As a lifelong fan of Tangerine Dream, and with Logos as one of my top favourites of theirs, I must say that this cover, this homage, is delightfully done. I am sure that Edgar would have been thrilled with it.
Absolutely BRILLIANT!!! Thank you for sharing this, one of my personal favorite TD pieces! W0W!! I'm blown away!!! What an excellent reproduction of the original, done by those who care, & know TD's music! Thanks again!!!! 💝💞💖
Kudos to Thomas, all the students and anyone who put their hearts into this. The Vocal Avance group gave me goosebumps with their interpretation. Another beautiful, brilliant TD cover.
I know this song backwards and forwards...and it surprised me how they pulled this off flawlessly! Happy to see these young musicians cover this song! And they did it with actual instruments...not synthesizers!
Awesome, as usual. Thomas is a genius and the kids are all stars. And it just goes to show how much complexity and ingenuity there is in the original compositions.
I‘ve watched this video now for so many times and I’m still so impressed how these young musicians with their classic instruments catch the mood and spirit of this electronic masterpiece by Tangerine Dream. It’s fantastic!
Amazing. As a TD fan for more than 40 years, all I can say this is absolutely amazing. Perfectly performed. Honoring the name of Edgar Froese. Thanks for what you do.
Absolutely amazing! I've never never heard a cover that sounded this accurate, and certainly not on acoustic instruments. The excellent performance aside, it really shows off how orchestral Tangerine Dream's music is.
Are you even kidding me?? Absolutely brilliant! You captured the nuances and the essence of Logos incredibly well. A stunning performance, congratulations and thank you!
OMG - this was so beautifull!! They've hit bullseye again with the interpretation of yet another TD-classic. So perfectly executed that the waterworks starts (again)!! Mr Rydel obviously have a special talent for converting complex instrumental pieces to accustic instruments. I'm so impressed by the tiniest details they've paid attention to. Maybe it's time to release an album ?
Thank you kindly! The music is available at Bandcamp and streaming services like Spotify. Fruits de Mer Records actually did a vinyl release of the previous three TD tracks, but I think they were sold out after just a little while.
@@thomasrydell Do you know Mikhail Chekalin's Meditative Music For A Prepared Electric Organ 2 albums? He often plays electrosymphony music using acoustic instruments. th-cam.com/video/K8yFOsEzeIE/w-d-xo.html
Hats off! This is truly amazing! I've known Tangerine Dream since my early teens til my mid 20s and know much of their music up to the mid-eighties to the very note by heart. This acoustic interpretation is very very close to the original.
Oh yes they sure are. When I got to know these albums, I was about 15 years old. At that time I got to know physics and especially maths through secondary school. A world opened up to me and everything flowed together: the intelligent, detailed construction of this kind of music versus the eye for detail for the subjects I learned at school. It was an intensely cohesive world to me at the time. At the moment, many years later and in a different phase of life, the palette is obviously much richer and sometimes just pleasantly less structured. I never thought of TD's reportoire as cold and analytical, but many other experiences through music, literature and life are simply added to it. And yet my appreciation for part of TD's oeuvre remains great. What I always really liked about TD was the timing (not too long repeats, but lots of new shifts in patterns) and a less polished sound than other artists in this genre.
I recently rediscovered parts of Oxygene. Part 4, for example, also appealed to me as a teenager, but lately I rather prefer to listen to part 1 (th-cam.com/video/7sVJJ5WCf3M/w-d-xo.html). It is so clever to create such a composition with such a sound image with the limited resources and the optimal use of stereo in those days .
This is the most brilliant and emotional cover of Logos Red & Blue parts I've ever heard, having me goosebumps, shivering, crying and laughing all along. Thank you so much for playing and sharing, this is really something.
After hearing the first seconds, I expected Celestial Voices from a Saucerful of Secrets... then I remembered it was another piece of music. For me it is the best TD composition ever. And the arrangement was fantastic.
Absolutely amazing cover of Logos, one of my all time favorites of Tangerine Dream. I wish you would work on the remaining parts of Logos. Kudos to the students and the mastermind behind this project. Thank you all for the MUSIC!
