Channel is so damn good: no long intro getting straight into the lesson with precise clear instruction and in an easy to digest, pleasant delivery. Ur videos have helped me so much Mark, and continue to help me, cheers! 🙏
It's all about being at a high enough speed for the new gear when skipping gears going up. Much less than 40 , you're not really going to get away with 5th. Going down if I'm slowing down approaching a red light or a queue, I tend to just brake, dip the clutch just before the engine is gonna struggle, and then if I can go, check my speed and select a new gear appropriately with a bit of throttle first to rev match the down change
Hi there, i have a problem with those sharp turns or slowing down off a main road doing 30 to 40 mph then slowing down to the point where i have to be in gear 1 for the sharp turn. My problem always is that my speed doesnt go slow enough before the turn so i can put it into gear 1 smoothly like you did from gear 4 or 3. Is there anyway i can change or help this? Thanks and great vid by the way.👊🏽
Hi, when my learners have this issue it's usually because they start slowing down way too late and then realise close to the junction that they're are going too fast. You need to start bringing your speed much earlier and don't worry too much about slowing people behind you down. They will be aware that you're going to slow down due to your signal.
Just a little correction mate, in the online version of ‘know your traffic signs’ under the controlled parking zones section it says “some parking spaces may be for permit holders only, others for general use”, usually you need a permit to park in a controlled parking zone but not always, some controlled parking zones allow non-permit holders to park but they have to pay and display to park, the details will be on the sign next to the bay.
I skip gears in only in an emergency . I don't recommend skipping gears like this for new drivers. With experience anyone can skip gears smoothly. First learnt to drive normally then with experience anyone can use these methods.
@ZONDOdriving When skipping gears speed of the engine have to be reduced or increased according to the gear we select. If not car will jerk and it is not good for the engine. By instinct experienced drivers know how much engine speed should be reduced or increased according to the gear they select. When unexperienced drivers do that they they will not do it properly. Actually experience shapes driving.

My swift GLX struggles to go into gear one unless I’m still 😢. It’s still new , not sure if I’m the problem or it’s a swift issue
There are very few reasons to need to use first gear unless you're stopped, I wouldn't worry about it.
Could either not be going slow enough or not depressing the clutch fully
It's not an issue as such, it just means you ned to go slower.
Do you need a permit to park in a restricted parking zone?
No, you'll just have to make sure of the hours you're allowed to park. You do need a permit in a Controlled parking zone though.
Thank you very much mate, I really appreciate it.
