I love our Launch Scan Pad we have at work. Makes finding ABS wheel speed sensor problems easy. You can graph each sensor then lay each graph on top of each other. Makes seeing differences in wheel speed easy.

I bought a ThinkCar Mini 2 as a DIYer. At it's price point, it is amazing. Software must be the same as your Launch because watching your screens and menus, mine looks just like yours. Mine is bluetooth, which is great. And, talking about programing key fobs, my Mini2 programmed new fob for my 1996 Jeep GC. I couldn't find a Jeep dealer or a locksmith that could do it. I could never find a shop or person that had the factory DRB to do it either. Amazing what the offshore aftermarket manufacturers can do. Good video, thanks.

Thinktool and Topdon software was written by Launch. Thinktool updates ruined mine. So do not update Thinktool.

I have several scanners, but my go to is the Thinktool ProS. It’s the same launch software and the capabilities are as good or better than my snap on or autel, and for around $1300, you can’t beat it.

Same here but if I could do it again I would have gotten the next model up from that which is only a few hundred more...i had to turn down a job on a 16 e series Mercedes that needed a new headlight assembly coded and the proS won't do coding other than pcm/tcm and injectors and such...the next model up would have coded the headlamps, my autel 906 and snap on verus couldn't do it

This scan tool will program transponder keys. I have the mobile model scan tool and i can verify it will do it. I think it's a decent scan tool, so far it's done everything i need it to do, but will not flash ECU's/ECM's/PCM's... whatever you wanna call it. It can pull body module codes too, which i think is a must to have with today's vehicles. Only difference between yours and the one i have, is the screen size, but the software still has the same bidirectional options. It's like comparing a phone to a tablet, they still do the same things.

I like my little Topdon ArtiDiag800 BT. About the same price but uses a Bluetooth dongle to connect and free lifetime updates. It is NOT bi-directional but it does have 28 service functions and resets. I have other tools if I need to go deeper.

Thank you, Thank you Ken. I have a stumble in my truck and replacing the Mass Air flow sensor did not fix it. I went by the Blue Driver info. You're right, the cheap scanners have their place. But I need something to check the injectors, misfire, and the throttle body data. You are great Tech and again thank you. I probably will buy this to help me figure out what's wrong with my POS Ford lol.

Thanks for giving us a live visual of the scanner in action. It does seem to do a lot of functions? The speed or loading times are usually faster the more dough you spend, but for a home scanner, I would love to have that? I have a Actron live data unit, but no way to actually figure out, which of the 13 DTC's on my car, are all generic in nature and no Bi-directional functions to test components properly? I may just have to get me one, to at least fix my own car, and having the ability to fix others as well? Thanks again, Kenny.

I was beside myself…airbag code on my ‘07 Subaru Tribeca. Did everything I could do without a Subaru SSM. Dealer wanted $175 to plug it in. Hmm. Found the XTool D7 on Amazon. Literature said it covered Subaru. Really? I wrote to them thru Amazon and a lady responded within a day, assuring me that their engineers guaranteed it would work. And, it was going to offered on one of those “flash” sales for $75 off in a day or two. $300 and it told me the exact component that had faulted! Very fast loading. Free updates for all makes and models for 3-years. Customer support is in China, but they answer as soon as they wake up after you write. I don’t know $#i+ but this thing has been amazing with every vehicle I’ve used it on.

what's the D7 have to do with the x431 review? I've seen a lot of people hate on the xtools, lock ups, error pops when trying to write to vehicle, not supporting as many cars, etc.

On record test, with the engine cold and off, check to see if the CTS is similar to the outside temperature. If not, the CTS is bad. If the CTS thinks it's freezing when it's actually 88°, the mixture can be rich. That'll affect fuel trims.

I think the 6 pin is used on the 2018 and later gateway port due to the TH-cam channel that hacked into a Jeep over vehicle internet connection. I have the xtool due to the quick scanning on my Toyota hybrid system. Ability to program keys pays for itself.
