  • These suspension upgrades allow us to take our B+ down some challenging tracks to some beautiful places away from paved roads while we zig zag our way down the Pan American Highway.
If you have AWD be sure to talk with the manufacture of you lift kit to be sure it and any other changes you make to your suspension will not bond the front CV joints on full wheel drop.
Some of the components we upgraded to:
TOPO 2.0 FRONT AND REAR LIFT KIT - TRANSIT (2013-PRESENT, SINGLE OR DUAL REAR WHEEL) BY VAN COMPASS

Very much appreciate this information. I want/need to get most of this done. I need the lift and need the ability to carry max weight while off road. I need to find a place to get this done here in southeastern U.S.

do more research on rear springs you should not have lift blocks or super springs you need better arched sprigs and better weight ratings the factory springs for a 1 ton are not made to carry as much as you are carrying you need to upgrade to better springs and bump stops pleas do more research

Hmmm…. Maybe I was not clear enough in the video. We do not exceed the factory GAWR for either the front HD suspension nor the rear axel. I have weighed the front and rear of my rig independently at CAT scales in the US to make sure the load is balanced. My upgrades were designed to safely maximize my load carrying capacity, make it more durable for off-road driving and lift the body.

Thank you for your insight, very appreciated. It seems that some, no matter how old they are in years, still haven’t learned humility. Some opinions, like noses, do stink🤥 As they say, different strokes. It seems that no matter how helpful one tries to be, there is always someone who thinks they know better and can’t keep it to themselves. Thanks for sharing. Please continue. Have fun🍻

Are you using stock Ford (Motorcraft) strut bearing, which I believe is plastic? Or are there some options for upgraded strut bearing (and mount)?

what leveler system did you use - Equalizer? Bigfoot?

We have the Equalizer. No issues since having it installed nearly three years ago.

Is the mud & rut setting pretty good off road?

All due respect to LTV (fantastic company) but why are you tethering yourself to an LTV build? You can't possibly put enough lipstick on that pig to make it overlanding worthy. Get past the superficial suspension upgrades - LTV has TERRIBLE lithium and solar options. Also has black tanks - absurd for overlanding. Transit is a nice platform - move out of the B-Box LTV and get a real overlanding rig.

All due respect but I believe you might be young and under the impression that true overlanders must endure measures of discomfort in order to be considered authentic. There are no prizes for discomfort in overlanding. We also get to pretty much wherever we want off-road, driving “low and slow”. Two nights ago we were up a single track dirt road in the Andes at the snow line for two nights (very cold at night). Glad we had our thermostat controlled LP furnace and heat pump so we had options to stay warm while streaming a movie before bed using our Starlink dish. We are now 2-1/2 years and 15 countries into our journey; and currently in Argentina. Yes, LTV has terrible dc power systems, hence our Victron & solar system and MeanWell 110/220v 50/60 hz aux charger. As for black tanks it seems you may have missed my video on our composting toilet. Our extensively upgraded LTV has exceeded my expectations and we’re super happy with it and exceedingly comfortable in it.

@@BPlusOverlanding - 61 years young and I DO want all the comforts of home. Everything you mentioned in your post is available in a classic van build, Transit or Sprinter. With enough battery, solar and water to go an entire week off grid - WITH the air conditioner running and no propane. I like LTV for highway pavement only. Trying to modify an LTV for what you call "overlanding" is an exercise in futility.

Took my stock 21 T-350 HR DRW down Long Canyon (under the big iconic rock) and up to hurrah pass in Moab. Will use your tire size when it is time to change tires!

Thank you, another great video! Along with improving the ride and stability did these upgrades increase your cargo carrying capacity?

    • @BPlusOverlanding
      @BPlusOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Not legally - the manufacturer’s GVWR can not be changed. However, the upgrades I made to suspension and tire weight capacity, along with me never towing the 2,000 lbs that the rear hitch is rated for (preserving brake capacity) seems to provide a nice cushion of 900+ lbs beyond the GVWR (if someone dared)😉

@@BPlusOverlanding Hello again. To update you I finally took possession of my 2023 WFTB AWD. She has exceeded my expectations. It looks like you added vent covers. Are you happy with how the stock fans have functioned or would you recommend upgrading to the 7500 maxxair deluxe fan? I would appreciate your advice. Thank you!

Hey thanks for the video. We are considering the Agile Overland RIP Kit for our Unity 2021 CB. Have you heard of this one. PS I see you allow your front wheels off the ground when levelling. I didn’t think was a good thing to do.
