Fullmetal Asian give it time, after all Futurama refused to do time travel at first, and apparently that was the first thing they established, no time travel.
and yet in the first episode the main character is cryogenically frozen and technically "travels" forward in time further than any other person could due to lifespan
Captain Slender if we’re going to think like that then we’re all time traveling at 1s/s. That wasn’t time travel, that was a plot point to get him to the future. Time travel generally has to be instantly traveling from one time to another, or at least faster than 1s/s.
Wipeout325 Except that we won't live to the year 3000. I don't think time travel is determined by speed. If I froze my self and programmed it to wake me in the year 2525 and you traveled to the same spot and time instantly we would both be there at the same time(technically I'd be there faster as I would already be there before you arrive) the time that passes between our journeys would be different though. Point is although it's not traditional time travel it has the same effect. You arrive in the same state as you left(as in the case of fry) to a different point in time. To be fair you can't do that method backwards but I'd say at the very least it's half time travel then
She's been in so much stuff. She was female Shepard in mass effect. She was also June in avatar the last airbender. She's Ashe in overwatch, she's Leah in Diablo 3, she's been Samus Aran, she was Jun'ko Zane in Freelancer. And a million other roles.
Whether she is a clone or not is kinda moot as R&M have already bailed on their 'home' dimension at least twice so to Morty at least she is already _a_ Beth, a perfect clone of Beth is just as much his mother as the last one (or two) were.
If he had been there since he was 6... he wouldn’t have had any “seed” to plant in the locals until he was at least 10 or 11. So he went at least 4 to 5 years without any offspring to eat.
So the whole Beth situation is intentionally left vague and unanswered. The creators said they wanted viewers to think what they wanted, whether Beth left a clone behind or whether she's still there.
That interspecies-incest cannibalism turned my fkn stomach. Also, given that boys start producing semen and sperm around 10 - 12 and the fact that Beth had Summer at 17, Summer currently being 17 herself means Beth is 34, and Tommy had to have been there for roughly 22 - 24 years.
There was honey ( where Beth push Tomy into) so was there any other types of eatable things there like fruits or candy, was the water normal water or flavor. Rick left his daughter there for long time I would bet like a day care center for Beth alone so there must had been snacks or some food there.
Blackman Whitesuit The King Jellybean stuff was disturbing and disgusting as well (probably the second most messed up episode overall just after this episode imo) but he didn't actually succeed in raping Morty. It was implied that he did rape other kids but it was never explicitly stated. This episode here didn't hold anything back in that regard.
Beth has a point about having Rick making those gadgets as a way to spend time with her. Although, Rick has a point about Beth being disturbed considering the type of gadgets she asked for.
I agree with Rick here. A little girl who wants to have a sentient switch blade that loves stabbing and a taser ladybug would probably not be best for the neighborhood and Froopyland seems like a good idea even if they aren’t a troubled kid that place would be awesome to go to (before the incest stuff)
Great reaction guys, will be sad when this season is over. FYI - Breathable liquid is still highly experimental, and as far as I know hasn't been done to any healthy humans. They tried it on mice a couple of decades ago and they died. The problem is ventilation - our lungs can't take the stress of constantly expelling and "inhaling" fresh liquid to keep the oxygenation of the liquid at the correct level. Regardless, David Blaine definitely didn't do this.
Werner van Alphen I heard CIA or whatever uses it for torture. They "drown" people in it and dont tell that the liquid is actually breathable. They eventually have to breathe the liquid in, which is incredibly frightening and apparently painful when you come back into normal air. Thats when they pull you out, give you few seconds and push you back in. Tortured cant die, only out of shock, and they crack eventually, after like 2-3 repetition if they dont figure it out.
I actually believe there's a scene in a movie that does this that you can watch. I think it's the movie Abyss? where they have the rat in the water and starts breathing after being scared of drowning.
David Blaine tested liquid breathing with perflubron, which is a liquid made almost entirely of oxygen. He stopped researching this after he said it felt like an elephant was stepping on his chest when breathing in. For his 17 minute breath hold, he breathed pure oxygen for 23 minutes before he got in the tank to get rid of CO2 that would waste space in his bloodstream. He achieved 17 minutes and 4 seconds with this method and for a few months was the world record holder in oxygen assisted underwater breath holding. His previous attempt on live TV to breath without any oxygen assistance was before the oxygen assisted breath hold, where he reached around 7:30 seconds. This was close to the record but he ultimately didn’t succeed due to TV networks wanting something more than just breathing, so he got out of handcuffs during the record attempt. It is speculated now though that he can hold his breath up to 9 minutes, still a very valid time although not the record. In summary, he never used liquid breathing for his records, but attempted it. Both of his record attempts were completely legitimate with no magic or fake trickery at all.
