Yup, he highlights a ton of “minor” details that a casual observer would never notice as they’re impacting the game. It hasn’t personally made me watch more baseball, but I could definitely see it encouraging more people to watch as they understand what is happening better. Without baseball knowledge, it can seem like the only action is the pitcher/hitter and even that just seems random,

I just wanted to say I love breakdowns like this. Great for showing my older kids the intricacies of baseball. Even just the little things in this vid like showing where the double play would have been help make it easier for them to understand. I dig the fight breakdowns and the weird play breakdowns, but I would watch an entire playlist of ones like this with my kids just to help them learn the little things.
I've said this so many times: I'd love to have a team that hits singles and doubles and knows how to run the bases. HRs are great, but if you want to keep the defense on edge, have a guy a 2nd.
The long ball is a rally killer. Pitchers would rather give up a solo tape measure shot than having to struggle through a stressful mess out of the stretch to keep more than one or two from crossing the dish.
Fact of the matter is you need power to catch up to elite fastballs and that's the direction pitchers are trending in. Gotta be able to catch up to those while also ready to take what's given. Not an easy task but yeah gotta be able to catch up to triple digits these days.
As someone who doesn't watch baseball every day (or ever..), I LOVE this content! I love the mind games of high level athletes but am not familiar enough with the game to appreciate it without a breakdown like this. It's really something to see though! Honestly, I didn't enjoy baseball at all before finding your channel like 2 weeks ago; been binging your stuff and it has really helped me to see the beauty of this game! Thanks so much for sharing and please keep it coming!!
Home runs are good too but I hate watching a team swing them selves out of their shoes trying to hit a homer when they haven't hit shit all game. Even in the playoffs teams get lazy and just wait for HRs to score.
Hearing you fully breakdown baseball slang made me realize how efficient talking about the game has become and how impossible it would be to understand with no background knowledge. Well done Jomboy.
One of my absolute favorite breakdowns. More like this, please. Sports announcing seems aimed at a casual fan who does not really understand the game and, crucially, doesn't really want to learn much more about it. Your audience is different. We may not know much, but we come to your channel to learn. This is what sets you apart from the highlight reel dudes. So good! Keep it coming! Go Halos! Go Hops!
That is so true about baseball announcers, or really just sports announcers in general. They assume you know nothing about the sport and they keep you there. No attempt to educate the viewers on the finer points of the game.
It’s nice to see an emphasis on moving runners and not waiting for a double or homer to move runners. That’s what makes baseball so situationally unique. Every situation has options
I was at that second game with my son. AS soon as they decided to hold Altuve at third instead of go for the double play, the guy sitting next to me and I both said you always take two outs for 1 run if you're up by three.
If nothing else you hold the man at second. We called it "put the ball in your pocket". I can see why he went home as his momentum had him heading that way already, but he could've just as easily held on to it and stopped the play.
@@203Cree I’m not sure what you mean by that. If he hadn’t thrown home to stop the runner from scoring, then there wouldn’t have been a runner at 2nd, because he would’ve thrown there, instead, and got him out. There was only 2 realistic outcomes, depending on what he decided to do. His choices were to either throw to 2nd for a double play, which would’ve given up a run, but it would’ve also cleared the bases, or throw to home, and get the lead runner out, but leave runners on 1st and 2nd. The whole question is, is it better to be: A) Up 3 runs, with runners on 1st and 2nd, and 1 out? OR B) Up 2 runs, with no runners on base, and 2 outs? Obviously, neither one of those outcomes ended up happening here, because that one dude just flat-out missed the easy throw from the catcher, but that doesn’t really change anything, though, as far as what the better play would’ve been in that situation. The question is certainly debatable, and there’s no right or wrong answer. I could definitely see advantages and disadvantages to either option, so I think it would be a tough decision to make, as a player, or as a manager. I really don’t get what you’re saying about holding the ball, though. Of course, he could have just held onto the ball, allowing the runner at 3rd to score, and preventing the runner headed to 2nd base, and the hitter, headed to 1st, from getting any further than that, if that’s what you mean. That really wouldn’t have made any sense, though, for him to have just held onto the ball, and not even attempted to make 1 of the 2 routine plays, to get an out or 2. I get being conservative, at times, when you have a pretty good lead and all, but that would just be way beyond playing it safe. Lol I mean, when would you ever try to get an out, if not on a play like that? I seriously apologize, in advance, if I’m misunderstanding you, and I’m pretty sure that I am. You seem to know enough about baseball to not be saying what it seems, to me, like you’re saying, but I really don’t know what else you could be meaning, about holding the ball, though. I do know, for a fact, that one of us is confused, but I honestly don’t know if it’s me, or if it’s you. If I had to guess, I’d say it’s me, but I’m confused about how I could be confused, if I am, in fact, confused. Lol Please explain what you mean, and then, if I’m misunderstanding you, like I think I probably am, I’ll gladly admit that I’m a freaking idiot. Lol I won’t even hesitate to admit it. I’m just really curious about what you mean. Thanks!
@@chriswebster24 sure. What I mean is since his momentum was carrying him to home, the time and skill needed to rotate and accurately make the play at second goes up. If he wasn't sure he could make the throw in either direction, you hold the ball to stop the play. Conservative, yes. Would it have been the right course of action? Maybe.
That was a great slide, first of all. Second: is it just me, or does this feel more like baseball than the "three true outcomes" game we usually see today?
