- Both Not My Slave and Dead Man's Party Joan Rivers Show clips together at last in one video. What's unusual about these is that they were actually performed live. How many 80's Boingo appearances can you say that about?
Best part about boingo live is they not only were extremely tight but there was no two identical shows. Anyone whose listened to multiple live recordings of the same song knows there are always nuances and changes, and not just in the solo sections. That combined with the theatrics and choreographic like dancing....
I have always appreciated how they'd change up their songs over the years. Dead Man's Party later adopted the longer horn intro, the same with Who Do You Want To Be and the added guitar solo at the beginning. They were always evolving, changing things and keeping them fresh. Probably one thing that kept them around for as long as they were.
Absolutely! Couldn't have said it better myself. Its a rare quality for a band to have and that diversity in each performance is one of my favourite things about them

EVERY live performance sounds like a perfect take at the studio, especially with Danny's voice, every pitch is right on, which is impressive considering some of the wacky things he does with his voice.

GoddessOfWhim2003 Poor, poor Joan Rivers. She had to suffer not ONE, but TWO kisses from Danny, AND have her hand held a few seconds in his big warm grip. If l had been there, I would have made the sacrifice and done it for her so she wouldn't have to endure such torture. I'm selfless like that.

the band Oingo Boingo, is one of the best bands of the eighties, excellent songs, could come after a pandemic to do a show here in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

Most of their television appearances were lip-synched, like most appearances were in the 80's. I think the only exceptions were this, "Not My Slave" at the 1987 MDA marathon Jerry Lewis telethon thing, and live on In Person in 1987.