Tommy was either 14 or 15 when he got lost in froopy land, most likely 14. I did a little mental math and since Beth was either 17 or 18 when she got pregnant with summer(who is 17) Beth is either 34 or 35 and since the father was convicted what i believe to be 20 years ago Beth was either 14 or 15 when she took Tommy to froopy land.
The first one was mind blowing to me for some reason. even better after knowing that it's all improvised. the second one wasn't as good, but just knowing that it was improvised for some reason makes me like it no matter how dumb it might be.
Wait until you've seen the final episode, but after that Game Theory has a video about whether Beth is or is not a clone. That could be an interesting reaction once the season has finished.
That liquid Calvin is talking about is perfluorohexane. David Blane didn't use that for the stunt. I read that he tried it out by filling a sink with the stuff but it was like "trying to breathe with an elephant on my chest". For the stunt I think it was just extreme practice and breathing pure oxygen right beforehand.
They did do time travel in the pilot. Morty broke his leg, Rick left, came back only 3 seconds later and said that he went to a future dimension and that he stayed there so long that his portal gun ran out of charge. 1 of 3 things must have happened. Either . . . 1: He didn't time travel but went to a dimension that was so advanced he called it a "future" dimension which would mean that in only 3 seconds Rick went in to this new dimension, bought anti-broken leg serum at the drug store, discovered that they had cured aging, became a celeberty, met with and had a lot of fun with a lot of ladies, then came back to Morty (talk about a one pump chump). That would also mean that the portal gun was going to run out of charge in only a few seconds regardless; meaning Rick took off on an adventure to hunt down a rare fruit on another world while bringing only a couple minutes worth of charge. That would be like Amelia Earhart taking off for her trip across the Atlantic and only bringing a ounce of fuel . . . I doubt it. 2: He didn't time travel and simply went to an advanced dimension like in case 1 and it did take a long time. In that case he would've left Morty alone in that dangerous dimension screaming in agony and unable to move, due to his broken leg, for days, weeks, months, etc. (while Rick was getting the broken leg serum, becoming a celebrity, meeting and having a lot of fun with a lot of ladies, etc.) and they simply made it seem like he was gone for only a few seconds (and Morty was lucky enough to not be eaten by some of the monsters from which they were previously running nor to die from dehydration, heat stroke, etc.). If so, Rick is a far bigger asshole than I thought and has no regard for Morty's life. Also, Morty sure didn't act like Rick was gone for a long time. 3: He time traveled to a "future dimension", got the broken leg antidote, met and had fun with a lot of ladies, then came back to Morty's time/dimension but had spent so much time there that his portal gun was low for, though only 3 seconds or so passed for Morty, weeks had passed for Rick (basic time travel consequences). Without thinking much about it they made the pilot (a good one at that) and only afterwards did they decide that they didn't want to mess around with time travel.