@Crazy Ohioan Cars, Guns, and Gaming Once Cabrera joined the 3K Hit club MLB Network asked who and when (if) will we see the next guy to reach 3,000? You'd probably think there must be a dozen or so guys that would threaten that total but the list is much smaller due to the lack of small ball in the game today. There are other factors as well including Covid shutdowns and labor disputes with the league costing players at least a few games and possibly 200-300+ games. Who are the stud hitters in the league that came up at a really young age who could come close and not become the next Andruw Jones or Carl Crawford or Juan Gonzalez? Mike Trout has missed too many games and has too much power to collect a ton of hits but look at Bryce Harper. Harper Walks and K's like Adam Dunn did and his power is hot and cold but frankly Bryce doesn't get enough hits. His OBP is usually high but like a Bonds not enough singles to threaten 3000. I think the only 2 with a shot are Freddie Freeman and Manny Machado based on their current numbers, injury history, and the guys that will protect them for the next 5+ years in their lineups.
@Crazy Ohioan Cars, Guns, and Gaming Actually Machado since his Age 22 Season has played in 162 157 156 162 156 60 (Covid) 60/60 153 and this year About 150 That is a very high percentage of possible games played which is a big factor as to a possible 3K club. Back to the change in the game there aren't any guys in the game now who get 180-220 hits year-after-year. I hope Freeman gets there though.
I used to watch a lot of baseball with my grandpa during the steroid era. He pitched in the minors but had his rotator cuff blow out, so he coached instead. He used to tell me all the time that nobody knows how to play small ball anymore or nobody can lay down a bunt to move the runner over. Seeing this breakdown would have made him smile.
@Crazy Ohioan Cars, Guns, and Gaming Also add the automatic intentional walk to that litany of dumb new rules that only make the game worse. There’s such a thing as passed balls on wild pitches, stolen bases, and batters being able to reach a pitch not quite outside enough and hit it-Vlad Guerrero did it sometimes! Also just the idea that a pitcher can just command a batter to go to first base instead of actually playing the game is just offensive to the spirit of the game of baseball, too.
Alright, i've been watching your channel for about 2 hours after discovering it for the first time. I have been laughing and enjoying the fun comedic twist you're adding to sports casting (especially baseball) but still being knowledgeable. After this video about playing small ball, playing the mental game, strategy and wits against a long ball power team really hit home for me man. i love the game that's being played between good catchers and pitchers vs betters. My dad never understood why i would sit and watch pitch by pitch on tv for over 2 decades. One day he decided to say in curious tone "I just don't get how you watch these throw this ball to each other?" All i said was mental game pops, and started calling out pitches and where i'd go and with what. He watched the 2020 season with me. He had figured out what i was always seeing in what's "just a baseball game". we loved it, he passed 12/2020 on his birthday and was a fun year of baseball my guys
You have single handedly made me a baseball fan. I despised watching baseball but after watching your videos and your breakdowns I understand more of the game. It’s become fun to watch. Thank you!
It really is. The 2020 Braves vs Dodgers series was amazing but the only people there was players family and friends. They need a roof but the design hurts the team.
Watching guys just swing wildly trying to get home runs drives me nuts. Love seeing teams adjust and do things differently. That's classic, entertaining baseball.
I WOULD LOVE A SERIES OF BREAKDOWNS that teach the little important things in baseball that a lot of us don’t know. I LOVE THIS. More of this kind of video… I’m turning into an actual fan as I learn more. THANK YOU!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Never heard of Jomboy Media until day. Now I'm subscribed to the baseball channel on YT and the Talking Baseball podcast on my phone. I'm sharing this video with my kid who is just getting into baseball but doesn't know the strategy. This is a better explanation than I could ever do. Splendid.
5:58 “That’s not real, that’s a fake box.” i laughed a lot harder than i should’ve at that. they’re all fake boxes. 😂 I’m just imagining jomboy thinking it’s always a physical box hanging over the plate.
O's fan. And yeah, I remember that '15 post season all too well. But even though we got swept, couldn't help but root for the Royals against the Mets. Their brand of small ball was hands down the greatest thing to watch that year. Every play always had the potential to turn the game on its head and many times that was exactly what happened.
Way to go Jomboy! Thank you for explaining this to a new age of fans. SMALL BALL wins games in the post-season, but you must PRACTICE it during the regular season to be good at it. Take the extra base, move the runner, steal a bag, sacrifice bunts, etc. Baseball is a team sport played at the individual level.
As someone new to enjoying baseball, I really got the sense of that last bit you said from this video, which is really freaking awesome actually I've never connected with baseball like that before!
The description at the beginning is 100 percent me. I appreciate the breakdowns to see more of the people and nuances of of the sport. Only watched highlights before finding this channel and mostly watch this for my random sports kick. Not a huge sports guy but every now and then I feel like watching some. Love this channel. if you're getting into baseball I recommend watching some college world series that's where that real ball is, young adults/adults playing for pride and championship not money and stats like in the pros
The modern, home run obsessed game has lost so much of this. I love watching teams that can play small ball and do the little things well. I heard a stat today that 7 teams still don’t have a single sacrifice bunt this season and it’s late June. I miss the days when the game was about more than strikeouts and home runs.
Agreed. I became a Cardinals fan back during the early 80's "Whiteyball" era. I remember one season the leading HR hitter had less than 20 homers, but they had several players that could run like the wind.
@@camhabibi2217 are you serious? Have you been watching the game? Managers and hitting coaches have openly stated they’re instructing players to go for more home runs and don’t mind if the batting average drops as a side effect.
@@andrew3448 that’s definitely a big part of it but most teams have a back up catcher or utility substitute batting in the nine spot every few games with an average in the low 200s, if the leadoff man gets on base in front of them the bunt is still a better option than the likely double play.
You can really see the love that Jomboy has for the game in this video. And he connects with our love. Something that was killed in the SportsCenter era of highlight reels. Very nice work.

