@@FRS2K it also a helped a lot when putting the top on too. I have no squeaks or wind noise as well. I added a little Silicone grease to the rubber on the windshield side just in case.
My forbidden top leaks at the rear center area and over bumps it moves up and down enough that you can see light come thru. It's so bad I only used it for a month when I bought it 2 yrs ago and I've never used it again. Any advice? Is this an issue that can be helped with adding weather stripping or is about lack of clamping force from the street brackets. What would you advise?
We’ve autocrossed with it multiple times and it does move a little bit afterwards but it just takes loosening everything up and tightening it back down. The weather stripping should def help. We’ve driven it in the rain and everything and haven’t had hardly any issues with it so far.
I used the seal they provide with the hardtop but added a foam weather strip so it wouldn’t creak. You can use anything that will keep the top from rubbing on the factory trim.
@@FRS2K yea it was the added one I was asking about because I want to try that. I looked at Home Depot’s site and they had two kinds. Foam and and rubber.
Hello! Unfortunately with the street brackets, the soft top is not able to be raised. I would get 2 piece (quick release) brackets to maintain functionality of the soft top. They’re kinda expensive but worth it I’d assume. I deleted the soft top so I never got around to buying them.
Yeah I agree. I think they should because anybody that gets an aftermarket top they have the same issue. They should all include thicker seals but it’s not the end of the world. A couple bucks at a hardware store and it was fixed.
Great review and summary of what to do thank you very much. It has helped a lot for me in my hardtop search.
That’s awesome! Thank you for watching. Glad it helped!

A lot of people will add the grease to them to help it out. It’s a good way to reduce the noise.
seen your 2k in town today 👌🏼🔥 would love to cruise with it with my prelude
Anytime!
Get trunk stoppers - they have them on the CR.

@@FRS2K thanks so much for the reply. I'll give the weather stripping a try.
@@statusquoreject good luck! Hope you figure it out!
If I had your wingspan, I would be dunking on people all day long! I wish I could grab my hardtop like that.
Asian men can't jump lmao! Being 6'4" has it's perks. Not sure why I end up buying such tiny cars 😅😅
Do you know the part number of your roll cage?
I bought this off of a friend. It was custom made but I believe it was designed after the spoon roll bar. It’s also similar to the Cusco 4 point.
What seals are those on the window outline?
They are the seals that came with the hardtop from Forbidden

Did you use the foam weather seal or epdm rubber kind?

what exhaust do you have? Thanks btw, just got my top today!
Hks hi power single exit with a Tomei test pipe. Congrats on the new top! Nothing makes a s2000 look better than a hardtop.
Hi! If you want to raise the soft top, do you have to remove the brackets, or can they stay there permanently?

@@FRS2K so i bought an s2k with a hardtop and those brackets is that the reason why the soft top doesnt go up all the way anymore? lol
If Forbidden just included a thicker weather seal to begin with, you wouldn't have to add the additional stripping on the rim of the cars base seal.
