Such a tough choice. It’s a tie for me. I like them both for different reasons. All your points are solid. I didn’t think about not being able to use a wire stand with the soft goods. A draw is the way🙂
I like the Mezco figure more, because I feel it does a batter job at capturing how I personally see superman. Such as him having a less chiseled jawline, less buff body, and a homemade look to his suit. It's just what I see more in superman.
What do you think about the BLACK around the S? That's my only real problem. I'd buy it, if not for that. I HATE when I see black around the S, and diamond. It should be just yellow, and red.
Does the mezco figure look strange next to other Mafex figures or does he still fit in well? I want the mezco one but I’m worried he won’t fit in with my other Mafex
Sirdork, your video was the one that me decide to go for this figure. Just bought it yesterday, I'm hoping to get it before the 30th. Great analysis and comparison, dude. Thanks!
This is absolutely amazing figure! I thought it was going to be a doll (not a fan figure with soft material, except for the capes) but after getting it in my hand... just wow, perfect! Probably the best Superman figure after the Mafex one.
Slightly biased because I have the Mezco, but I prefer it more than the Mafex, it just looks friendlier and is what comes to mind when I think Superman
The Mafex is still my favourite but the accessories on the Mezco is phenomenal. But I know you complain that the Hush Superman doesn’t have a smiling face… look at the Hush comics, he didn’t smile in it. There wouldn’t be a smiling head sculpt because he never smiled in that storyline.
Just bought the Mezco Superman today! Now my Mezco Batman will no longer be alone Also, I 100% agree on the whole 'Superman Smiling Headsculpt' thing. It’s Superman, you gotta have him smilin! He’s a wholesome Boy Scout! That’s part of the charm!
The new Popmart Kingdom Come Superman is the best. The cloth goods on it is so much better than the Mezco soft goods, no stiching seen on it. I have both. If you want to get it, look for the exclusive version with the alternate head. Base version only has one head. But if you want to save $30, then get the base version for $70.
I agree with you that the McFarland action figures are really cool but that mesco that you just took shots of looked better in the pictures because you couldn't see where the seams and stitches were it was far enough that they Blended in the Mexico is my favorite
I guess it's a matter of taste but ii grew up with Mego & GiJoe cloth figures so for ME PERSONALLY I really appreciate cloth figures ESPECIALLY in my preferred 1/12 scale figures...BuuuuT, I get how some don't like it bc of the hassle w/keeping clean, misshapeness, fading, fraying etc.
Hi Mr Jared. I 'm A Superman Fan Too. I also Have A Few Superman Figures Myself. I Don't Have Any New Ones, Just Recent Ones. I've Done Some Toy Photos Also.
My biggest gripes with this fig are the legs and the height. Mine and others had uneven legs, one longer than the other. In terms of height, it's a tad bit shorter than most mezcos. I'm lucky I had some experience modding so I was able to adjust those parts. Other than that, this is the definitive Supes
I think Mezco is better (except wire in cape) thing is its much harder to pose, its also very stubborn as new for small details. To avoid bubbles under suit in neck area U must bend wire under suit to back side, if it goes with direction of cape itself is less visible as cape lies on it. Second thing is superbutt. To get sup shape needs ass up, chest up, buterflies to the back, its important to watch anatomy with photos, the body language, most of figures are made to keep some expressions, intentions, here we have to take them out, check for hip joints, supes should put legs closer to each other, becomes optical longer. Before we take the spirit out of them they easy get mego vibe. But overall nice job with this movie. Especially montage, nice collection too.
As Dope as that MaFex Superman (Hush) is, I'm going to have to put it at 3rd place for me. No. 1 would be the Mezco Superman (Man Of Steel), followed by the Amazing Yamaguci Revoltech Superman (New 52) at No. 2. And of course, 3rd place would be the MaFex Supes. Excellent video, by the way.
This 2 are great figures but looking for the photographer eyes and looking for realistic, the one with the soft goods suits ( think is the Mezco) looks more realistic with out the joints. That’s, for me, is a + 😉
The yellow on the mafex one frustrates me too much. I canceled my order on this one when it came out. I like the mezco one better. My one complaint with that one is howthe cape is bunched up in the suit.
My favourite Superman 1/12 is the one from Mafex, the Dark Knight Returns one, that is one magnificent Superman to me, and they nailed it for making Frank Miller’s art look good irl 😂😂
I have the Mafex. Absolutely love it. And I just got the Mezco. Both are great. Mafex is just better all around. As a figure brand. Better posing. Not as fragile. More affordable. Relatively. And I think the proportions look better. I think Mezco has been hyped up too much. Most of the figures look good on the surface, but there's really not much you can do with them. Not worth the price overall.
Personally, the way I see the Mesko is a better Superman action figure it represents the character in every way he smiles. He’s angry. He has laser, vision and cool accessories. They are specific to him. On the other hand would be the best generic. Superman is the best one to use for any display, and the one that can combine with most lines good with legends, DCC, DC icons he’s more versatile.
For my money the Mafex Hush Superman is much better than the Mezco. I strongly dislike the soft goods costume, except for the cape. It just looks bulky and weird at that scale. The Mezco's accessories are super cool, and I like that there's a smiling head, but the Mafex looks more comic accurate (mainly because it's directly modeled after Jim Lee's artwork from Batman: Hush). Granted, that's just my personal opinion, and I certainly don't begrudge anyone that prefers the Mezco.
@@sirdork730 I also wanted to ask. How does the Mezco figure look next to other non cloth goods figures? For example one of my favorite figures is my Mafex homelander. Does mezco superman look funny next to other figures who aren’t mezco? I hope this wasn’t too confusing lol.
Personally I think NECA's Superman from the 2-pack is the best Superman figure in the 1/12th scale to-date (even though it's a more like 7 inches). I feel like Mezco is too chunky/ugly and cloth goods at that scale aren't the best, also too many accessories that I just don't need. Not a fan of the thick black outlining on the front logo either. I loved MAFEX Hush Supes, but the lack of a "normal" head sculpt, plus the small-ish size and the looseness of my figure has bumped it down a notch for me.
yea i hate when people get free shit, and then whine for added function to the line they dont even collect personally. i mean the second mezco adds toe articulation to their figures and shit on all the looks of their pervious figures because of it, is the time i stop collecting them.
The hush one is amazing but gawt damn the accessories make the Mezco one the definitive Superman if you don’t care about any of that and store accessories away mafex is the go to but the led laser eyes , metal box and amazing accessories are hard to beat if you like taking pics the Mezco is a dream fig
mafex quality sucks really bad great looking figures but the quality is trash and over priced i got so mad because few months ago i got a man of steel black suit figure and it was already broken smh
No, I I think the best person to live your life by is Jesus Christ but that’s just my opinion.❤ amazing figure, and amazing photography. God bless.❤️🤟 4:09
I preferred how the Mezco pic came out, it’s so natural looking with the fabrics, and the smile just helps a lot more lol
I think in the photo you took the mezco one look sweeter and the smiling head just adds to the Superman of it all but for articulation the Mafex wins
For articulation the amazing Yamaguchi easily wins
@@phantomgauntlet yea I agree I just meant from the two pictures
Even with the little that was done with the mezco's cape, it still looked much better. I bought it a few months ago, and its the best thing i own.
Man, your photography is on another level!!!
Such a tough choice. It’s a tie for me. I like them both for different reasons. All your points are solid. I didn’t think about not being able to use a wire stand with the soft goods. A draw is the way🙂
its a tie for me too
Definitely mezco and soft goods sir!! I do own both versions and many others and soft goods always looks better!! Great review sir ✌🏻👍🏻👌🏻🫡
Hey I appreciate it! Thanks so much for watching!
I like the Mezco figure more, because I feel it does a batter job at capturing how I personally see superman. Such as him having a less chiseled jawline, less buff body, and a homemade look to his suit. It's just what I see more in superman.

