    Quick help for those who can't find this online; the name of it is " Cell weatherstrip MW11425 ". O-Cell-O from what was said was the spanish written on the package :P

    Checking in after installing the extra seal exactly how the video suggested. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. My fiancé hated sitting in my s2k with my forbidden Mugen hardtop because of the creaking. But after this the creaks are practically gone (assuming your front latches are secured tightly and not rattling). Thanks for the vid.

    I got one from autozone, but the sticky side wasn't sticky enough to fold into the shape you have. Wish it is 3m.

    100% doing this. My top drives me crazy sometimes. Especially a long day at work.

    I got a OE hardtop on mine which doesnt make too much noise yet. I think most of the noise comes from the latches up front.

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The OEM top seals are better quality than the aftermarket ones. I originally ran my softop latches up front and they rattled quiet a bit. The fixed latches took care of that.

    I stuck soft velcro to the sides only. The corner of the hardtop rubs. It's the carbon fiber rubbing on the car. Didn't need the whole strip, maybe just a foot on each side. No noise whatsoever.

    Another quality video. Short, to the point but still filled with so much useful information. Love the mugen hardtop.

    I already stuck the seal on the roof that came with it, can I leave that on plus this method?

    Hey man, maybe a silly question - what is that panel/cover called that sits where the soft top used to be? I bought an AP2 with a hard top and the soft top removed, but behind the seats its just carpeting. Thanks!

      Elie Baliss I believe you’re talking about the under roof panels/covers

    Thanks for the video. I'm running a forbidden and I learned to live with the squeaks. I'm running a bicycle tube just as you mentioned ahah but I'll try this when I have time. Great quality videos keep it up please!

      Thanks Andrew. Let me know how it works out for you compared to the bicycle tube :)

    Any tips on getting rid of wind noise up front at highway speeds around 70+ mph?

  • @mistaanime
    @mistaanime 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    i used truck camper mounting tape from home depot.under 10. does the job.

  • @RichBuilt
    @RichBuilt 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice! I used this window seal to quite the OE latches up front. Can you provide the product data for the aluminum fixed latches?

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I ran Ballade front brackets merely because they came black powdercoated and are more subtle then ones in raw aluminum or other colors. They are all the same for the most part otherwise though.

    I still got noise due to wind or cabin pressure lifting rear of the hardtop when going 80+mph.

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are your rear latches adjustable? I really cranked mine down.

    Same treatments to your miatas? My mx5 top is driving me nuts.

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Miata tops actually don't make as much noise oddly enough.

    • @Maxx8666
      @Maxx8666 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be because my top is ~10 years older than the car, dont really know. Anyways, I followed your advice and placed some closed cell foam onto the hardtop seal and it worked! So happy with it.

      Unfortunately I bought it in store. Most of your typical auto parts stores have sections with weatherstripping.

      Fair enough fella, thanx for coming up with a solution, I will be doing this on my oem top but I mite stick it to the bottom of the hardtop? Not sure yet?

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There should already be a seal on your OEM top there that you would have to remove if you wanted to install this on the top. My top has a seal on it as well. I am running this in conjunction with that seal.

  • @therealshins

    whats the spelling on the weather stripping brand?

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      El Sello, however I am having a hard time finding it online now. I wonder if it is discontinued. I will do a blog post on www.garagequinn.com with the details of it, picture of the packaging and the dimensions so worst case you can buy a different brand.