A reasonable way for that to happen in our universe is for the planet they were on to be near an incredibly massive source of gravity, such as a black hole, which would cause time on that world to move much slower than normal. In this scenario, once Morty breaks his legs Rick would portal to a world where time moves normally, grab the broken leg serum, have his fun, then teleport back after a few weeks. Since time would be moving much faster on the normal world than the one Morty is on it would be weeks or months for Rick but only seconds for Morty. The problem with this is that if that was the case then due to the amount of time we see them on that world, when they got back to Earth everyone they know would be either dead or, at best, ridiculously old. Since we see that not only is everyone still alive and young but also that they get back during Morty's lunch period on the same day we know that is not the case. On Earth time is moving at essentially the maximum speed so Rick could not have gone to a world in our universe where time is moving so fast that weeks there are seconds on Earth. For what you say to be true Rick would've had to portal to an entirely different universe with entirely different physics. Space-time would have to be completely different than our universe (making Rick an idiot for going there expecting to live). Isn't creating a universe with entirely different physics / space-time just so you can time travel (as it is still a form of time travel, just not the more glamorous backwards time-travel everybody loves so much) more convoluted than just simple time travel? Seeing they want to avoid time travel because it complicates things wouldn't that make it worse? Plus, it opens up a bunch of complex and messy questions. Would that broken leg serum work seeing it is from a universe with entirely different space-time. Could it exist? Would it fall apart the moment it enters our space-time. Would it kill Morty or simply not work. Time is an important factor when it comes to medicine. If the dose is released or absorbed quickly the patient may die. If it happens slowly it could be ineffective. Would the matter from that universe change when it entered our universe or would it stay the same? Etc? While I do admit that it is possible, I find it far more convoluted and thus unlikely (though, it would still be a form of time travel. It would be like a person traveling at 99.9999% the speed of light for 3 days and coming back to find their twin 6 years older than them). I think they probably just didn't think about it too much at that stage (especially seeing how the show started . . . the youtube video and whatnot) and once they actually got a show they began to think about what they wanted it to be long term, what wanted to avoid, etc. At that stage I believe they just wanted to make a cool pilot so they could get signed. These are people that did Pickle Rick. Note: I am *not* a physicist so I may very well get some physics wrong. I did have to take some in college to study chemistry which means I know just enough non-chemistry physics to sound like I know what I'm talking about when really . . . ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ P.S. Sorry for being long-winded.
I definitely think it’s hereditary, and I think that’s what’s going on with the evil (now president) Morty on the Citidale. All these Rick’s in all these universes a few of these relatives are going to inherit his genius, but what they do with that is up to them.
The virtual world and it's corruption reminds me a lot of a similar world in the Blood and Wine expansion of The Witcher 3. I know Justin is a big gamer so wondering if he got the idea from that.
Rick seems to be way past caring about stuff like that. I mean, Beth probably thinks he would because she doesn't know that he's not even from her dimension, or whatever.
The entire community says that Beth took the trip so she could turn into the brass she sees rick as, a man that can solve everything by himself. It also has the most story arks that leave the fans wanting more. Who wouldn't love to see a smart ass beth and Rick fight, or see then just talk and have a lot in common.
12:25 - Geez ... you really thought breathable water was still theoretical? Watch the movie "The Abyss" (1989). _The Abyss also features a scene with a rat submerged in and breathing fluorocarbon liquid, filmed in real life_
Calvin fact check......Not how Blaine held his breath for 17 minutes. But he did experiment with an oxygenated liquid that was not water, but found it easier to hold his breath.
Meh, south park did the same almost 2 decades ago lol It is just as messed up and one of the creators had his daughter voice Ike ever since she could barely speak
i think im the only one out there with this theory. i think jerry is going to turn out to be a super villain and the way they pay homage to 80s and 90s movies in every episode will come into play because i think they are going to use the biggest one of all. star wars! jerry is going to say to morty I AM YOUR FATHER. its perfect cuz they make a point to ALWAYS make jerry the victim and weak in every situation and hes constantly saying im a good guy.. watch i bet you
They complaining about Interdimensional Cable every episode Me: Whut, I love that shit! I mean, yea the second one wasn't too funny but the first one is just sooo good, I still laugh about it every time I see it. Justin Roiland improvising is everything lmao
I honestly never hated them, but then I actually kinda love them now that I know that they're almost completely improvised while drunk. For some reason, learning that something is improvised makes it that much more entertaining and impressive. I still liked the Morty's mind blowers a bit more though. In fact that episode was one of my favorites. It just left a smile on my face even after it was over.
The abstractions of school and religion somewhere amid this. A capital for the food farce unquestioned would play out quite dramatically till it doesnt.
I think it was making fun of those sappy montages where they play sappy music, except in this, the music means nothing, and the sappy montage is pretty messed up. growing a man that you murdered from a finger that you sliced off. I loved it though. This episode wasn't my favorite, but that song was definitely a laugh out loud moment.
Suddenly Jerry’s perception of Beth as a horrific Xenomorph Spider Queen makes a hell of a lot more sense.

That's not true, they even have foreshadowing of the time travel to come in the very first episode with Nibbler's shadow.

people go through puberty at some weird times so i wouldn't say its not possible for him to have been able to have bestiality sex with the animals
wasn't that just procedural generated honey? or do those have nutrients too? I'm so lost.
regardless of if it was highly oxygenated to be breathable is not a concern so much as the fact the consistency would probably choke you

That episode had no bestiality, incest and cannibalism.