I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning. This has got to be the best breakdown you have ever done. You breaking down this video and explaining things the way you did can really help bridge the gap and allow people to appreciate why we truly love this game. Keep up the great work Jomboy!
The reason why baseball is so interesting is because of the small nuances that you never understand unless you played the game for a while. Thank you for breaking these things down so that people who usually don’t pick up the little things, get to understand them. Keep it up Jomboy🤝.
This was a fun video. I appreciate the explanation of some of the baseball lingo. I think every sport benefits from lowering their barrier to entry and making the game more accessible for new viewers. It's something baseball has struggled with in the past in my opinion.
@@dffndjdjd It looked like a classic case of not telling yourself where to go with a ball hit your way. Which is crazy because you're in The Show. I'd be pissed if I was that pitcher.
When I first watched Jomboy I didn’t even like baseball. Now I like it cause I understand it better than before. And as I keep watching, I’m beginning to really like base running and small ball way more than just constant HRs
JB is hitting on the single best aspect of baseball. Every action changes everything that follows, and a house of cards gets built up that can collapse in a second or succeed spectacularly - and then random things can happen too. Closest thing to chess I have found.
I extremely appreciate your breakdowns of small ball and the nuances. Small ball and the nuances are what really make baseball my favorite sport. Your breakdowns are entertaining and informational. So much though that my wife even loves watching them. This was not just a video about baseball. This is a great example about how "anything can happen in baseball." The game ain't over until it's over.
I just hope he gives all the context... it seems like most people are forgetting to mention that Swanson's control was awful the whole inning and with 2 outs in the 9th, a runner already on first, and Shohei Ohtani up next, we had absolutely no reason to intentionally hit Trout. I understand Trout being upset, but he took it way too personally for what it actually was. not to mention we've been hit by the Angels six times this year and have only hit them once (showing we're not a team that's trying to get revenge just because). also Jesse Winker was walking to 1st after getting hit when then people from the Angels dugout starting shouting things at him, which then lead him to turn towards the dugout and the fight breaking out. also the fact that the Angels swapped their original starter for some relief guy last minute, only to have the original starter come in after the ejections is very suspicious and kind of telling that they were definitely trying to fight and that this was intentional from the beginning. it's also pretty bs too that our 3 best hitters and manager got ejected (Julio getting ejected still doesn't fully add up unless there was unseen fighting from him), while almost no one of importance got ejected from the Angels. honestly the Angels showed they're a weak team by doing all this, and all their fans expecting us to stay quiet or trying to justify it because of Trout almost getting hit is ridiculous (especially when Justin Upton DID get hit in the head by them last week)... also Jomboy should make sure to point out Jesse Winker was taking big swings after Rendon's face grab (or whatever you want to classify it as) cause it seems like a lot of Angels fans think Rendon really did something by that, when in reality it was probably the weakest part of the brawl... anyway, idk what team you're a fan of, just figured there's a better chance Jomboy see's this here than me trying to comment individually
You got it totaly wrong, im guessing your a Mariners fan? They threw intentionally at Ohtani and Trouts head and keep on mind they had no intention of pitching to Trout because the very next pitch they intentionally walked him. You dont intentionally throw at Trout's or Ohtani's head and expect to get a free pass, it doesnt work like that. The Angels pitcher was just backing up there guy to show there was no place for that. Its all on the Mariners for that one they had it coming to them.
@@ryanreid9344 bruh, none of it was intentional from the Mariners side Saturday... the pitch thrown near Ohtani wasn't even that close to hitting him, he dipped back way further than he needed to while the pitch was just barely inside and high... as for Trout, Swanson couldn't control the ball at all that inning and walked McKinnon on 4 pitches high and outside (right batter's box). so when Trout was up and he threw another bad pitch (to the same batter's box) our pitching coach tried to talk to him and see what was going on, and then when the last pitch was wild causing McKinnon to advance to second and almost hit Trout in the head we chose to intentionally walk him cause we no longer had a potential force out on first and it would be to risky to pitch to him again when all of the pitches were hitting that side of the plate... why would we intentionally hit Trout with a runner on first, 2 outs, and Ohtani up next in a two run game? that doesn't make sense, and there's no good reason to do that... Trout took it way to personally thinking it was intentional when if you look at the context, there's no way Swanson was actually trying to hit him... it was a weak move by the Angels and Nevin trying to obviously to hit Julio in the head, and then actually hitting Jesse Winker the next inning was uncalled for and way more than just and eye for an eye
The angels were doing a lot of this at the beginning of the year when they were winning. Ever since they stopped we've been ass. I think we've lost 20 of the last 27 games or something like that. :(
Great breakdown video, I watched it with my older son and it was great for him to see all the nuances. Still presented in a lighthearted Jomboy tone and entertaining as well. Please make more videos like this!
Yeah, that’s only fun to watch when everyone is on steroids hitting it out of the park. No steroids, just play some small ball. Still very entertaining 😁
I personally, prefer to watch small ball more than just heavy hitters game. NPB for sure is super entertaining when comes to small ball and late game, come backs for them are their bread and butter. Glad to see you talking about the importance of small but crucial baseball! Great video as per usual.
