When I heard Summoner was coming, I got my game patched up to get back into it, and then your video reminded me of all the reasons I quit playing the game. in trixion the dps difference is around 10 -15 % but in a real fight it depends on the boss and how many dps immune phases it has. its why swiftness builds have big disadvantages in this game. the spec build will always do at least 15% more dmg in a real fight and that percentage goes up the more dps immune phases a boss has. however swift summoner is one of the best classes to learn a boss fight with because its so easy to deal dmg so its not all bad for the swift build.
Interesting. What I missed in this video, was a comparison to other classes. I still have no idea where Summoner even stands in terms of damage to other top classes.

Questing up to 50 took a long time but was fun. I took my level 50 character with 302 gear and stopped playing for 6 months. When I came back, I bought the $50 booster for South Vern. I was excited to get the updated armor and whatever perks came with it. What I wasn't expecting was that it would bypass all the questing in Yorn and Punika completely. Then, I couldn't find anymore story quests for my level at all. It was just grinding for gear upgrades and even then, you still had to have components which would still eventually run out. Get ready for your gear honing to fail a lot. You will also lose a lot of components. I got to like 1415 and then stopped playing again because I ran out of a certain small yellow gem and it was monotonous and boring. I hate to bring World of Warcraft into this but I think they do expansions properly. You can still boost your character up but they make you do the storyline for the next 10 levels. You don't bypass any quests from the new expansion. This is what Lost Ark and other MMOs should do. Boost to a certain point but don't cut out all the quests for the new content. In this way, the game is somewhat poorly designed. It's just another money grab. So, I left again to go play World of Warcraft and it's a lot of fun.
I am VERY new to the game, and did not see anyone else asking in the comments, so I guess I will. Why is swiftness called agility in his video and when he is pointing at the "Ancient Energy" engraving, does he mean Communication Overflow? Maybe he is using mods, or a planner website or something else I am missing. I would just like to be on the right page when trying to figure out what to do as a new player. This has me confused as hell. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to answer.

Hm 🙂 There is a bit on the pet awakening, and if you count the electric storm as lightning then you can have more of it. Also the ancient skill Akir i sort of lightning but golden color. You deffo have more here than on sorc 😆
I think maybe gunlancer has the most skills with lightning effects, but they are not like thunderstrikes. And also probably not the class you are looking for hahaha

Thanks for the video. I am really excited to play the pet build summoner. I wonder how much % on the damage is done by the pets because it seems we don't use senior summoner in top 5 engraving which should give +10% damage to pets and 16% crit so it does not seem bad. Any insight please ?
Hi! Yes, the pet (summon) build doesn't use Senion Summoner, but its fine bcs it doesn't affect summon skills, only ancient and normal skills. It is a great 6th lvl 1 engraving though

Even if it meant going 4x3 +1 for now. I might try your 5x3 suggestion though. I didn't save many mats and not a whale so she'll be chilling at lower ilvl for a bit while I slowly grind her up. Looks really fun though and possibly a main long-term.
I am a sustain, guy. Love constant dmg. Probably why I gravitate to Reflux, Tai-Jitsu and Athenian builds as opposed to their alternates. Which identity suits that style more?
Dumb question: Is it worth running All-Out-Attack on a Senior Summoner build? Thought it doesn't since you only have two casting skills and are not as much focused on them as when you play the other class engraving. Still I kinda think I would feel more comfortable with that engraving. Edit: typo
Hi, that would be a bad idea. However, you can absolutely choose the casting speed tripods (up to lvl5) on both the casts in the spec build. One of them even has a leg galewind so it's really not as bad. With a support in your grp you'll feel good
There has never been any class I wanted to play both except this one. Both seem fun, both seem viable. I’m gonna be broke trying to get gems and gear for both unique class engravings sheesh.

Hey man, yeah, those are the best engravings for a spec build regardless if you go hallu or salvation. I think that Salvation + Crit could be better at level 2 and once you have lvl 5 crit tripod on Shrudi, bracelet with crit, and level 9 cd gems

@puhdyn1 you would still use Adrenaline because it's mega value over CD in a 5eng setup. If you can only aford 4engr, than sure, you can give up Adre, play Hallu set, Crit on neck and use GR, KB, Masrer Summ and a 4th of your choice

Ignore @Garrat 's response, it's completely irrelevant and inaccurate. Summoner can build two ways, You can go Spec+swift with Hallucination gear, or Spec+Crit with salvation. Salvation gives attack speed that you miss from the Swift stat, and Hallucination gives crit rate that you miss from the Crit stat.
spec+crit (salvation set) has higher damage numbers/ceiling than the spec+swift (hallucination set). Thats all just theory tho considering you rotate your skills well and hit your spells (which will be harder to do without the extra swiftness, also dodging boss patterns will be harder). Its all up to personal preference. Both builds perform extremely well, its just that the spec+swift build is conisdered "more meta" on the Korean server, yet some veteran summoner players prefer the salvation spec+crit :) Hope that helped you out.
Hi, well you can play swift with a Hallucination set or crit with a Salvation set. Or you can even have crit with Hallucination for example. My preference is swift as secondary until I really get into lvl 10 gem and lvl 5 tripod territory
Just one question about the difference in dps between the 2 build. In real fight, the uptime of the minions build should be better that the high summoner and so reduce the difference between them ?
Indeed, the swiftness version with the pets is perma dpsing, while the spec version is more bursty. In other words, pets dps non stop even if there are dodge patterns to do so yes it is a big thing. Plus, pets skills don't have long animation to cast

Hi yes that's true, reason why some people got to even ~7% DPS difference in between the two. At the same time, bosses with longer DR patterns (typing test in Vykas, Mario prep in Kuku) suck more for the swift build than they do for the spec one, because the goal is to constantly have pets on the boss while you avoid the small patterns.
Swift build doesn’t run hitmaster cause that engraving doesn’t effect the charming set which is what will be doing most of your damage early on when building for swift before transitioning into hallucination. For swift your engravings should look like class/grudge/keen blunt/adrenaline/ raid captain or cursed doll
Hi, Hit Master is good too (except for the Charm set) like Pure mentioned. I didn't have it in this example because Raid Captain is a few % better once you get to 136% move speed.

To all the newer players out there, # of level 10 attack gems required should be a MAJOR factor to consider when picking a class. It sounds way out there in the future. It sounds like a decision you don’t have to make right now. But here is the tricky thing, by the time you start considering level 10 gems, it’s too late!

He is playing the Russian version of the game, Korea version also has different names for things.

@@ptilu3220 charm set its a "newbie"/alt summoner set, when you get bracers,good quality accs and good gems halucination is stronger.

summoner got shrudi skill which buffs Crit rate by about 12% so you dont need Crit stat

That's only true if you're getting lvl 10 dmg gems by maining summoner, if you're playing summoner as an alt, it shouldn't be a major concern.
