I feel the same. I'm 27 years old, deaf, and unemployed, but I have to try my best. Because I always face my challenges in drawing anatomy and perspective to make manga in the future. I should be better off focusing on drawing art if I have encouraged my trust and believe in myself.
I keep getting distracted from drawing just... researching instead of practicing and then getting disappointed my art skills aren't improving. Thank you for sharing your progress and tips. Its a good reminder that theory and practice go hand in hand.
thank you so much for sharing your wisdom!! i tried drawing a year ago during my summer break, and gave up after two months because i felt embarrassed and stuck. but i do enjoy drawing; i want to get back into it, but i can never find the confidence to start. maybe i will try again soon 🔥🔥
I really loved that las frase "When you practice, you love art and then art loves you" It really resonates with me. I do enjoy your videos and even tho i've been an artisti for a long time I have this mindset that we can always learn new things and also learn so much from others. For example, I've been using your videos to find efficient and actual useful ways for me to learn new skills while drawing. So i most thank you for that and for doing this thing where you share your process and help others (like me) who find difficult the part of finding a process or a way to study art.
Ah, thank you so much! As someone who gets discouraged easily this is really helpful! Currently trying to overcome my fears and insecurities, hopefully I'll improve my art and mindset soon! Best of luck for you too!
I been through stages on and off doing art , i keep coming back anyway. I was on6-7 months without drawing anything and now i came back more commited to draw. I sketch everyday on my cheap sketchbook and occasionally sketch on procreate. Lets continue to draw ❤
Nice! For best improvement, it's good to focus on the drawing skill rather than painting and color. Proportions, facial features, gestures, stylization. Once that is good, making progress with everything else will be very quick.
Getting distracted isn't my problem however, i started drawing because I came across Japanese artists on Twitter and looking at their arts helped me cope with anxiety or depression a little bit. It also inspired me to draw which is why I started. It became another one of my outlet to express my negative feelings. On some days depression can so intense to the point I can barely bring myself to draw but i mostly managed to be able to bring myself to.
You're officially one of my favorite YT channels. As someone who drew constantly as a kid/teen and fell off for over a decade...I needed this. Thank you, you don't know how many people you're inspiring out here. (Also, your art is super cute and atmospheric.🎴They say the artist who can draw cute girls will never go hungry)
for my first yr, I always took it as a discipline and hardworking in drawing since I believe it will be the same habit as a gym progress. It worked. I advanced far bttr for a beginner, but in result I hated it from creating new pieces resulting in taking a 2 month hiatus due to how much I stressed over it. I learned from 7hrs average per day which it was my mistake in just jumping in without knowing a good habit (turning into a consequence). As for right now, my second yr, I have learn to develop a good habit, but from seeing this video I saw how this habit wasn't a good habit lol. I appreciate for sharing this topic, it opened more on what I need to fix, especially comparing. in Foudo we trust ;)
Love videos like this and your channel in general. Especially the mindset and problem solving you employ. It's infectious and makes me want to improve as well. Hope you continue and thanks for sharing your thoughts :))
your progress is absolutely unbelievable. i found your channel just about a month ago, but youre already one of my favorite art channels, and for the first time in 5 years im attempting to draw daily because of you. your videos are such a valuable resource for artists at any stage, and im very thankful i found this channel. thank you!!! also, it was nice to see your sketching process. the methods you use are very interesting :) by the way, you mentioned you draw on an ipad. i may be wrong, but the layout in the video seems to be on desktop. do you also use photoshop on your ipad, or a different program? ive used medibang paint ever since i began digital art but am interested in new programs.
I use Procreate on iPad for sketching because it's convenient. You're right, the process in the video is Photoshop on desktop. And good luck on your art journey.
Lately I've been very discouaged by AI images. It makes me wonder what's even the point when years of blood, sweat, and tears can be overtaken by a program. May I ask what keeps you going in the face of that? Or what are your art motivations?
I think AI has a positive impact on the art community. Similar to how the invention of the camera liberated painters from strict realism, even though the purpose of art has never been to pursue realism. AI lacks desires and, therefore, lacks a specific purpose; they don't truly create. If AI can lower the barriers to artistic creation, allowing individuals to express their ideas without the need for years of technical training, it is undoubtedly a good thing. Much like before the invention of computers, architects had to hand-draw blueprints, consuming a significant amount of labor, the advent of software has made this process more efficient.
@@thefoudopalace If those are your thoughts on it, again, then what is your motivation for making art if you can simply use an AI generator and not have to do all these art lessons? Why offer these art lessons instead of suggesting people pick up AI? In my opinion, efficiently learning art is one thing, but art creation isn't about efficiency. To me, AI is no different than tracing an art piece and then claiming it as one's own. Just because it's more efficient doesn't necessarily mean it's good.
@@miriatha6889 I use AI voice and ChatGPT to fix grammar in my videos. I also utilize Premiere presets, pre-made materials, and music. Despite using these resources, I can still claim the videos as my own. AI collects artists data, I can use that to find references faster. While AI can handle the writing process, it can never create my TH-cam scripts without me. My English is bad, and without the assistance of AI, I wouldn't be able to produce these videos. You still need to struggle to learn art; only those who understand art can better leverage AI.
@@thefoudopalace You're contridicting yourself. First you said that AI has had a positive impact because it lowers the entry barrier for art, then you say we still need to struggle? Art experience doesn't really factor into AI images. I've seen images created by people who have never done any art before and it doesn't look that different from those who have done art because it's based on text input and the prompt words don't even have to be art terms. AI does collect artists' data...that's literally the problem, as it does so without consent. There's tons of references and helpful artists lists out there that you shouldn't be stepping on those very same artists to find their art just a tiny bit faster for the sake of convenience. Outside of the drawing sphere, AI can be a useful tool but it's the difference between buying a cake mix, baking a cake and saying it's your cake that you baked, versus stealing a cake from a bakery, scrapping the frosting off and putting on different frosting, and then claiming you made the cake and its yours. So if you manufactor an image off of the backs of other people's own images and labor, then it is no longer your own. OTHER PEOPLE'S LABOR IS NOT A TOOL. There's also a massive flaw in the logic that there is no struggle or labor in AI images. The labor is still there. It's done by all artists the AI program ripped off. The images these programs are generating didn't magically appear out of thin air.

Man, those words really made me more pumped up to practice drawing! Always remember that you will only fail once you quit, so never give up!
We're all in this together, wishing the best of luck to all fellow artists for the year ahead 🥳