Beth being a clone or not literally doesn't matter. That's the whole point.
Rick seems to be way past caring about stuff like that. I mean, Beth probably thinks he would because she doesn't know that he's not even from her dimension, or whatever.
"We'll tell you when you're older" :d
Guys, the Westworld trailer just dropped. Please react to it!
Sorry,I know I'm annoying but I'm just hyped.
NO WAY YOU GUYS ARE DRINKING IRN BRU! THE DRINK OF MY PEOPLE
Wait, I thought that drink was banned in America..?
I hope you guys make fun of "what does she have 2 of" forever
Fruipyland reminds me of Nilbog from the Worm Novel
Thomas Middleditch guest voiced tommy and is that iron bru? If it is, well played!!
Calvins beard reminds me of the Pointy Haired Boss's hair from Dilbert.
6:13 did Rick just say "Certified fresh"?
Out of everything that happened in this video I’m most interested in the fact that Irn Bru is sold in America, since when did that happen?
The entire community says that Beth took the trip so she could turn into the brass she sees rick as, a man that can solve everything by himself. It also has the most story arks that leave the fans wanting more. Who wouldn't love to see a smart ass beth and Rick fight, or see then just talk and have a lot in common.

Aaron: We don't really know...
Me: ummm... yeah we do. it's exactly how you just performed that math problem 30 seconds ago!
There is no fucking breathable water 😭😭😭
Calvin drinking the national drink of Scotland
Adam Kelly Ethanol?
Liquid haggis?
Beth's job makes a little more sense now...
Hey guys, the Star Wars "SOLO" trailer is here ;)
Great reaction!
Inter dimensional cable 2 was good
😂The looks on your faces!!
3:29 Paul's reference over there
Liquid Breathing: You guys obviously don't remember the James Cameron movie The Abyss.
Liquid oxygen is definitely a thing.
I love the dude on the lefts shirt+reactions, never fails to disappoint!
4:00 we tell you when you're older lol
Where did you guys get IrnBru? That shit is the lifeblood of Scots
I couldn't be more happy that you're drinking Irn Bru...
Also, Calvin's drinking Irn-Bru! They have Irn-Bru in the US?!
MoonStar we don't, no :(
You guys now have to watch the film theorists videos on rick and morty
Whats more disturbing the plot of insets cannibalism or that the show had an actual kid voice the lines in the play.
Meh, south park did the same almost 2 decades ago lol It is just as messed up and one of the creators had his daughter voice Ike ever since she could barely speak
It's like Erics friends doesnt get most of the shit and he has to explain fucking everything to them.
Why would Rick not have made things for Beth to eat in fruppy land?
i think im the only one out there with this theory. i think jerry is going to turn out to be a super villain and the way they pay homage to 80s and 90s movies in every episode will come into play because i think they are going to use the biggest one of all. star wars! jerry is going to say to morty I AM YOUR FATHER. its perfect cuz they make a point to ALWAYS make jerry the victim and weak in every situation and hes constantly saying im a good guy.. watch i bet you
The fact that you didn't react... is the fact I'm not gonna watch your videos.... just keep writing your reactions🤣🤣
Why dose the chalk looks so familiar
Calvins wrong david Blaine really held his breath for 17 minutes, thats not impossible with training. The world record is 26 minutes
They complaining about Interdimensional Cable every episode
Me: Whut, I love that shit!
It just left a smile on my face even after it was over.
the human body has everything the human body needs to survive
IRN BRU !!!!
The abstractions of school and religion somewhere amid this. A capital for the food farce unquestioned would play out quite dramatically till it doesnt.
You guys should react to 'A Slap On Titan' it's an attack on titan abridged like dbz abridged but by different people! I think it's good :)
That's my favorite abridged!
Is he drinking irn bru? i didnt think you guys could get that there.
The song Dan Harmon sings...
Amazing lyrics ^_^
I think it was making fun of those sappy montages where they play sappy music, except in this, the music means nothing, and the sappy montage is pretty messed up. growing a man that you murdered from a finger that you sliced off. I loved it though. This episode wasn't my favorite, but that song was definitely a laugh out loud moment.
Chalk Zone was an amazing show. Yet no one sees the reference, was I the only one that watched it?
