttstock
Hello, it is not as wide as a stock nor as solid. Braces are intended to provide more support but they are nowhere near as solid as a stock would be.
I had my doubts too. But I now own three. Surprisingly stiff. But doesn’t feel brittle.
One of the best reviews.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
glock 19 gen 5 good jobs
Better lighting great video not to much talking
what would fit my glock 25
Unfortunately, from what I have been able to find it does not look like it would.
Will it fit brace with med back strap?
The way it attaches will allow any of the standard backstraps to be attached, however the ones that extend the "beavertail" up will not work, as the brace utilizes that section to attach to the rear of the pistol.
Polymer80 frames ?!
The original will not work on the P80, however they have recently created a version specifically for the P80 which is scheduled to be released soon.

I am reviewing the FLUX in tonights video. I essentially would agree with you. The price on the FLUX system is a major detriment to it.
Well heck, my Glocks are big chunks of plastic too.
To bad they don’t make it for a S&W Sd9ve.