Yeah, I agree with having to go for the double play and giving them the one run. You clear the bases, still have a two-run lead, and now you've got two outs and just need one more to clear the inning.
I want to agree, but that was such a simple play to home... You can't be thinking "Wait, what if my teammate makes an error?" You want your $325 million shortstop to play aggressive, right? 3rd baseman jacked it up and now needs to make up for it.
@@IamJustinM doesn't matter how much you get paid or anything. Basics are key and that's how big time players get their contracts is through basics. Get the easy dp no problem
When the Angels we’re going good, they were doing so much of this. I think that was the one thing Masson did well. Everything else I hated but he called for bunts, steals, hit and runs and it was so much fun to watch.
I like Tucker’s big ball decision to just blast it over the fence when there was a runner on base to take the lead. Really couldn’t have made a better decision there.
3:09 This is *beautiful.* It's one of those athletic moves only the guys with real God-given talent can do. You can work your butt off, and if you don't got "it," you can't pull this off.
I'm one of those people who didn't watch baseball but was a big jomboy fan. This year is this 1st time I've actually watched multiple games and even have a favorite team. You all have brought so much joy into my life!
As a lifelong baseball fan, it gives me chills and fills me with so much joy to hear my man Jomboy turned you into a baseball fan. 🥲It really is such a beautiful game. Welcome and I REALLY hope you watch the playoffs. Those games are epic (already seen historic stuff in just these wild card matchups) and most often must see TV.
I was at the first game, overall great baseball by both sides the whole game. The right fielder for Houston saved a ton of extra bases, and Texas kept hitting against the shift. Good solid baseball.
As someone who misses the way baseball used to be, thank you for showing how stealing bases, bunting the ball, and aggressive base running can win you games. I know that people like the home runs and they like the big plays, but for those of us who love the "game within the game" this video was such a pleasure to watch.
I absolutely love these breakdowns. Jesus lord keep them coming. My dad umpired for years at the college. Little League world series level but I never understood the nuances of baseball till watching these videos. Thank you Jomboy
7:30 I agree throwing to home at all was a bad move. It's no outs, top 8, first and third situation, and you're up by 3. On a double-play ball, you should concede the run and kill the inning, not keep the long ball tie possibility in for another two batters trying to throw out at home.
@@aaronbuckwalter96 yeah this was a little league mistake. Kids immediately think “don’t let them score” because thats how most other games are played. But baseball is one of the only sports where allowing a score could strategically benefit you in the long run. What a great breakdown
As a kid, I never hit the ball really hard, but I was a fast runner, first in the lineup with good OBP, and I led the league in stolen bases for multiple years. Infielders knew this and made tons of mistakes when I was around the bases. They would just get nervous and make mistakes. As an adult I became a base running coach and taught a bunch of kids timing with the pitcher for stealing, reading plays to get extra bases, making the opposing defense throw the ball in hopes that they make an error, etc. Small ball was and always will be my favorite part of the game.
This is why people who have played baseball before enjoy watching games so much. It's all of these little things that we all know how much they mean when you're trying to win a game. I totally understand why people don't really like watching baseball because they don't understand the inner workings like this but having Jomboy explain this all really opens the door for more people to get into the sport
I know the game has changed tremendously in the way it's coached and what players are told to do in specific spots, but I'm turning two there 98% of the time. It's hard to score runs, I feel great about a 2 run lead with 2 down that late in the game. I kind of feel like every coach I ever had from little league right into college would have felt the same way. That said, I would have never gotten after a teammate for getting the ball to the catcher in plenty of time to get the runner at home. He made a clean play. Gotta be an out there.
As a Cardinals' fan, we got to see a lot of this type of ball in the 80s. It looks like it's starting to come back and I enjoy that. Much better game than just a HR fest.
I think Seager did the perfect play, he got altuve in a run down, 8/10 times the runner is going to be tagged out, and since the rundown is 3rd and home, the runners would be stuck at 2nd and 1st. If altuve got out from the rundown, then the double play from 3rd to first or second to first would still be in play. The problem was not seager, the problem was not catching the ball by the 3rd baseman.
Is that 2/10 times worth it, though? Choosing the rundown gets you an expected 0.2 runs, 0.8 outs, 1.2 runners in scoring position, and 80% possibility of the double play later. Choosing the double play gets you an expected 1 run, 2 outs, 0 runners in scoring position and negating the need for a double play. With a multiple run lead, I think you give up 0.8 runs to get 1.2 outs and remove 1.2 runners in scoring position. Yes, I assumed 100% success on the double play because the one in question is routine enough that it probably approaches that.
So looking at win expectancy numbers - prior to that at bat the Rangers had an 85% win expectancy (up 3, runners on the corners, no outs) If the run down had worked as expected the Rangers win probability would go to 90.18% (runners on 1st and second, 1 out) If they turned the double play and let the run score their win probability goes to 94.4%. Obviously those numbers could change a little bit depending on where in the lineup you are and how hot certain players are or whatever, but as a general rule, just turn the double play.
That run doesn’t matter when you’re up 3 to begin with. The double play clears the bases and gives you two outs and makes it infinitely more difficult for them to score 2 runs with only 1 out to work with. Even if it worked out that’s a dumb play because the tying run ends up at the plate again.
Absolutely the best analogy of small ball. For so many years it's been going for the walk off. I love to see the grit in forcing the other team to make the mistakes.

