    This 1AAuto video helped me put this new part in my car effectively (Buick Custom LeSabre 2005). Be warned though, the video shows an older Buick pre-2003. In the "newer" Buicks like mine, the whole engine is about 6 inches further into the car frame.
    This means I had to buy a 3/8" swivel for my ratchet set in order to reach the O2 Sensor with a tool. It is doable on the newer Buicks, you just need an extra piece. Swivels can be bought at a typical hardware store for around $15.

      I know it’s been a while but if anyone’s curious about how to do this without a swivel, attach your socket with the wrench on (I used a 3/8) angle it so the handle is sticking out left, wrap a small rope around the handle and pull backwards while holding down the ratchet. I heard it pop and I could unscrew it with my hand

    In a 2002 lasabre theres more of a angle and the metal and heater core tube is in the way you have to have the exact right extension boy do they make it look easy

    Thanks for this video guys. It helps me. I bought your O2 Sensor listed at 1AAuto and looks to be the right part. The sockets you have posted to the description do not have the cut away needed to take off the O2 Sensor though right?

    Does this take 5 mins?
    I have an 03 buick lesabre most likely has the original o2 sensors in it.
    Do you have any pointers on getting it out? I need to replace both o2 sensors and the cat intermidate pipe and muffler?
    Any tips are helpfull,,,

      You could try to spray a little penetrating oil on them such as PB Blaster. It may make it a little easier to remove them. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

    I want to do this repair for my daughter's 1997 Firebird that we want to sell. The diagnostic tester indicated the heater 02, Bank 1 Sensor 1. I'm wondering how do I know which sensor should be changed.

      HI Don, It should be the upstream sensor (before the catalytic converter). Here's a link to the O2 sensors that we carry on our website for her Firebird if you need one. We offer FREE SHIPPING on all orders in the lower 48 states. Hope this helps you out. www.1aauto.com/1A/oxygen-sensors/Pontiac/Firebird/-/-/1997?VideoReply&TH-cam&ATony

    Could you just cut the old wire on the broken sensor so you can just use a normal socket since the old sensor is trash?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for watching. Yes you can cut the wire then use a Deep socket. That trick is useful if the sensor is seized because you can use a 6 point socket and it will have a stronger grab on the sensor.
