I paid in USD and it was in cash and it was at the airport when we landed so visa on arrival. That’s for UK passport holders and I think USA and Canada and Australia and other European countries. They did give me change too. It costed 77 USD

@@erikrudolph5769 very safe trust me. Of course there’s things like check points etc but that’s the case for any foreigner and any size group. I would suggest flying into Baghdad as there you can get the Federal Iraq Visa costing $75 which lets you visit all of Iraq including Erbil. The visa you get when you land in Erbil only covers the Kurdistan region of Iraq and whilst you can try get a Federal Iraq visa there, it will maybe be a longer process and more complicated. If you’re concerned about safety issues etc, I suggest you join the group on Facebook called ‘Iraqi Travellers Cafe’. I posted questions on there a lot to get help for me trip. I know several women who travelled solo and one has written an article which I heavily relied on.