Superb. The arrangement is perfect. The performance precise and heartfelt. I was at the Logos concert in Sheffield and got the same feeling of fascination and movement from this performance as then. Well done everyone. Special shout out to the percussion students for their stamina on the sequencer parts! Love it!
Thank you kindly! 🙏 Good to hear that you were there! Yes, the percussion parts are very difficult so we hade to record one pattern at a time. All together, I think there are five or six different mallet parts.
You gotta love the fluttery piccolo. And the fact that these kids don't have an effing clue about the legacy. FINALLY I discovered it was "Wake up!" And not "Breakout!". Big debate with my mates as a teenager, now resolved.
A fabulous cover of one of TD's best pieces - breathtakingly good and faithful to the detail of the original. Everyone involved deserves absolute praise and respect.
Stunning! Blows my mind what you've done. What an awesome team to decompose and adapt the original material and perform with such professionalism. You could and should become the official TD orchestral adaptations team. The world needs your recreations.
Cheers from Los Angeles! Fantastic job! I played Alto Sax from grade school through college and wish we could have covered anything by TD. Congratulations!
This was a very complex track by TD, I know their recording so well. This acoustic recording fully captures the original. Hard work on the acoustic sequencing too. Beautifully done. Regards Rob.
WWWWOOOOOOOWWWWWW. I am a great TD fan from Germany. But this is so amazing !!!! A really fantastic and great acustic version .... absolutely excellently implemented... TNX
WOW! Edgar would be very proud of this! I hear this album since his appearance in 1982. And now this excellent transformation in analogue instruments ... Wonderful!!! Many Thanks from Germany and a deep obeisance for this great work and the performance of the young musicians.
Just found this and it's so well done congratulations to all the musicians for such an excellent performance of this piece. I saw this performed by TD in Glasgow 3 or 4 days before the London recording on the White Eagle tour in what became released as Logos :)
Hi Thomas! With Poland and Logos you have reached the Grandmaster level. Thanks and so much appreciated! Now a little next challenge for you: Force Majeure, Tangram Part 1 or Rubycon Part 1. Any chance?
Wow, that's AMAZINGLY GREAT, SUPERB WORK ! I hope the great Edgar ( Edgar Froese, TD's creator, who sadly left this earthy life just 10 years ago, in January 2015... ) is listening to this on the other side... I'm deeply touched, thousands of thanks to these wonderful very young musicians in Sweden !
More more more! "Church Theme" from the Wavelength soundtrack would be nice. "No Man's Land" from Hyperborea perhaps the ultimate challenge for the percussionists?
Thomas Rydell, and all the students who participated in this, I am blown away by this latest acoustic version of yet another Tangerine Dream classic. Truly magnificent. It's all good, but I particularly love the vocal reimagining of the voice samples on the original Logos. Absolutely brilliant! I wonder what you could do with the first ten or so minutes of side two of Logos :)
Yeah, I'd love to do a full album, but it takes forever to do it. However when I get rich and famous and don't need to work, promise to do the rest of Logos or another album :) Thanks for listening!
@@thomasrydell Each Tangerine Dream piece you have done has been magnificently performed. You choose the most marvellous tracks to interpret acoustically. Thanks 🙏 Yes I choose the parts that seem to be playable by acoustic instruments, and of course, that I enjoy myself. And this is the kind of music that requires the structure to be as similar to the original as possible, or else the hardcore fans will not like it :)
@@thomasrydell Oh god, I'm also aware of hardcore fans, unfortunately ha ha :) I guessed from viewing and listening to your orchestra's TD versions that you chose tracks that work with acoustic instruments. Very interesting take. I have been listening to TD ever since they started out and ,frankly, this is the most impressive cover I have heard so far. Not a synth in sight too.😊

Came here to say exactly this! Fantastic performance. They nailed it all round including the mix.
Love the way the mix of instruments and the orchestration really mimic the timbre of the electronic version.
Made me cry...... All is not lost! I wish Edgar could see/hear it too!
i wonder if chris franke has heard this one.
he is still among us...

Totally fantastic rendition of Logos. I was blown away by the arrangement. Gave me goosebumps several times just like the original did. Brilliant!