Spot on ! Jomboy shows how awesome baseball can be!
I enjoy watching a Jomboy breakdown almost as much as watching the game, and I don't even have to like either of the teams in his breakdown.
Jomboy is the only reason I watch baseball
Jomboy is crushing it despite MLBs social media presence.
I love the semi-transparent Jomboy just menacingly floating around the screen
menacingly 😈
He's the ghost runner.
Because someone did this to one of my comments a few weeks ago I'll pay it forward:

@HerbisRGreen i know this is 5 months old, but "HRs are rally killers" is one of the dumbest beliefs in baseball.
"I'd love to have a baseball team that gets hits" is not exactly a controversial statement
This type of baseball is so much more fun than just hitting home runs
Nah, judge is plenty fun
and better for winning games
@@iambarrykatz nah
Home runs are good too but I hate watching a team swing them selves out of their shoes trying to hit a homer when they haven't hit shit all game. Even in the playoffs teams get lazy and just wait for HRs to score.
No shiy
Except for Gary, Keith and Ron on Mets broadcasts. Want to learn about baseball? Watch them.
The whole question is, is it better to be:
A) Up 3 runs, with runners on 1st and 2nd, and 1 out?
OR
B) Up 2 runs, with no runners on base, and 2 outs?
Lol
Please explain what you mean, and then, if I’m misunderstanding you, like I think I probably am, I’ll gladly admit that I’m a freaking idiot.

