for those that care to operate on the CB spectrum, do the right thing and buy a separate CB radio. If you want to do MARS, then it's fine to do the MOD. Keep your amateur gear a virgin unless it's for MARS.

Yes but you can listen to stations outside ham bands without having to modify the radio.

Let's be honest. 99% of this MARS mode is for CB
