This is one of those rare times where you review a figure that I already have which is nice because very often after one of your reviews I look at my wallet and I’m like oh snap here we go again. You’re videos are always so dang convincing. Lol
One of my absolute favourite figures in my collection! He goes perfectly with the Flash and the more recent Batman from Sideshow. As far as I'm concerned if you collect comic style figures like I do then this guys is an absolute gem!!!
The wrist pegs, simple yet elegant solution! Very keen on the art box, so cool to have snippets of Supe history to display alongside him or just enjoy everytime you take out the box to fish out an accessory. Definitely a keepsake
Actually in the earlier days of Superman he was shown as a big barrel chested figure. If you looked at the stories drawn by Wayne Boring he's drawn that way!
I love the classic costume, the vibrant blue and red looks fantastic but there's something about his face that's putting me off. I don't know if it's his big chin or pointy cheekbones but it looks a little ugly to me and that's my only gripe

Supes figure is great but I wouldn't call him super comic book accurate. You are right, with a Chris Reeve head sculpt he'd be a dead on accurate movie version of Supes but the silver age comic version is a bit beefier in the chest and shoulders and maybe SLIGHTLY older! Nonetheless it is a nice figure.
This would be the perfect base for a Dean Cain Superman. Just a new head and show accurate belt buckle. Regardless as a Superman fanatic this is a thing of beauty.
I do like this for the suit but not a fan of the headsculpt. While it’s supposed to a comic book version of Supes this doesn’t look like comic Supes to me, kinda derpy. In most of their premium format statues of comic Supes they nail it, might pick this up and score a different head as I quite like the rest.
I can officially confirm that a KO Hot Toys' Christopher Reeve head sculpt will fit on this figure with little to no moding and the skin tone is like a 90% match. So if you are in the market for a 80% accurate Christopher Reeve's Superman figure and don't want to pony up the $600-$1200ish for the real deal, this is a serviceable stand in.
Nice review. I had the older version of Superman and I upgraded the body to an m35. The suit fit well but after a month the stretched out symbol got vertical cracks. It happened to someone else hopefully you won't have that issue if you convert to a m34 body. Good luck 👍
I stumbled across Sideshow's previous comic book Superman figure in the wild many years ago and that it still holds up. It had three (count 'em) three head sculpts with a wired cape and a drape cape. He was a little lighter on the accessories but I think the heads and capes made up for that. I really really like it still to this day but if I hadn't found him, I would've definitely picked this one up! Great review.
If you swap the body to a Phicen, you'll probably want the M33 instead of the M34. The suit barely fits on the M33, and you'll probably need to cut the blue body suit at the waist and sew it back together once its on the body (the underoos and belt will hide the stitch same as it hides the factory stitch). At least that's been my experience so far-I can get the lower half of the suit on or the upper half, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to cut the 2 halves apart entirely to get the whole thing on. But maybe theres a trick to it.

This has nothing to do with this particular figure in the video but I do want to say that I am the future owner of the new Hot Toys Scarlet Witch figure! It’s a huge deal for me because it will be the very first figure from Hot Toys that I will actually have. Justin, I want to thank you for the videos that you make because it gives me a good idea of what it’s like to own one of these high quality figures!
I wish not only Sideshow, but other 1/6 scale company's would get over of just the same three or four main Characters of any comic universe. We need a Bizzaro, Cyborg Superman, Steel, SuperBoy, Supergirl!!!!!!! Please there is such a large variety of characters. (My opinion only)
Will you be picking up Sideshows Batman, Flash and Wonder Woman? The Batman and Flash are amazing imo, I think the Batman is based on his Final Crisis look but I may be wrong

Damn, this figure has some similarities to the Superman Suit from the Snyder movies, like the top of the S-Shield on his chest and the bottom of it a bit lower, and also how the cape is placed is similar to the Superman Suit from the Snyder movies (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, etc.) Reference and proof if you don't think so 9:38

So they went from having chests that are too wide and midsections too narrow, to having ones that match up better but balance too well and make him seem too thin overall?
Sorry I didn’t get to the part where you talked about the head but I was talking about a new figure with an accurate suit and he comes with the kryptonite necklace and the piece he uses to make the fortress of solitude and some other accessories
Just watched your latest Batman video today and had to go bk to this video to comment. Know u say you will be most likely changing the body of Superman to a m34 maybe and not changing the Batman body. Maybe you can make a video of you doing the body switch out. As per comment in the Batman video u mention having to undo the stitching etc and redo them in order to make the switch. Would love to see how you go about doing it and the techniques used to make the switch and still have it look like it was professional restitch like it was originally. Had to do stitching when was in military to put our patches and rates on our uniforms but it was def not done professionally. We just basically got it on the uniform looking good enough for the ranking ceremony if had one etc while out to sea for instance and didn’t have ability to go to store to get it done rt on all our uniforms bk then. So seeing how you go about doing your switches on figures may help me be more comfortable doing It myself to some other type figures I got with that type material
I'm mainly a 1/6 figure collector and hopefully I can pick this one up but being a 1/6 collector I gotta rave about those DC maefex figures ...I find myself suddenly hook on these and wish they were 1/6 because they look and pose so dam good! The maefex dark Knight returns Batman,the hush Superman Batman and the marvel McFarlane Spidey,, venom and wolverine...I'm really hoping at some point you pick those up and review them...there worth a pickup even though the price is crazy but so well worth it! I'm kinda iffy and the quality of sideshow figures some are hit and miss I would love to pickup this Superman but I'm opting on getting the maefex hush Superman more than this one . It looks and feels more on want I want a Superman to be. I really wish the maefex figures were 1/6...I'm really digging them and I only mainly collect 1/6.
I'm not a fan of the comic versions from sideshow, they look too simple to me, If they make more details in the costumes like mezco has been doing I think the can look pretty darn good, but I can say that the accessories that came with this figure are pretty good!.
