    Installs camera in the toilet saying it is to capture when this bird turns up - is one conversation you don't want to be doing in public - but you managed to pull it off. 🤣

    I use Motion Eye to watch my dog and my apartment while I'm away. I have set up writing to Google drive. In case of theft, the recording will always be there. Another thing was overclock the RPi 4 to 2147MHz. I'm shooting 30 frames 1024x768 and it looks very good.

      How does it detect motion without a pir camera? Doesnt the camera need to run 24/7 to detect motion - which requires lots of power?

  • @112Famine
    @112Famine 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    This would be perfect for car security, using the battery pack so it would be charging while you drive. If you used 2 Sony Night Vision 180 degree cameras mounted back to back, would give a 360 degree field of view when parked, or driving.
    And with MotionEye installed, you can have it alert you when hooligans are screwing with your car while parked (if you connected to your house wi-fi), & while driving you'll be able to show who was at fault if you end up in a fender bender.
    With your 3d printer you could redesign your cars reading/map light, or the dome light to house the battery pack, Pi, & the cameras.

    Good deed done nicely. And a happy ending.
    As an aside, my Official Pi camera V2 stopped working the second time I used it in anger. As a year had passed since I bought it, it was out of warranty. The only time I have felt shortchanged by RP foundation. All will be forgiven with the Pi 5 (or Pi 500) 😉

    The reason you couldn’t download the file was it was still recording. When there is a red border around the frame of the video playback, it means it’s recording. With the settings you had, any slight movement in frame due to wind will keep the pi recording. Only when it’s stopped can you download the video recorded. Experiment with the settings when you can 👍
    I always use my pi zero on a power bank, live video is awful (very low frames), but anything that is recorded is awesome at 30fps.

    • @-someone-.
      @-someone-. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, there’s really no need to download the saved clips unless you’re gonna edit & upload it somewhere. Playback via the web browser is 100% perfect for checking, viewing playback. @leepspvideo

      What resolution do you record at?

    • @-someone-.
      @-someone-. 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@BilderbergCEO 1280/720 or lower. You actually get a wider field of view (FOV) with lower settings, meaning I can see more when at 480, or 720 rather than 1080 which just seems to zoom in on the FOV. And 1080 uses way too much CPU.
      I’m now using a pi4b as the “main” device which streams 4 pi’s. (I just go to the pi address of that pi in a browser and have 4 cams to monitor😅)
      3 running motion eye and the other just using RTSP coz it’s not compatible in the drop down menu. The pi4b doesn’t use more than 1gb of ram, but when it streams all 4 cams it gets really hot and CPU is close to 100%. I have the ice cooler tower, so it doesn’t get hotter than 40celcius

But since what my neighbours do is illegal, I don't care about their privacy rights. And then I will find an independent widness to go to the press against. But first I have to find when and what my neighours to and what time. And I hope Motion eye with Raspberry Pi will help me in doing so.😀

    • @cjlowe1650
      @cjlowe1650 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you liked my reply. You really don't know how long and how many bad installs I had to go thru before I came to your video. Since I tested it for 2 days with a CSI Pi camera I attached a USB camera. Probably 5 years and so far it runs like a charm. So now on a zero 2 W I'm actually running 2 cameras, thru WiFi, although I have a Ethernet adapter which I tested but since most of the Pi Zero models are not near a ethernet cable I wanted to test the distance. So far running on 2.4 WiFi 2 rooms away if works great. (Will try 5Ghz later on) As for another issue is the email notification supposed to send a image attachment? If not do you know how to do that. Also I setup a special gmail account for this so I don't junk up my normal account. I also setup a DROPBOX for it but I can't find any detailed instructions for sending the files to the Dropbox. I do a test, it says it works but I must be missing something. So any info on DROPBOX setup would be great. What I don't understand is I don't see a login space to enter on Motioneye for my DROPBOX account name so I'm not really sure what I'm doing. Maybe the Authorization key is what determines my account info. Any help from you or anyone else would be appreciated. Also I've been watching your videos for years and maybe commented here and there but I'm sure others and myself appreciate the heavy lifting you do for the rest of us. All the best and any help with DROPBOX would be appreciated.

    Hi, nice video first of all but could not resolve the issue where the console just keeps saying configuring wired network: no device panic: rebooting in 10 seconds(caused by network). I dont want to connect via ethernet but through wifi itself, would be really happy if you can help me out
    A bit more specifications:
    Im using the pi zero 2 w
    It says a few things in the console and few after the message and few before above but restarts again and again after a few second
    The first time i tried it, it restarted after 10 seconds, then after rebooting it started after 20, after taking out the sd card and checking everything and starting it, it restarted after 30 second, so like it adds 10 seconds after every time it restarts, just told if it could be useful or worth noting.|
    Thanks!
