Vincent, nice video but you have to remember that to be suggested again by others to your channel you have to actually demonstrate a tutorial. Your tutorial was good but you forgot to actually display how to install the latches and how they lock or even how many bolts and nuts you need or other items when installing it. It might sound like vague info or demonstration since it's probably simple, but there are many out there that need that actual info which I believe makes the total views of your video and main theme and purpose of your video in the first place. My thoughts thanks
Curious about what rear seal were you guys using. I have a forbidden USA mugen style hardtop, the rear seal came with the hardtop doesn't fit perfect and left about 1/4'' gap at the middle rear.
We used the Forbidden rear seal. I own this car now and while I didn't have a gap in the rear, the seal makes a lot of annoying squeaks. I experimented with other seal options to quiet down the noise and I have one that might help fill up your gap. I will try to edit the video and get it posted sooner for ya.
1. Why not buy a coupe to start with? 2. Did you remove the old fabric hood to save weight too? 3. When open/closing the door why don't the electric windows raise up/down a few mm to enter/exit the seals? Is pressing up against the rubber like that enough for a water tight seal?
the plastic piece with the brushes...did they attach right back no problem? I heard you have to buy a different piece so it fits with the upgraded side latches. Is that true? thank you! great video
The stock front latches make quite a bit of noise so I am switching them fixed. The top would squeak on the rear seal. Applying grease would only quiet it temporarily. I have since added some weather stripping in there (video coming soon) to quiet it down. Wind noise is not too bad and other than light swirls, the window is holding up.
***** just up to preference. I would say if its torn, just go ahead and remove it for lighter weight, but if you like to drive a lot with the top down it would be best to replace it incase of rain.
Wind noise is reduced but rain drops are louder since they are hitting a harder surface than the vinyl softop and there is no insulation or sound deadoning on the top.
+Quinn Kizis I have the factory Htop and use a simple hoist to lower or remove and store the top as needed, which eliminates the need for two people. Agree allows retention of the soft top which remains down, of course, when the top is installed. Mine rattles and squeaks a little on rough roads. Car is louder inside when the top is installed.
+Peter Yeezy As in do you have to remove your soft top to have a hardtop? No, it fits within the hardtop space. If youre asking if the installation is permanent, then that is also not the case. you can remove at will. Even more so with those quick detach brackets in the video.
Is your cameraman having a seizure? Geez he is the worst. The cameraman can't focus on any of the things you're talking about, you guys don't zoom in to show a detailed view or even bother to take the time to focus on the specific step you're explaining and it just jumps from one cut to another. Not the best install video

Thank you for the feedback, I highlighted the important parts. The latches are very self explanatory which is why I didn't talk about it.
I would add in for you guys +Quinn Kizis, that to use OEM seals. Much better quality in comparison to anything from RSG or Forbidden, etc.

Garage Quinn Motor thank you! I had the squeaking sound initially then I tried WD 40 and shin etsu grease, both works good.

Being that it's carbon fiber, is it a bit louder interior noise?? Or when it rains do you hear the drops a lot more??

Yes, the wind noise is reduced, but not completely eliminated. The top does quiet the interior a little.
dose the forbbiden rear latches allow you to still use the softop or dose it intefier with the joints when putting the softtop back up
