3:06 are we not going to talk about how this generic roman soldier not only climbed Kronos, but also somehow managed to reach the temple grounds? And it looked like he also died recently (his still had relatively normal eyes when that vulture plucked one out). He had the makings of the next hero of legend had he not died.

you havent played the game? there are many other warriors that have actually reached very deep inside the temple, in one of the doors you must use one of the warriors that was trapped as a sort of payment to open a door
There's a meta context too: that soldier's design was one of the first designs for Kratos before they moved away from having him wear full armor. It's why Kratos gives the soldier such a meaningful 'Hmmm, that could've been me' look when he climbs up.

People arguing how it took how 3 days to climb the temple, where the narrator probably included that only for the more dramatic approach to the whole journey towards Pandora.
This was a different game in tone and approach of its plot than the sequels, a bit more mystical and more true to some of its original Greek mythology stories.

@@thebatman68 No it's because he's legitimately weak in comparison to God of War III Kratos. Being tortured doesn't make these guys weaker. Deimos was chained up and tortured by Thanatos but was still able to beat Kratos' face to a bloody mess (he let him do it but still it's an impressive feat). Hell you can even see him trying to crush Kratos but Kratos easily knocks his hand back.

At the time that Kratos was climbing all over Cronos/Cronus/Kronos in order to get to Pandora's Temple for three days, he was still a standard Demigod, and the location happens to be a desert that would have eventually ripped the former Great Titan's flesh through the blistering sands. Also, they weren't expecting the game to be a success to the point of sequels.
God of War 3:
Kratos's clash with Cronos was at the time when the Ghost of Sparta was in full power (due to the Blade of Olympus and indirectly being as callous as the gods he had served); the temple was "worn down" because the game designers need to make the fight seem manageable.

The first time I saw this scene was in 2017 I guess, so the game was a bit old then, I was about 13 years old and was curious about this game, when this scene happened, I was astonished by everything, the temple, Kronos' size, the music, and the fact that later, when Kratos stands on the walls of the temple you can see Kronos crawling through the desert. I've been a GOW fan ever since

Ascedia there was few games with good grapics aswell back then. Crysis still look good and half life used to have good grapics and still does compared yo god of war games or gta's etc. But old games was more fun to play. Today games 70% of them are so annoying you have to do the same missions 1000 times, like mafia 3 etc.

I just want to point out that if it took Kratos 3 days to climb the temple then Cronos in the first GOW is several kilometers in height. He is not even standing and he's almost as tall as the temple. I guess in GOW3 they had to reduce his size in order to make the fight even make sense. Also Ares the first time we see him he's taller than mountains so that'd make him a few kilometers tall too but then his size is reduced too. Cronos was such a monster.

The whole series did an amazing job with depicting some of the massive beings that Kratos fought and interacted with along the way. The size of Cronos, Jörmungandr introduction and the way it speaks, the way Hercules looks so tall and imposing right before they fight were so well done I can't think of any other way to do it.
God of war 2018 and ragnarok had nothing on gow 3 in terms of depicting large beinga

The model for Jörmungandr is objectively larger than Cronos. Ragnarok and Hraesvelgr were also colossal, although I'm not sure how they compare to Cronos.

Omar Huda except normally prequels refers to something that was released after but chronologically its events come before. This is more like Ascension than games that came out in chronological and release order. What the original comment actually should have probably said is “previous titles” or maybe just “series”. Definitely not sequels, but prequels wouldn’t have felt right either

Clearly, Gaia is referring to the Temple here because of its massive and elaborate nature, not Cronos. Cronos couldn't give a fuck who went after Pandora's Box hence he responded to the horn. In fact, one may argue that Cronos (and the Titans, in general) has everything to gain by letting a warrior climb up the Temple in search of Pandora's box given that should said warrior acquire the power to kill a God, the Titans' ambition to see a world without the Gods may be realised.
