If this is completely live it's a tribute to just how 3 people can be in tune with each other. Similar to the chemistry that Froese Franke and Baumann had in the Ricochet and Encore era.
Tangerine Dream is the group that led me down the Electronic Music rabbit hole....when they started to go more "mainstream" I moved away from them....but always had their classics close at hand. Decades later, I have amassed a rather large EM library...so large in fact that I rarely listened to even the classics....That is until I heard this session during the "LOCKDOWN".
I am so blown away by their new material....and the violin!! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Tangerine Dream and Prophet for your awesome work!!
just curious, at what point do you think they went mainstream? the melrose years?
I thought they went mainstream in the 70s with their albums breaking into the top 20 in Europe.
In sprit and deep essence this is Tangerine Dream, have been at two of their concerts in the 70s. I'm an aficionado of the years covering the Best line up of Edgar, Pete and Chris, there are elements of the these masters in the new line up, we know now why Edgar wanted these new members, they are the new Tangerine Dream.
For me , who used to listen to all the early TD albums, I feel that they have come full circle and I'm back listening to them again. I hope to see them live at this years A New Day Festival. Tangerine Dream will be around for many years to come. Thank you.

I love this sound... but is just the same estructure/ frame of a Phaedra/Rubycon/Ricochet album, same sounds digitalised etc.. But of course... I love it.

Its great to read that everyone seems to be united in their views on the 'new style' TD. Managed to see them live in the '70's and this could have been plucked straight out of this era. Thanks for all the TD posts.

This is so.. great, to see, and more, to ear that the TD vibe is stronger than ever.
The passing of Mr Froese is like that his music/heritage/spirit is now spreading to everyone.

This new lineup is perhaps the best one since Froese-Schmoelling-Franke. Here, Ysmane won me, she is fantastic, so emotional, so crying and happy. TD just got that privileged place no other musical institution can achieve. The "recursive status " as I call this new TD. Why recursive? This track sounds like Airsculpture, or RedShift which, at the same time they sound like Tangerine Dream. But, this Session is superb... I'm extremely happy with the new lineup: Thorsten-Ulrich-Hoshico.
The video is a great hommage to the Earth.

Thank you for your comments. This 'style' of composition goes way back to Tangerine Dream's 1970's live concerts, where everything was improvised. For comparison, check out their recent Øya Festival live composition that I've just posted on my 'SESSIONS' playlist😊

Waaaaaaaaaaaahnsinn ! Daumen ganz weit nach oben ! Danke fürs Hochladen ! Hab mir auch die 10:50 PM Session angehört. Erinnert an alte TD Zeiten. Leider konnte ich in Oirschot nicht dabei sein, durfte TD aber in der Elbphilharmonie Hamburg Anfang des Jahres live erleben.

Thorsten ,Ulrich and Hoshiko have come together quite perfectly, for this magnificent opus. Indeed the whole album is a showcase for the new Quantum Tangerine Dream!
PROPHET V I agree...the idea to get Hoshiko in the band is the best decision since long...with the others she harmonize extremly well ! That is hearable,it became part of the pyramid,the violin...! I love this life double album very much...its outstanding and very impressing :)
I was honoured to spend an hour or so, with Hoshiko, at a PPm gig in Berlin 2012. A lovely lady, with extraordinary musical skills.

Absolutely amazing re birth of TD....no silly melodies or repetitive loops and haunting flute too...Peter Bauman would be so happy. Great atmosphere ...need some big clangs and bangs like opening of Logos to keep things awesome though i think. There is an abundance of tepid ambient out there already.