Watching Braves baseball feels like the best of both worlds. Lol
@Crazy Ohioan Cars, Guns, and Gaming Actually Machado since his Age 22 Season has played in

About 150
That is a very high percentage of possible games played which is a big factor as to a possible 3K club.
Smart hitters would erase the shift if they practiced hitting ball the opposite way like Gwynn and Rose used to do.
@@kennethseden A thing easier said than done when batting practice arms are throwing 80s and the bullpen guy is throwing 99 with a wipeout slider.

The modern, home run obsessed game has lost so much of this. I love watching teams that can play small ball and do the little things well. I heard a stat today that 7 teams still don’t have a single sacrifice bunt this season and it’s late June. I miss the days when the game was about more than strikeouts and home runs.
This is why i love the extra inning ghost runner. Its pretty much a test of smallball
(And so many teams are still so bad at it)
that sac bunt stat is thankfully helped by the fact pitchers dont bat anymore
You're the man, Jimmy. I think the Jomboy Media documentary should be called "The Domino Effect of Breakdowns."

JOMBOY, you gotta do the Angels/Mariners brawl from today as your next. Would be great!

Small ball is infinitely more fun to watch than the perpetual strikeout/homerun dichotomy that dominated the MLB for the last several years.
From then on you did your job as the infield. Any lead given up that inning is on the pitcher most likely.
I want to agree, but that was such a simple play to home... You can't be thinking "Wait, what if my teammate makes an error?" You want your $325 million shortstop to play aggressive, right? 3rd baseman jacked it up and now needs to make up for it.

altuve’s digital strike zone looks so small because the strike zone is meant to be based on a player’s stance after they load up to swing
7:30 I agree throwing to home at all was a bad move. It's no outs, top 8, first and third situation, and you're up by 3. On a double-play ball, you should concede the run and kill the inning, not keep the long ball tie possibility in for another two batters trying to throw out at home.

I was a kid in the 80s (born 1979) in a National League city (Cincinnati) so I love this
As a kid, I never hit the ball really hard, but I was a fast runner, first in the lineup with good OBP, and I led the league in stolen bases for multiple years.
I shared this with my friends are have always been "meh" about baseball and they all found it fascinating. This is why we need more small ball.
What a great call from the second stolen base, theres no way I would have seen that live goood job ump
Awesome break down. More of this please. Love the graphic with your head floating across... very cool. Thank you!
Breakdown of Angels and Mariners brawl!!?
don’t mind me just waiting for the angels mariners breakdown
This was a really fantastic breakdown. It was the kinda breakdown that made me more into baseball as a sport and not just a fun moment.
I always explain to people that baseball is an athletic game of Chess. You broke this down beautifully. Thanks jomboy!
Will there be a vid bout angels and mariners
So looking at win expectancy numbers - prior to that at bat the Rangers had an 85% win expectancy (up 3, runners on the corners, no outs)
If the run down had worked as expected the Rangers win probability would go to 90.18% (runners on 1st and second, 1 out)
If they turned the double play and let the run score their win probability goes to 94.4%.
@@LuckyLlNK I got a resolution, how about striking out the batter so that everyone wins
Absolutely the best analogy of small ball. For so many years it's been going for the walk off. I love to see the grit in forcing the other team to make the mistakes.
Jomboy has single-handedly peaked my interest in baseball. Love this stuff, keep it up

We need an Angels Vs Mariners brawl breakdown!
WHAT HE SAID
When is the Winker brawl breakdown? So many Easter eggs in that bitch.
Angels Mariners brawl now!
Sweet breakdown. This is one of the conversations I can have with a select few friends who love baseball as much as I do.
I’m a lifelong baseball fan, but I still loved this video. The nerdy minutiae of the game is part of the fun!