Woah that is awesome! So glad the video was helpful! I hope you love the figure!
It's still Hush version for me. Soft goods on this scale looks funky.
This is absolutely amazing figure! I thought it was going to be a doll (not a fan figure with soft material, except for the capes) but after getting it in my hand... just wow, perfect! Probably the best Superman figure after the Mafex one.
So glad you think so! I love this figure!
Exactly the video I was looking for :) Thanks for making this one
Slightly biased because I have the Mezco, but I prefer it more than the Mafex, it just looks friendlier and is what comes to mind when I think Superman
Figures with soft goods look real nice but those without are better to play with.
I’ve meet Jared a few weeks ago at a toy convention, and I’ve never seen a video on that before. (next year I hope)
Can you do a full review of the amazing yamaguchi superman. He's pretty underrated.
Yes that make’s perfect sense!! +1 for accuracy, -1 for being the best Superman figure in my opinion 😅
Actually he did smile in “man for tomorrow” which is essentially the same Superman
@@fadidabban yes but the figure is from Batman Hush, not Superman Man of Tomorrow.
Just bought the Mezco Superman today!
Now my Mezco Batman will no longer be alone
Also, I 100% agree on the whole 'Superman Smiling Headsculpt' thing. It’s Superman, you gotta have him smilin!

Does the mezco superman fit with other non mezco figures?

I know I'm 3 months late to this party but, does the Mezco head fit on the Mafex?
Phenomenal video dude. You and I share a deep love for the man of steel 👊😁
You are the man Sully! So glad we agree on that! 🇺🇸
I really like the look and all the stuff the mezco comes with, I may have to pick that and the recovery suit ones up at some point
It’s currently 140$ worth every dollar

Wow Tons accessories and head sculpt Man U sold me I NEED one now 😩
In a word mate, yes 👍🏼🤝

Good video. I like the comparison. I really liked, the mafex hush superman, until I took this photo...
I appreciate you checking out the vid! 🙇♂️
Both of them look great. Have you ever checked the Beast Kingdom Superman?
Well, in the composition that you put, I think that the Mezco wins...! Feel more natural with the textile suit and the smiling face. 😃
As Dope as that MaFex Superman (Hush) is, I'm going to have to put it at 3rd place for me.

Interesting! The Yamaguchi is definitely an awesome figure, cool to see it as your #1. Thanks for watching!

TRY SUPERMAN BLUE
The Mezco picture was just way more organic. It wins the photo op in my opinion.

All about the Mezco Superman!
Tbh I like the mafex better sculpted wise cause the Mezco look kinda old tbh and does not look like has muscle
I may be biased I have the Mezco it’s true about the feet articulation Mezco Wins
I call it a tie ❤❤
I got this Psertoys Superman, very great version for an ok price. I needed a Superman, Mafex is hard to get and Mezco one is too expensive.

Pretty cool right? 😆 I’m very grateful!
Hush Superman is top notch
wicked review mate
Mezco!!!!!
And the biggest bummer over the Mafex is the S curl in his hair is backwards!!
both are great but I adore the mezco one. He does look a little robot chickeny but it doesn't bother me
Christopher Reeves is the best Superman
This video is good I was here at the premiere
For Revoltech Superman Figure
Do you have Superman from Injustice 2 I heard he's a great figure

The Mezco.

This one kicks it’s ass, if only it were plastic, I don’t really like cloth, making my figures look like barbie dolls
Agreed but they need to do a deluxe version with more accessories and a happy face sculpt
Mafex hush with mezco accessories would be peak, I would like cloth but idk but cloth on the mezco supermen doesn’t look super good to me
