    Would love to see a 2022/2023 version of this video, especially talking about other controllers

    Just came across your channel via your Iris 2 review and really dig it. MPE looks like a ton of fun. I picked up a Touche SE a while back and while it's not MPE, it does give you a lot more expression over your soft synths, especially their presets in Lie. This looks like it's a whole other level!

    • @VenusTheory
      @VenusTheory  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I got to play with the Toche myself at NAMM this year and that thing is really cool. I have the Expressive E instruments, but haven't really been able to use them as they kinda require the Touche to really work well.
      That said yeah proper MPE is really mind melting with the kind of possibilities it opens up. I'm really excited to see where it goes in the next few years!

    The most expressive patch in this video is the one under your lip. Seriously though, those are great sounding patches you made that make me want to explore MPE!

  • @AllHailTheNoise

    That serum patch alone is what sold me on this lol

      FM with MPE in general is a lot of fun for really crazy sound design and one shots - that's one of my favorites to explore with things like Surge!

    Like many say here, Venus Theory is excellent at explaining. His demoing and instruction is so much more professional than Manufacturers.

    That demonstration in Pigments reminded me A LOT of Mario Galaxy, when you finished the level but didn't grab the star.

    With Live 11 you can use MPE with the midi clip editor. So you dont need to buy a mpe controller. :)

    Great vid, I'm so excited to start working with the Morph! Minor issue with the vid is we can't see your mouse pointer so sometimes when you say "let's do x here" it's not clear where you clicked.

    Yeah I was thinking about buying the MPK Mini 3 but now I am just gonna save up and buy Sensel Morph! This is awesome and looking at some of the bundles that they offer it seems like this is both a value buy and a luxury buy! Thanks for putting me on to this one!

    If you already have an iOS device, there's a touch MPE controller you can get for free. GeoShred has a fully customizable MPE touch keyboard / MIDI controller. GeoShred Control, customizable touch controller only, is free. Full GeoShred with over a hundred preprogrammed (and customizable) sounds is $25 US.

    Thank you. I was going to look at a roli for this, but now I’ll check out a sensel morph.
    May as well get used to a flat interface, since my other main daw is Logic Pro.

    • @VenusTheory
      @VenusTheory  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely recommend it! The ROLI is nice but it always felt a bit weird to me, and the people I know that own one also said it fell apart in ~1 year. (speaking about the smaller one, not the big giant ones just to be clear) Unless they've fixed that, I can't say I'd look at buying one.

    • @NeonPLotus
      @NeonPLotus 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VenusTheory the smaller one was what I was looking at. The block. I wasn’t ready to invest in the larger one, rise, or the seaboard.
      Those two things are way too expensive.
      Since Logic pretty much demands you use an iPad, and there’s also sidecar on the new Macs (so I should be able to use the iPad with bitwig, as well), getting use to a flat, non-tactile surface, just makes sense anyway.
      I’d been looking at the Sensel, so you sold me on it.

  • @tjosselin
    @tjosselin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the explanation. I will try the same with Geoshred on iPad.
    Question: I understand the live MPE now, but what about recording the midi created live in any controller in a DAW, Cubase for example? Possible ? Easy?-)

    • @VenusTheory

      I am very very very very very very sad haha. I think at the moment, I'm considering the Joue Pro as an alternative but I haven't had a chance to try one yet.
      In the meantime, will be clinging to my Morph until it absolutely dies on me.
